Avatar f tn Hi everyone. I'm 27 and a half weeks and going through a lot of stress. My 15 year old ran away and is using drugs, my job has demoted me with pay cut and reduced hours, my husband is talking about divorce, and my step son who's 20 has no respect for my rulesand I think both of the children are jealous of the baby. I'm not able to make all my bills, and my job is not sympathetic to my difficult pregnancy.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Alex, that's just what I do! I also practice meditation, Yoga, listening to music (turn off the news, for goodness sake!), playing my guitar, riding my bike - it's amazing to me how much a bike ride or a good Yoga practice brightens my outlook and mood. Great start to a thread, Paula! I'm sorry your mom is doing poorly...
405614 tn?1329144114 I started out with the simple "I am breathing in" (1) I am breathing out. I'm glad it helped keep you from freaking out, db, that must have been awful. I've also done walking meditation, and "red light meditation" (do the breathing while stopped at a red light), and so on. I forgot to practice when so much was going wrong, right when I needed it the most. Tahiri, years ago I practiced judo, and the kata was like a meditation, too.

Avatar f tn I also work in an office and it is very stressful!!! It is demanding. I listen to meditation music on Pandora and that helps. I also walk on my lunch breaks. Yesterday I was having heart palpitations so I had to take a few breaks and just breath. I also say positive affirmations before I go in. I also say things like in a year will this issue matter? If not I make myself let it go. I hope this helps!!!
Avatar f tn t like listening to the same old tired music I used to like over and over. Jazz is the only music I can really listen to anymore without thinking thoughts. Any more info would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn Just try and stay calm. Take slow deep breaths with your eyes closed and try and center yourself. I have asthma and Anxiety and sometimes I have to take my inhaler for me to realize, nope it isn't an Asthma Attack, it's Anxiety. So I just do the slow deep breaths and try and center myself. If that doesn't work, music is my escape. I choose a music that is calm that I enjoy and put on headphones and close my eyes and let the world disappear. That helps me.
Avatar n tn Stress and worry can cause palpitations. Try listening to a meditation relaxation tape or read a self help positive book, that seems to work for me.I go thru the same things when I have too much stress or worry on my mind, it feels like I can feel my heart jumping right out of my chest. I take a few long deep breaths then it calms me down and my heart to relax..
Avatar n tn Have you tried meditation music?
Avatar f tn Generally I handle stress really well. Infact I enjoy the pressure of "last minute". I perform better I guess. But generally the way I handle stress is listening to music. Sometimes it's my gave radio show, music on my iPod. Or going on YouTube and searching for a type of music. I also go for walks. Usually I go to a local walking path and put calm music on my iPod very quietly (background music) and just enjoy the nature around me.

Avatar f tn think of your baby try meditation go for walks at the park or beach, read books , dance or listen to music keep your self distracted, me now its been 4 months I left him I don't feel stress nor anything I couldn't be happier
Avatar f tn It was developed by Jon Kabat Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Stress Reduction Clinic. The type of meditation sounds alot like TS Geare described to you in that you don't try to force your thoughts away. You focus on your breathing to keep you in the present moment. When thoughts intrude, you acknowledge them and then go back to your breathing. By doing this, you become aware of your thoughts and how they efffect you.
Avatar f tn Just breathe. Stress isn't good for the baby.
