I think most of us who have had angina attacks or a heart attack will have somewhat different symptoms, sometimes no symptoms, but generally cardiac chest pain doesn't increase when the area of the pain is touched. Also, cardiac symptoms are generally explained as 'pressure' or a 'clutching' sensation. That being said, something is causing you discomfort and as I have read and heard many times, chest pains need to be investigated.
Are you stressed? Because stress can cause an increase of acid production. So, if you are stressed, stress reduction measures are important to take. Not smoking is also a big plus when it comes to acid reflux.
Have you made recommended changes in your diet for the gastritis? Did they check a gastrin level on you? Did they take a close look at your throat on the way down to your stomach for signs of damage from acid?

If you are under a lot of stress, stress reduction would be advised as well. And if you smoke, that can cause GERD problems too. I don't smoke, but don't do well with the diet & currently am taking two prescription drugs plus liquid anti-acid.
