Avatar m tn s in a row without a normal beat until I jump up and make my heart rate go up to kick it outta rhythm, I guess I just cant get over these other symptoms happening all of a sudden, I;ve never had chest pain or arm aches until all of this started happening, maybe it's anxiety but i've delt with massive anxiety since I was 13 and I know what stress/anxiety chest pain feels like and this isn't it.
Avatar n tn I know that stress can be harmful especially so early on, I have a very stressful job and was wondering if anyone has any tips to stay calm.
Avatar f tn I have what I would guess is pretty severe gastritis and acid reflux. I drink ACV, take Protonix (just the past couple days), and drink Maalox which does help temporarily. I get burning in my throat and chest, reflux, nausea, sternum pain, feeling like there is something in my throat, and even back pain when it gets bad. Do those of you who have these issues also get chest tightness and the feeling of something sitting on your upper chest?
Avatar f tn I think in view of the recent normal stress test and Holter monitor, and how atypical the symptoms are for coronary artery disease, that this is more likely suggestive of a digestive disorder. It may be related to an esophageal hernia or to severe GERD. Aspirin can certainly aggravate these symptoms. I suggest that you speak to your GP and that he perhaps orders either a Barium swallow or a CT scan of the chest.
1453933 tn?1285260910 While some amount of stress in unavoidable in our lives, trying to minimize chronic stress can really help out with a lot of health issues. Try hard to set aside a few minutes each day to do something that truly relaxes you; reading, hot bath, meditating etc. I like to sing at the top of my voice :-) Sounds trivial, but it might be the best thing you can do!! Good luck to you!!
Avatar m tn Hi. I'm a healthy, 50 year old male. I have no symptoms of heart problems, but I have a family history of heart disease. Is a nuclear stress test advisable or is there another test that would be more appropriate given the fact that I'm asymptomatic. I understand that the radiation exposure in a nuclear stress test is 250 times that of a chest xray.
Avatar n tn However, a regular stress may be sufficient in stable patients or those with a low suspicion of coronary artery disease who are being assessed for exercise tolerance (for example, prior to undergoing a structured exercise or rehab program). If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test. The test provides a perfusion of a dye through your vessels at rest and with exercise.
1338860 tn?1275920555 I have these exact same symptoms. I have seen two Dr's and both say it's stress and give me depression and anxiety pills but the pain is still there. I worry because my throat feels like it's closed up and it's hard to swallow. Sometimes I sound hoarse and I clear my throat a lot. Constantly grabbing my chest and by the end of the work day I just want to lay down for relief of the back and shoulder pain.
671285 tn?1292660161 Hello there, Tight chess, chess pain that seems to be all around the chest are common symptoms of stress and anxiety. If it would be a problem with your heart the pain would be coming more from near the sternum as a very annoying pain and pressure. If it moves around your chest it's mostly not related to your heart.
Avatar f tn However, yes, symptoms like anxiety and headaches can re-surface time and again for a few months, especially if you are stressed or around smokers or are sitting idle. Usually chest tightness is a common symptoms in those who quit smoking. This lasts for a few days after last cigarette. The tightness (not actually pain) is due to anxiety and stress and due to various changes in body due to nicotine withdrawal.
Avatar m tn The physical evaluation needs to be done to rule out any physical problems, and consulting a mental health professional will help you with your negative emotions and thoughts. Some anxiety and depressive disorders can cause physical symptoms as can extreme stress. Please get checked out and let us know how you're doing. You don't have to live like this, I know cause I've been where you are now. Give yourself a break, there is hope.
Avatar f tn Sometimes I worry so much, my stomach hurts. I have been under more stress than usual for a while. I had chest tightness once before I got married. When I went to the doctor, he told me I was just nervous about the wedding, and it would go away after the wedding. He was right. However, I remember that chest tightness being in the center of my chest, not on the left side. Do you think this is a heart related condition or just stress? Thanks!
Avatar n tn If there is ischemia a stress test with perfussion can help show any blocked vessels that cause your symptoms. It seems reasonable based on your symptoms that you should see your doctor as the symptoms expressed can be very serious and harmful...and it has been a year since your last stress test, and it is true there is not much concern for skipped beats, but the sympoms you have are not associated with occasionally skipped beats!.
Avatar f tn The lowest classification is no limitations of physical activity. Ordinary physical activity does not cause undue dyspnea (shortness of breath) or fatigue, chest pain or near syncope (fainting). The next higher classification is class II: Patients with pulmonary hypertension resulting in slight limitation of physical activity. These patients are comfortable at rest, but ordinary physical activity causes undue dyspnea or fatigue, chest pain or near syncope.
935542 tn?1244774430 ) with exertion but no symptoms at rest. You should see a cardiologist and take a stress test. The test views blood flow with exercise and blood flow at rest, and if the test is positive the condition should be treaed to prevent heart cell damage. When heart cells lack sufficient blood/oxygen the cells can be damaged.
Avatar n tn The imediate post-stress myocardial images show defect in the antero-apical and apical walls of the left ventrical. The overall size of the defect is small. Resting images show nearly complete normalization of these perfusion defects. In addition, prominent breast tissue attenuation artifact was noted. The patient had appropriate HR response, and appropriate BP response. Negative for chest pain, mildly positive for ischemic ECG changes, and negative for significant arrhythmia.
1215847 tn?1266443248 Doctors say it is anxiety after having had ECG, echo, stress test. I know it is not anxiety. In addition to the chest flushing et al, I also have intermittent bone pain mostly in my legs that, at its worst, has made me incapable of walking for 30+ minutes. I'll throw in itching and hives. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Avatar m tn This is a reasonable option if you are not continuing to have chest pain, not having worsening chest pain, not having new/concerning symptoms. I would also take it easy until the procedure can be done (no heavy lifting, exercising, minimize stress, keep your blood pressure well-controlled). 2. If you are able, see if you can get it done more quickly at another institution or call your doctor and see if they can schedule you more quickly.
Avatar f tn Hello~It is always a good idea to mention any type of chest pain, however, the fact that yours only last a few seconds leads me to think it is just a type of "stress reaction" Your muscles in your chest could be tightening up when you get upset, I know mine do. It is actually common in most folk. Let us know what the doctor says.
Avatar m tn Although I know the fatigue can be explained by the stress I had a non itchy rash on my chest for one day after being incontact sexually with a friend of mine. The rash went away but a week later i noticed very faint red spots in the chest area again. This worries me because I don't know what could cause this? Contact with her skin? I have been on a huge bender as far as drinking goes as well and three days after I stopped drinking excessively is when it faintly reappeared. Please help me.
212161 tn?1599427282 Hi, we'll I had my stress test done, just the exercise one with no dye or pictures, I ran it about 7 mins got my heart to 104 percent, could of keep going if I needed to, had no chest pains, or sob. They said you passed sent me on my way. Good news My question is , without pics how much can they tell about the heart, if I had a blockage would it had shown up? Should I feel good about my heart? Thank you so much for all your time.
Avatar n tn I am a 23 year old female-nonsmoker/nondrinker/normal BMI who began having chest pain 4 months ago. I believe the pain was initially onset due to stress (I was switching jobs at the time). Stress is gone (went back to old job) but pain remains: blood test (hepatitis, h pylori), EKG, gall bladder/liver function, echo cardio/stress are all normal. I have been treated with arthritis medication for costocondritis and been perscribed both prilocec and nexium with no help.
Avatar m tn You should consult your physician regarding these symptoms. If you had a normal ECG, Stress test, and ECHO at the time that these symptoms were going on, that helps rule out a significant cardiac issue. However, you should discuss the palpitations with your physician as he or she may want to consider a heart rate monitor depending on what your symptoms are like. You should consult your primary physician or pulmonary physician if you are having trouble controlled your asthma.
Avatar f tn I have a patchy rash that comes and goes mainly on my torso and chest, but has also appeared on my lower arms and thighs. It doesn't itch, and seems to be made worse by the heat from a shower, or when clothing rubs on the skin. Could this be caused by stress? I have no other illness or symptoms. Thanks in advance.
