Common Questions and Answers about Stress relief bird

Avatar f tn Birds do feel stress. I don't know how long your bird will be suffering since every bird is an individual. Fear and stress are part of all animals make up and defense system. In the wild, birds need a long memory to avoid repetition of an undesirable or dangerous occurrence. Your bird may also be very afraid of your dogs for a long time or forever.
Avatar f tn m now 32+3 weeks and been so stressed because his dad promised to send some money for groceries for him ( he is on their food stamps and gets 674 dollars in disability) well no money has come and we have had to spend so much money on him and skipped two major bills this month to get extra groceries and make sure he had a good birthday. 4268628 tn?1375041176 So I am 17 weeks now and feeling g physically ill due to stress. Any ideas for stress relief? Most of my go to activities aren't working. Avatar f tn Not sure how your question got posted on the bird forum but I'll get it switched for you. Can you ask your doctor to explain these results or are you still waiting for a follow up visit?
Avatar m tn //www.backyardchickens.com/t/633453/dealing-with-bird-mites-my-home-my-hens-my-itchyness Wherever they come from, or however long they stay, they are real. I have tried many remedies. Goldbond medicated cream with menthol will give you relief. Many people will never confront these. Some seem more susceptible to the ivasion. Like me. There is little comfort to be had when heavily infested. It is not your fault though. Always remember that. It is important. Not everybody can get them.
Avatar n tn Are there any toys or sharp edges on her cage or feeding dishes that could have caused a scrape? And you could hold her and examine her neck. You're a lot bigger than she is. If you're uncomfortable or don't know how to hold a bird correctly with your bare hand, try using a small cloth to cradle her. Just drape it over your hand, reach in and plop it over her. Then you can take her out. The one thing you don't want to do is put pressure on her chest area.
Avatar f tn I found out I am pregnant again and am 6wks 5days. I am terrified. Any tips on how to reduce anxiety and stress due to my last experience?
Avatar n tn I have Hashimoto's resulting in hypothryoidism. I was prescribed Armour and then Levothyroxine. I felt a little better on the Armour, so I switched back on my own. My Antithyroglobulin Ab is 150. I am making antibodies against the pig thyroid. I also have MS and was told that synthetic medication would aggrevate the disease. I am getting a little confused because I am still having hypo- symptoms such as abdominal weight gain and dry skin and hair.
214607 tn?1287677559 btw are you going to stuff your bird or make dressing on the side? if you stuff the bird make sure the stuffing gets up to temp too (165). So get yourself a meat thermometer if you dont have one already to ensure both bird and stuffing go to 165. somtimes you end up having to take the stuffing back out of the bird and finishign it in a pan by itself in the oven to obtain this without overcooking the bird. (So say the experts...
Avatar f tn When I was treating for cancer I had that problem during chemo infusions. One day the nurse brought me a handmade quilt, and told me the quilting group at the local senior center made them to donate to the cancer center. I cried when she tucked me into that quilt. I still have it, hanging on my office wall. It reminds me how kind people can be to strangers.
Avatar f tn I imagine any animal can die of fright, some are just more susceptible than others. Extreme fear and stress can cause stress myopathy which will cause the heart to stop. I've had it happen at work. It's not a pleasant thing to be examining a bird and have it die in my hands. Sure, it may have had a broken wing but the exam is sometimes too much for it no matter how quick or gentle I am. What kind of scare did the rat have? Or is this just a question out of curiosity?

Avatar f tn Over the Summer our house became infested with microscopic bird mites as we had many nests in our rooftops and used to feed them on our patio. My husband and I were severely bitten over several days. We brought in pest control and this helped a lot. I suffer more than my husband as the adult females bored into my left buttock especially and laid their eggs, I now know. I have seen two doctors who agree that I have pediculosis of some kind. It has been seven weeks since the infestation.

Avatar n tn Does anyone else see the things you see - your family or friends? If you don't think it's hallucinations, then what will the appt with a psychiatrist hurt? If you aren't experiencing any psych issues, then the doctor can refer you back to the dermatologist, right? If it helps, just view it as one step in your treatment plan. If it is something psychological or psychiatric, they can treat you.

Avatar n tn A few weeks ago, another small bird had fallen into our garden and my son (who was playing outside) caught the bird, soaked it in cold water and locked it in the seat of his toy car. Luckily I found the shivering bird. When questioned my son replied that the bird was dirty. A few days later the bird died. My son laughed when he informed me that he and his dad had found the bird dead. My son is very affectionate and loving most of the time.
784382 tn?1376931040 He was driving down our main road and saw some crows, I think they were, that had cornered a bird. When he got to the bird, saw it was a grey. Came home, got a box...no, our cat carrier, and brought it home. It was real sweet and didn't bite. Like an idiot, I carefully put my hand out to it just hoping it woundn't bite. We could tell someone had lost their bird so called animal control to come get it as well as put up signs.
