Avatar n tn Hyperhidrosis may be congenital or an acquired trait. Congenital means you are born with it, while an acquired trait means you are not; the condition is acquired later in life after birth. Hyperhidrosis may be categorized as being the result of an underlying health condition, or with no apparent cause: Primary idiopathic hyperhidrosis - there is no apparent cause. Idiopathic means "of unknown cause". In the majority of cases the hyperhidrosis is localized.
Avatar f tn Hi I have some symptoms that are causing me concern. I have an increase in white patches on my skin and after extensively googling as to what it could be I have narrowed it down to vitiligo or morphea which I believe are both caused by autoimmune illness. I don't see my doctor about this until Thursday so that he can know for sure what my skin problem is.
Avatar m tn "I am trying to avoid the stress of testing if possible." There shouldn't be any "stress" about that. What's the stress when the result is virtually certaint to be negative? Yes, your chance is "genuinely zero" -- both because the contact was no risk and because syphilis is vanishingly rare in partners like yours. In the US, the large majority of cases are in gay men, and almost all the remainder in inner-city minority populations.

Avatar m tn I then developed a white coating on my tongue. I attended an NHS clinic in London and had the 4th generation duo test six weeks after exposure, it was negative. I have had no other sexual activity since this incident and have returned to the NHS clinic for a further 4th generation duo test after three months from exposure, this test was again negative. My sporadic prickly heat (intense burning) and rash to parts of my body and white tongue still persist.
1500208 tn?1289227520 Yes, stress can aggravate thyroid issues, but thyroid issues can also cause additional stress and/or mimic symptoms of stress. You really need an FT3 test and if you haven't already had them, antibody tests would certainly be in order to test for Hashimoto's....... I don't know how your NHS works in the UK - I think I've read that if you can afford it, you can go to whomever you want.
Avatar f tn t think I am a total sell out, but I asked if it is possible that stress is causing this. I am under some enormous stress right now and these issues have gotten worse. I just don't feel like myself anymore. she asked what she could do to get me to take the meds and I told her that I just need to know that if I admit I am stressed out that all my symptoms will not immediately get written off as stress or depression.
Avatar m tn - Hypoglaecemic symptoms. Urgent need to eat, body trembling etc. Usually solved by eating and sitting down for a while. - Fatigue. Being on my feet for any period can often make me incredibly tired. For example I was on my feet at work the other day for 30 minutes. It left me so tired that I had to sit down. I'v felt exhausted since (almost 3 days ago now) and am unable to function as normal.

Avatar n tn Hi I am from the UK but currently live in the US so know how both systems work. I would recommend seeing the specialist privately in the UK. It's usually not too expensive and you can be seen within days. For something like your eyes, this is a good investment believe me. In the US, you can see whoever you want......but believe me also when I tell you the bills are scary. Even with insurance! Don't hate on the NHS just yet.
1459828 tn?1287060343 I recently just found out that I'm pregnant I had all the normal symptoms to getting my period including sore boobs. After I found out that I was pregnant that all seemed to go away the only thing I have had is gas and extremely emotional. Is this normal or a sign of a miscarriage where my boobs have stopped hurting. I have read that things like that stopping can be a sign.
Avatar m tn What it is was, i`m a 39 year old male I had my stress test and echo yesterday and i`m crapping myself about the results, the positives i`m taking from it are there was no increase in chest pain, i didnt collapse, there werent any ecg changes from the treadmill, pulse was nice and regular throughout and no contrast needed for the images from the echo, the negatives BP was sky high, was very tachy and was out of breath (i am after all unfit lol).
Avatar n tn Try not to anticipate the worst..anything autoimmune wise will have worse symptoms from stress...believe me, I know. You are in my prayers.
Avatar n tn Gosh, I'm sure sorry you are feeling so poorly. So, couple of questions. How is your diet? And are you hydrated? I have to wonder about that as some of these things can be due to low blood sugar. Have you been sick lately? Fuzzy hearing--- do you mean you are having difficulty hearing? Inner ear issues with the eustachian tube for example can cause hearing issues and dizziness/balance issues.
Avatar f tn No need for testing any further from this exposure. Thats my advice. Your genital sensations seem to be very normal for someone that is hyper aware of the area.
Avatar m tn It would put you and the people you are serving with at greater risk. MS is exacerbated by stress, and being deployed is definitely stressful. What on earth is your neuro thinking with this reasoning? The UK does such a better job of supporting MS patients than we get here in the states. If I were you I would quietly start looking into what programs you would qualify for if you get a MS dx.
Avatar n tn 4 days later I returned to the uk. That night in bed I had night sweats, body convulsions throughout the night. These symptoms lasted about 3 days and also including lag muscle twitches. The next day I visited the GUM clinic and had a STI tests done including HIV duo test. The following week I felt exhausted & dehydrated. The tests came back 2 weeks later 'negative'.
