Stress test after myocardial infarction

Common Questions and Answers about Stress test after myocardial infarction

stress-test

Avatar f tn I had a myocardial infarction 10 years ago and i had a an open heart surgery since then and now i am experiencing symptoms of stable angina and my angiogram is completely clear and the bypass is 100% success and all the tests are negative, can a thallium stress test be useful or it will not be conclusive because of the former heart attack
Avatar m tn There is no clear scintigraphic or electrocardiographic evidence of prior myocardial infarction. The perfusion defect is in the distribution of the right coronary artery. There is no scintigraphic evidence of left ventricular dysfunction. Compared to the prior perfusion study of 09/29/09, the overall findings are similar.
Avatar m tn What if the LAFB was seen after the stress test was taken while resting?
Avatar m tn I am a Vet so this Thallium stress test was performed at the VA. Test get posted quickly online but follow up by a doctor can take weeks. These results were just post and I'm trying to figure out if should be relieved or more worried. Any input would be appreciated. The posted results are as follows: "Exercise stress and rest myocardial perfusion SPECT showed no areas of abnormal perfusion which indicate the presence of myocardial ischemia, infarction, or hibernation.
Avatar m tn I had a CAC score of 1143 followed by a nuclear stress test which showed low risk of heart attack. These results seem conflicting. Does this call for further testing or can I assume that I need do nothing further?
Avatar f tn 1) Probably normal myocardial perfusion sestamibi SPECT imaging after lexiscan stress testing. There is a small area of infarction vs artifact in the distal anterior and apical wall. There is no evidence of significant ischemia; 2) Overall left ventricular function was normal with abnormal septal motion regional wall motion abnormalities as noted Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn Hi vincint, what did yuor Dr, say ddi he sugest any other test, like a stress or echo carda gram/ are yuo on medication. What was your reason for haveing the EKG?
Avatar n tn Would a clear angiogram 2.5 years ago and a clear nuclear stress test last year indicate good heart health. I sometimes get bad shoulder pain an I worry it is related to my heart.
Avatar n tn a couple of weeks after I had a hard chest pain for 1-2 minutes, I went to cardiologist. He said EKG was normal and ordered a follow up stress test which he also said was normal. Going through paperwork today I see that my results say "SR, Poor Anterior Forces". It makes me wonder.I just called and they say it's just a normal thing. Would you be worried if you were me? My stress test and EKG in 2010 were normal also...no changes 2010 to 2013. I am a 66 yr old woman. Thanks.
Avatar n tn IT can pick up abnormal rhythms of the heart, as well as evidence of an old myocardial infarction, an ongoing myocardial infarction, or active ischemia (restriction in blood supply to the heart). A stress test is a screening test for coronary artery disease. A stress test can show any abnormal blood flow to the heart muscle. It is very possible for a stress test to be falsely normal in patients with coronary artery disease.
Avatar f tn I have recently learned I have had a heart attack and would like an explanation of of the findings on the Persantine Stress test please. Is any of the damage considered to be reversible, would surgery be necessary at some point? Observations: There is severe perfusion defect involving the distal part of the anterior wall and extending to the apex. Resting Myocardial Perfusion Study: same observation. LV Function: The left ventricle is of normal size, there is apical hypokinesia.
Avatar m tn Elevated troponins in the setting of chest pain may accurately predict a high likelihood of a myocardial infarction in the near future. New markers such as glycogen phosphorylase isoenzyme BB are under investigation. The diagnosis of myocardial infarction requires two out of three components (history, ECG, and enzymes). When damage to the heart occurs, levels of cardiac markers rise over time, which is why blood tests for them are taken over a 24-hour period.
1460302 tn?1285764782 Now there is a diagnostic distinction between myocardial infarction and ischemia—which is usually not possible from clinical or EKG findings alone—has taken on significant therapeutic and economic implications, given the development of new therapies. There may have been EKG with your stress test, and the test showed ST segment elevated with a Q or without a Q wave.
Avatar m tn It can also be used as a marker of myocardial infarction. Following a myocardial infarction, levels of LDH peak at 3-4 days and remain elevated for up to 10 days. In this way, elevated levels of LDH (where the level of LDH2 is higher than that of LDH1) can be useful for determining if a patient has had a myocardial infarction if they come to doctors several days after an episode of chest pain. Check it with your Cartdiologist for the reason of increase in LDH.
Avatar n tn Modified Bruce protocol for treadmill testing is usually applied when poor condition of the subject is suspected clinically or while conducting a predischarge treadmill test after treatment for acute myocardial infarction. Pre discharge treadmill test is often a sign limited one unlike the symptom limited test done in other situations. Maximum heart rate aimed at is around 120 per minute, unlike the 220-age maximum predicted heart rate for the standard treadmill test.
Avatar f tn Was the CT scan able to rule out the myocardial bridging is not associated with myocardial infarction (heart attack) it is factor on rare occasions. The mechanism by which this occurs is unclear; vessel occlusion in this setting may be due to superimposed thrombosis (clots) or vasospasm. Endothelial (lining of vessel) injury as a result of myocardial bridging may predispose to thrombus formation.
Avatar n tn I had a nuclear stress test. Before the stress part of the test my blood pressure was 213. The Dr said to go ahead with the test. During the test, I got cold and white, was unable to function well, semi unconsciousness, tremors particularly on the right arm, speech slurred, headache in the temple and forehead, fatigue. After many attempts to clear me from these side effects, they gave me a the antidote to the medication that they used. Did I have a heart attack?
Avatar f tn Hi. I wnet for apre op ekg last week and it showed exactly the same thing. I'm now in the process of being seen by another cardiologist within my insurance plan, and I'll also get a stress echo test. Did you ever proceed with the surgery? I'm 56 and in excellent health with absolutely no health issues. I've never had a heart problem or pain. My elective surgery is scheduled for next week Friday and I assume I won't be having the surgery.
Avatar f tn Myocardial perfusion imaging tests for 2 main things: ischemia and infarct. If you have ischemia, it means there is poor blood flow to the heart at stress but not at rest. When you have this, your doctor may decide to intervene by dilating and/or stenting your coronary arteries. Your report says you do not have this.
Avatar m tn Thus, CK-MB is a very good marker for acute myocardial injury, because of its excellent specificity, and it rises in serum within 2 to 8 hours of onset of acute myocardial infarction. Serial measurements every 2 to 4 hours for a period of 9 to 12 hours after the patient is first seen will provide a pattern to determine whether the CK-MB is rising, indicative of myocardial injury.
740140 tn?1232426714 They run many testes for her. The testes are stress test, ECG, and Echo. I am just curious about Troponins and would like to know more about it. Thank you!
Avatar n tn What ever the result said..... My cardio said, for women they're all "artefact"! Then why sent the women to have Nuclear Stress Test or Echo? Unfortunately, the next echo turned out that I've already had myocardial infarction. The test resulted "artefact" or my cardio judged "artefact"?
Avatar f tn Well, it would be unlikely given your age and what sounds to be good health that you are having symptoms of a Myocardial infarction but we can't say that for sure. So, you probably need to go ahead and get checked out. Are you under a lot of stress right now?
