728965 tn?1266373645 I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried going to a pain management specialist for fibro? If they even know how to help. Every time I go to my reg. doc I pass by an office and have been tempted to check it out. I don't even know how that works with my insurance... Anyhow, whats everyone's experiences with these guys if anyone has??
Avatar f tn Hi everyone... I have a question, my doctor referred me to a pain specialist. Tomarrow is my appointment, I have been battling with my addiction to codine and so far Im doing really good. I take not even half of what i use to. And I only take them when i have to have them for pain. But what exactly is methadone and suboxone? Will he give me that, and if so, it sounds like it is addictive.. And i don't want to start another medication that is addictive..
5097121 tn?1466787392 When our bodies are feeling good, we usually feel good emotionally, so in turn, taking care of your body is very beneficial for stress management, for instance, getting a sufficient quantity AND quality of sleep, eating properly (including a healthy/balanced diet), staying active. Staying away from things like smoking, drinking, overindulging with food are a given. Minimizing intake of things like caffeine is a good idea. ---->Additionally, we have to set REALISTIC daily goals.
Avatar f tn So I'm 26 days clean. Had an appointment with the doctor yesterday; he listened VERY carefully to my lungs, and said they are perfectly crisp and clear. So. The hacking dry cough that persists is a w/d symptom. Then, I ventured to my NEXT appointment: A "Pain Management Clinic." It ended up being a total failure. First off, the office suite smelled like urine. The ladies room wansn't clean. The receptionist was HUGE and hacking up a very productive cough...
Avatar f tn Stress can hurt the baby but it takes a lot to. Me and my boyfriend fight so bad all the time now bc I'm so hormonal! I get cramps afterwards sometimes but other then that everything is okay with the baby. Its normal to get crazy every now and then especially being pregnant now!
Avatar m tn Were you seeing a pain specialist before or were you seeing your family Dr?I'm asking because if was your family Dr some of them know little about how to manage chronic pain. A pain specialist does. That's what I would recommend, getting in to see a pain specialist. Ask your family Dr to recommend one or you can do your own research on the internet to find one with high patient ratings. One that truly understands their patients and their needs.
Avatar m tn Done with the brain MRI and EEG (both normal), Done with all cardiac test including stress test (all normal), Vitamin D was low 14.. consulted Encronologist.. and taking medicine. At last Gastero doctor asked for endoscopy. In this found severe esophogus infection and polyps development (which sent for biopsy test) and given me 3 months medicine. But he told that it is the cause of your nausea for sure. but dont know about the lightheadedness.
Avatar m tn Hello~One culprit that my naturopath shared was a weakened immune system and also weak adrenal glands. I had lots of food allergies when younger, mine were due to stress and over-worked adrenals. I took a good, high potency B complex and this seemed to help.
Avatar f tn hi i'm new to the group and happy to find some info on IC. I have had out infections my whole life or so i thought! 2 yrs. ago i had another doctor for a few months while mine was on maternity leave after going in every 2 to 4 weeks with a uti she said "this is not normal and im going to start testing yr. urine."...all the further tests came back negative for bacteria but there is always blood and protein in my urine. So she said i have IC and there is no known cure....
Avatar m tn You need to ask your doctor. Opiates are a crap shoot because every patient responds a little differently to different medications. Different types of pain also call for different medications, and they aren't always opiates. Are you currently seeing a pain specialist?
Avatar f tn Consider mouth guard and/or stress/anxiety management.

Avatar f tn It sometimes help, but when the pain is really bad none of those medications help. Does anyone have any experience and/or success with a pain management doctor? What do they do for you? I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to consider. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have had blood work that came up fine and the only thing the doctor saw in my MRI's was fluid in the wrist, the x-rays are fine. He gave me a cordizone shot a week ago, but my wrist has not gotten any better. I can barely grip with my left hand, and if I fall or try to get up with the support of my left wrist, the hand/wrist gives out and there is very bad pain.
Avatar f tn I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician or a sports medicine specialist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Meanwhile rest would be advised along with tylenol for symptomatic control. Hope this helps. Take care!
