Avatar f tn Stress causes our bodies to go into fight or flight mode and forces us to use our bodily resources make the stress hormone cortisol , instead of those resources making all the other hormones we and baby need. So, stress is not a good thing. But I'm sure if its short term baby will be fine. Women in war torn countries still end up having healthy babies :) take a deep breathe and get some relax time.
645800 tn?1466860955 Yesterday when I went to the VA I got very stressed out and soon found that I was developing TN pain on the left side of my face. once I got home and slept for about 15 hours the TN stopped. This was purely stress from my PTSD symptoms. I know that stress can aggravate MS symptoms, but I'm looking for research or other documentation of this fact to present to the VA so that they will treat the effects of this stress as being service connected.
Avatar n tn Not sure what is stressing you out as far as the details. But try to focus on one stress at atime...if you are worried about money - look for local resources to help you with things for baby. Your local WIC office should have a good size list of resources. For family or relationship stress find someone you can trust to talk to for some support. Sometimes just talking will help relieve some stress. know that you cannot control your situation but you can control your choices now and your outlook.

Avatar m tn Hi, I'am suffering from a long term alternating one-sided nasal congestion. I just didn't know if its just a what they called "Nasal Cycle" or a chronic congestion or turbinite reduction from what I've researched. So this is my situation: Every other time my one-sided nasal congestion will alternate to the other side and the other side will be blocked. And the congestion has also something to do in the way how I sleep or I mean which side a sleep.

Avatar m tn There is reason to believe it may be stress related. Since then, I have felt chest pain. A burning in the lower 2 or 3 ribs on the left side, and a some pain in the sternum. Recently the pain has continued to spread into the central left of the chest. Again, a burning stabbing pain. No shortness of breathe, not crushing pain. I feel the arrhythmia and pain must be related, as I had no issues for 1st 45 years, now both within 3 months.
Avatar n tn Lots of ideas and methods online on how to manage stress. There are a lot of resources out there. But take a deep breath, try to find time to relax for a few minutes and then use it as motivation to find solutions. Do not take any abuse however, if this is that kind of relationship leave asap!

Avatar m tn These tests look at completely different things, so yes. Its alot to break down but basically.. Stress tests look at electricity and wall motion. Ct angiograms look at blood flow. Contrast mri and nuclear medicine looks at perfusion (how well muscles soak up blood). So you can have a 48% reduction in blood flow, resulting in a 68% reduction in pumping action/wall motion and a 20% loss of perfusion all in 1, yes.
480448 tn?1426948538 I wanted to re-post this link to a health page I created listing anxiety resources. There are many many great books on this list. I cannot stress enough that the MORE work you put into treating your anxiety, the more successful you will be. You cannot expect to take a pill or go to therapy once a week (or less) and have it all figured out. If anyone has any books, sites, etc they have found helpful, let me know and I'll add it to the health page. Remember: you have to help yourself!
1961938 tn?1398718101 I am giving a persuasion speech about natural child birth. I figure its a good topic because I want to know all about it before I do it anyways lol. Anyways do any of you ladies have good resources on the topic? Even resources pro interventions are welcome. I don't want to be so narrow minded in my speech ;) also birth stories of natural births and others would be very helpful.

Avatar f tn In response the body results in a reactive increase in the production of endorphins, which should result in a reduction of painful symptoms and an increased sense of wellbeing. A lack of endorphins is linked to RLS. Increased levels of endorphins should be expected to stimulate the immune system, promoting an increase in the number of T lymphocytes. This effect was observed in Dr Bihari's research.
5982197 tn?1391477396 First, I want to congratulate you on the awareness you have of your stress level, and for reaching out for help. Many people walk around chronically stressed and do not even realize it. Awareness is the first step. One of the most important and hardest lessons for caregivers to learn is how to take care of themselves. It is impossible to effectively care for someone else when you are not caring for yourself. You cannot control everything, but you can control some things.
Avatar n tn reducing the amount of reaction to stress is usually accomplished by meditation or stress reduction in the individual, but for a pharmeceutical treatment, most doctors turn to SSRI's. These drugs increase the amount of seratonin in the brain, and this reaction has the side effect of making you less emotive and therefore less "stressable." Again....very good question.
