Avatar n tn for pre-testing for ablation scan showed alot of structual damage to the heart and my mitral valve has adhered to the back of my haert so they scrapped the ablation procedure because they said it wouldn`t improve my condition. My EF is 13-15 percent and my vo2 stress test came back with 14. Do you feel that I should be put on a transplant list if I qualify ?
Avatar n tn I am a 28 yr old female and had my second ablation for SVT in April 2010 and experienced extreme fatigue and weakness for weeks after ablation. My symptoms went away eventually only to return whenever my body is put under certain types of extensive physical stress. For example if I exercise more then 3 times a week my symptoms of weakness and fatigue return and last for weeks. I also experience pain in my chest and upper back as well as shortness of breath whenever this happens.
Avatar f tn They ran echo, ekg, Ct of chest and nuclear stress. The images in the nuclear stress test did not match. The Dr said that they isotopes did not go to the front of my chest but he did not know why. He said it did not show a blockage. He told me to go home, take it easy and follow up in his office in a few weeks. He said he was unsettled that it they did not match. I am at a loss, leaving the hospital with chest pain and an abnormal nuclear stress test is unsettleing. Any advice or thoughts?
996946 tn?1503249112 I am scheduled for an ablation in Sept. My regular cardio in Tx actually wanted to get another stress test a few months ago. I put it off because of what had happened during the previous test. Then I was turned over to the local EP and he had retrieved my records from Alaska and didn't want me to have another stress test. I don't understand why? He is not the Dr doing the ablation.
Avatar f tn I am 41 years old. Had a stress test today. Went 19 minutes on the treadmill got heart rate to 180 bpm and when she slowed the treadmill down shortly after I felt a etopic and look on the monitor and saw the pvc. She said it was the only one I had during the test. However every once in a while when I am working out I will fell a couple either durning exercise or recovery.
Avatar f tn A couple days ago i kept getting runs of pvcs that scared me all night then they went away the next day with only a couple here and there. Then the day after i was driving and under some stress when i had another big thud i started feeling really scared and i felt my pulse right after and it was fine then a couple seconds later my heart started racing and beating hard i panicked and after 5 to 10 seconds it cut out.
Avatar f tn I had a catheter ablation in 3 areas in 2014 had few problems still so they installed a loop recorder and continued my cardizam. well last Thursday i had a stress test everything was going good my target rate was 159 once i was in third stage my heart rate finaly reached 156 then my heart heart droped in seconds to 68 and i passed out was very thirsty, sick pain in stomach, face numb, and head pounding. Why did this happen?
Avatar f tn You can do what I did. I had my cardiologist give me a stress test. He administered the test, and kept pushing me until I punched out totally drained, and drenched in sweat. This set my mind at ease that I could safely hit my personal limits with no SVT, and really gave me confidence that there was no more SVT.
Avatar n tn I was so hesitent to try it out, that he put me on the treadmill and gave me a standardized stress test, working me until failure. I managed a little over thirteen minutes before I "punched out" with complete exhaustion. No SVT! It was then I knew I had been cured.
86819 tn?1378947492 Your like one of the most logical people on these threads, pretty clear you think a boo boo happened or just the nature of the beast (difficulty of ablation). Life change it up...
550591 tn?1214928218 As I know of in the early 1980s, wpw was performed by open heart surgery. I refused so they put a pacemaker in. In 1985 they did the His bundle ablation. I think they want to see how active are your pathways. If you failed the stress test, the doctors still can perform a cardiac catheterization to find out. I think the doctor tried to save money for you to find out the pathway type on stress test rather to perform a catheterization.
1473852 tn?1288535631 From what I have read here, it takes a few months for the heart to quiet down after an ablation, so I would very much recommend one of the antidepressants called SSRIs. Some of these are more calming than others, so it would be best if your doc referred you to a psychiatrist, because they specialize in this kind of thing.
1317224 tn?1378705134 m having an ablation again on Tuesday morning. I had a catheter ablation in May of 2010 that was not completed. I had 95% of one side and none of the other side done. Things were better for awhile, but then I gradually had more episodes in spite of medications. In February 2012, a cryoablation was done and completed. I seemed to be good for a month (continued on meds), then started having worse episodes (BP dropping to 50/30 and heart rate at 190).
Avatar n tn i was on a lot of meds before mine and all were stopped straight away and i think it did not help me i know for me they say the rhythm or electrial side of things is trying to go the route it was going when it went into a svt run and because that area is now blocked partly i get pvcs if that make sence.i find it confusing.i will say after my ablation after a couple of weeks things did settle down and altough i now have the pvcs and sometimes svt run it is not as bad as it was.
Avatar m tn My doctor just left me a message and he said he talked to the EP and he said that they highly recommend me to go for the ablation. So i'm going in monday for the confrence with him and setting up the procedure appointment. This really *****, I was learning to deal with my pvc's and was just waiting for the echo results to say everything is fine and I could move on, then of course they find something else.
Avatar m tn can everyone please share their experiences of an EP study with me. I know I have posted on here before about similar questions, here is a little reminder of my situation.I'm a 24 yr old male. Echo, stress test, stress echo, holter, and event monitors have all been normal besides "PVC's and a 26 beat run of ventricular tachycardia at 127bpms that self terminated 1.could an EP study and ablation make my v-tach worse or cause it to become dangerous later on in life? 2.
11849443 tn?1441302841 I had my Stress Echo done prior to my electrophysiology. This was done after a normal treadmill stress test. The stress echo wasn't done as part of the pre-admission testing, but was done as part of the path towards the electrophysiology procedure. My cardiologist, whom I'm very friendly with told me it was done to rule out any structural abnormalities, and that he wanted to see my heart working under physical strain and compare it to when it was at rest.
18547660 tn?1465755398 I got good health insurance from work so i went to see so called sports doctor and got a veloergometry test load test. The test confirmed my issue and doctor said I have a SVT. I also did Echocardiography and another ECG with good results. I was recommended to visit an cardiologist who quickly suggested ablation procedure. I quickly agreed as that seemed to be the only logical solution.
Avatar n tn After dealing with PSVT for almost 40 years, I had an ablation done for AVNRT almost 3 weeks ago. The EP that I was referred to by my cardiologist was very confident that he would be able to take care of this long term problem for me. Prior to the ablation I was very nervous and had a week of sleepless nights. I figured once the ablation was done I would be able to calm down and get back to restful sleep.
Avatar n tn I am having a reveal recorder implanted in my chest and then when that gives them the information they need I may be having a pacemaker. Is there anyone else here who has had this after an ablation?
Avatar f tn In my opinion, these rate that you refer to are perfectly normal for the things that you were doing. The last stress test I took was after my ablation when I was 60 years old. I got my heart rate up to 198bpm, and I was in normal sinus rhythm the whole time. I'd say 170 is not a problem. My advice to you is be very careful that you do not get needlessly directed down the path of ablation without good reason. The incidents you referenced above are typical for SVT.
Avatar n tn Are these symptoms normal after an ablation? Put differently, do these symptoms suggest that the ablation was not entirely successful and that I may require a repeat procedure? Or is it still too early to tell? Also, is it normal that the flecainide is not working? I'm not sure what to expect as I had never before taken this drug. Another strange symptom is that I had a 10 minute episode of visual disturbances 2 days ago, with golden/flashing rings appearing in the periphery of my vision.
Avatar n tn After ablation all were well and I was feeling no pain or anything else. Six weeks after I had a stress test and unfortunately the VT was still there. However, I have no PVC's. Note that the VT was only occuring on exercise or when I was trying to do something really fast. I was 39 when I did the ablation and was exercising a lot. One day at the gym I pressed my self really hard and had a pre fainting event. Runned to ER, I was checked all was okay.
