647391 tn?1275016633 Decisions about what to do regarding these lumps will be better able to be discussed once they have the information from the biopsy available. That information as well as information from your films, physical exam etc. will help. If you have additional concerns and questions after your discussion with your doctor, you may want to seek a second opinion regarding your situation from a breast specialist. These are usually found associated with large academic centers.

374652 tn?1494811435 I was told by my doctor/friend today that the latest information shows no difference with reducing dosage of SOC if on the PI's. that is if the reduction is done later in treatment. I am still und and have 4 weeks to go. Would be nice if these PI's panned out, so far so good.
Avatar f tn s is that your immune system does not recognize your thyroid and attacks it, this causes a reduction in the production of Thyroid hormone, this is called Hypothyroid, Graves Disease is when your immune system attacks your Thyroid and causes an over production of the thyroid, and is Hyperactive. Doctors prescribe a T4 Hormone medication for Hypoactve and Hashimoto's, and do blood work every six weeks, the good thyroid MD's will treat you by your symtoms and not just lab results.

Avatar f tn Hello there. Unfortunately, we're not permitted to give specific tapering/dosing information. What I can tell you is that you should devise a taper plan with your doctor's help. Depending on how long you've been taking the Ativan , at what dose and the frequency, you may require a slower and more gradual taper. Let us know how you're doing and good luck!

Avatar n tn Gabapentine is a good medicine that has shown some consistent results. Reduction of stress levels is also shown to work. Thalamus is the center where all the sensory information comes. And it includes emotional aspects, too. Some people benefit from stereotactic surgery (Thalamotomy). The decision regarding the treatment options can be discussed with your Neurologist. All the best.
Avatar m tn Another underlining factor to an overgrowth is stress. Your body reacts to stress by creating a hormone called cortisol which raises your blood sugar (again, excess sugar) and suppresses the immune system leaving the body unarmed and candida with the upper hand for an invasion. So now candida has no bacteria around to eat it, has copious amounts of food available, and no enemy soldiers around to attack it, of course its going to take advantage of this glorious opportunity and take over.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for all this information. I just don't feel very comfortable with the cardiologist, and they're about an hour and a half from where I live anyway. I have an appointment with my Primary Care Manager next week, and I'm just trying to figure out if this is worth bringing up.
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction done 10 years ago. I have many scars as a result. I also have fibrocystic breasts. I usually have my doc or obgyn do my breast exams because I find them difficult to do myself because of the nature of my breasts. What I am wondering is has anyone here ever had a breast reduction and find it difficult to distinguish between whats a problem lump and what is scar tissue. I have a lot of cysts some that move some that dont.
Avatar m tn d all like to have more precise information but unfortunately all we can provide are generalizations. There is no ethical way to determine how frequently STDs of any sort are transmitted from person to person in specific situations. Our epidemiological studies help to provide useful information such as the fact that condoms, in general, reduce the risk of HPV or herpes transmission 40-50% over an unprotected encounter but cannot do better than that.
Avatar m tn Sleep therapy along with sleep hygiene (avoiding caffeine, alcohol and tobacco as well as stress reduction) in due course of time helps the patient get proper night sleep. Your doctor may advise you some Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which might improve your sleep. The different approaches used are stimulus control, sleep restriction, relaxation therapy, psychotherapy and maintaining sleep hygiene. You are taught not to read, watch TV, or do anything else in bed.

Avatar n tn Elevated WBC or leukocytosis may be caused by several conditions including bacterial infection, inflammation, leukemia, lymphoma, trauma, use of certain drugs (steroids, antiseizure medications), myeloproliferative disorders of the bone marrow (chronic myelogenous leukemia, polycythemia vera, myelofibrosis, essential thrombocythemia), inflammatory bowel disorders (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis), burns or stress (physical or emotional).
Avatar m tn These tests look at completely different things, so yes. Its alot to break down but basically.. Stress tests look at electricity and wall motion. Ct angiograms look at blood flow. Contrast mri and nuclear medicine looks at perfusion (how well muscles soak up blood). So you can have a 48% reduction in blood flow, resulting in a 68% reduction in pumping action/wall motion and a 20% loss of perfusion all in 1, yes.

Avatar n tn I (57 yo male) just received the results of a stress test (Bruce protocol). I thought my heart was healthy, but asked for this test before starting an exercise regimen after not exercising regularly for the past few years. The "borderline normal " results were: 1. Ischemic changes confined to a small segment of the interior-apical wall of the left ventricle as well as the septal wall. 2. Borderline ejection fraction of 49% at rest.
