Avatar n tn All of them were also college students. I was tested about two years ago for STDs and HIV. All were negative except Gonorrhea. I've been pretty healthy these past two years except for some reoccuring yeast infections and what seemed like a semester of diarrhea which could have been due to stress I suppose. I am scared to death to get tested because I feel like it will be positive. What do you think my probability is? Any thoughts Teak?

Avatar f tn I hope someone else on this forum will have some ideas for you. Since your daughter is in college, would it be possible for her to go to the infirmary and seek help there? Surely they must know that students don't always have insurance or a rich parent at their beck and call. Maybe you could call the school and inquire about that? Guess all they can say is no. Another option is for you to take her to the ER.
Avatar m tn It is common for a person to have a break in college, or any major life event such as divorce, high stress job etc.. Knowledge is power. Having said that I have bp1, and recently completed a B.A. but during the 4 years I was in school I was hospitalized once and narrowly avoided 2 others hospitalizations. I had numerous panic attacks, but like an earlier poster I utilized all available resources to help get me through.
Avatar m tn That's an awful broad brush to tar all 'college students' with pardner, just because a few students on one campus are idiots. I know at UT Austin the Liberal students would be horrified and would argue with his bigoted @$$ until they realized he was a put on, while the conservative students would simply whack him over the head with his clipboard.
Avatar f tn Are you in sports? Calories for college students vary because of differences in physical activity. Make sure your diet is mostly whole foods including low-fat dairy, whole-grains, lean protein, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and healthy oils. Don't skip breakfast. Don't get in the habit of staying up late, then rush to get to class. You need food to get your metabolism up, your energy levels will be low and you'll be starving and likely to overeat by lunch.
Avatar n tn Try a couple of supplements that are supposed to improve immune function, like echinachea and aloe juice. Avoid kids and college students (very buggy they are) until your immune function improves. Reduce stress. Sometimes it is just a combination of especially strong viruses and your immune system being a little out of kilter (stress, poor eating, winter blues, lots of causes) that gets you on a roll with several bugs in a row.
10626389 tn?1412006663 Hey guys! I'm a senior in college this year and I seem to be struggling with my weight. Ever since I transfered to a further campus, I've slowly started packing on the pounds. I don't have access to home-cooked meals, just what they serve in the dining hall or take out/frozen foods. I've recently stopped drinking soda and cut down on the coffee. I try to stay active sad eat more fruits and veggies. But I still get munchies for junk food.

148588 tn?1465778809 Did you assume my comment had anything to do with kids going to college? I was talking about something that I see our country can improve upon. Many other countries put resources into helping their young people find the right direction for themselves and we could do more of that. Teko, actually I think you put that very well and would agree regarding student loans. The rate shouldn't be higher than banks. That makes no sense.
Avatar f tn Fortunately, every college will have an office that handles arranging additional supports for students who need them. Contact the college admissions office, explain your situation, and they can direct you to the appropriate people tot talk to. If you're living at home, a local community college might be a great option and they will also have an office in charge of making sure that students like you recieve needed support.
973741 tn?1342342773 I'm not sure how I feel about all the "free" college tuition, etc... we all know free isn't really free because somebody has to pay for it but we also know that our kids are the future and they need an education but many of them can't afford to get through high school, let alone a college or university.

That is scheduled and with college students---- you want to make sure she'd not do anything like drink alcohol with it, etc. Zoloft is a great medication and does help a good deal with anxiety. Taking it slowly to get started helps keep the start up side effects to be less. These medications can have some side effects in the begining and they go away rather quickly as the drug gets up and running in the body.
Avatar f tn Today I was an emotional roller coaster. It was the first time in 8 years that I cried in front of my students. I work with 4 and 5 year olds. I know it's the hormones but how can I stay calm until I leave? Are there any other teachers out there or pregnant moms with hectic jobs. How do you keep your composure?
Avatar f tn Wow. Thanks so much! I'm 22 and a college students living with 5 female roommates. Thanks again for the feedback!
Avatar n tn Hello, I went through the same thing. Went from about 120 to 140 my first semester of college in 2005, and did not lose it permanently until 2007, and have kept it off since then. I did that by learning how to eat right, mostly, and slowly incorporating exercise to my lifestyle. I had to make a lot of changes, but if you just change one thing at a time before you know it you have a healthy lifestyle.

Agudio and Burwell also face charges of harassment.
Avatar f tn I think you pick your poison -- you can go for uniformity and more students will perform well and more will go nuts, or you can not stress that and more students will blow school off and suffer for it later but the society will benefit from a whole lot more creative thinking.
Avatar n tn I am a college student studying pre med and have my fair share of adderall cramming for exams. After taking it for over two years and constantly being over caffinated my heart has become very sensitive to everything. I pretty much always have an irregular heart beat, chest pains and pains in my arms, neck and back.(esp when i lay down to sleep) I am very concerned and before i see a doctor about it i was wondering if anyone had any input. I am decaffinating and have stopped taking adderall.
Avatar m tn In brief, I am studying medicine and I am worried sick if I have acquired herpes even though I do not have any symptoms, but the college will perform tests for all the students and they may find out I have herpes and cancel my study visa... please help me is it only hiv and hepatits who are prevented to study or anyone who has any STDs?
Avatar f tn Hello I'm slightly confused by your questions. First, there is no "average" time that it takes either men or women to orgasm. When it comes to sex, everyone is different. And sometimes, we come very quickly, and sometimes it takes awhile. It depends on our mood, whether we're receiving adequate stimulation, and lots of other factors. I would suggest that you and your partner find out much more about both male and female sexuality.
