HPV CAN lie dormant for decades w/ NO symptoms(warts/low risk or abnormal cell change/high risk). Your doc should test you and tell you whether you have low or high..but you probably have high risk since you have abnormal cervical cells. Your guy could've had it first OR YOU could've..you'll never know. Men usually tend to have NO symptoms for the high risk strain and NO subsequent health issues.

Women with cervical dysplasia seem to clear it up in 6 months-3 years. What’s the information on men (or women, for that matter) with anal dysplasia? Is it entirely different? Or does this same timeframe apply to men? My doctor said I wouldn’t benefit from the HPV vaccine and yet I have read it’d be smart even for those infected to get it as it can prevent you from getting others.

I don't know what the statistics are but maybe women do have anxiety more than men. But why don't you try reminding your friends that men also get breast cancer. Statistically not a lot of them but it does happen.

While syphilis is found a lot in men who have sex with men, its not ONLY found in men who have sex with men. You should see your doctor when you get new symptoms.

HPV would not cause burning symptoms, in men or in women-- it may complicate whatever it is that is causing the burning sensation, but HPV shows no symptoms in men or women (unless in the form of genital warts or irregular pap smears in women). And while it's true that HPV is not curable, a person with a healthy immune system will clear the virus in two years or less.

Severe stress, maybe. Day-to-day stress, probably not. If just average stress levels could keep women from getting pregnant, nobody would ever get pregnant in a war zone or a bad relationship, and it happens all the time.
