Avatar f tn It sometimes help, but when the pain is really bad none of those medications help. Does anyone have any experience and/or success with a pain management doctor? What do they do for you? I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to consider. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Fatigue management is becoming a growing area of interest and research in Australia mainly due to the mining boom. As it becomes more a topic of interest this can only benefit other workers such police, nurses and other shift workers. That's why I started my blog: http://fatiguemanagementblog.wordpress.com/ so we could share experiences. Would be great to hear from anyone on how they manage their fatigue from varying shifts.
Avatar m tn Assuming this to be a focal degeneration of the patellar tendon/ patellar tendinopathy the decision between conservative management and a surgical repair would depend on the severity, response to previous conservative management (atleast 6 months), the healing process and the expected response to a surgical intervention. Aprotinin is a drug that may help prevent further tendon degeneration. I am still of the opinion to seek a second opinion before confirming to a decision. Take care!
9771234 tn?1405793808 I grew up military so doesn't bother me much but when you marry military man you marry the military also. ***** i know but you have to be patient and understanding how it is being a dependent. It's frustrating and you wanna scream at times but always remember that it's you he comes home to so try not to be so hard on him.
5097121 tn?1466787392 When our bodies are feeling good, we usually feel good emotionally, so in turn, taking care of your body is very beneficial for stress management, for instance, getting a sufficient quantity AND quality of sleep, eating properly (including a healthy/balanced diet), staying active. Staying away from things like smoking, drinking, overindulging with food are a given. Minimizing intake of things like caffeine is a good idea. ---->Additionally, we have to set REALISTIC daily goals.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend is considering going into the military while I'm expecting.....is this a good or bad thing???? I'm trying not to stress out about the fact of possibly going through the pregnancy alone while he's away, but what's the bright side to this option????? Also, what kind of living arrangements and accommodations are available, if any, for me and the child in year's to come while he's away????
Avatar f tn Has anyone here bad a baby on a military base? Im due in 5 weeks and am nervous about delivering on base. Ive heard horror stories and the lack of a nursery and nicu scares me. Just want to know if anyone has any tips or advice.
Avatar f tn Stress can hurt the baby but it takes a lot to. Me and my boyfriend fight so bad all the time now bc I'm so hormonal! I get cramps afterwards sometimes but other then that everything is okay with the baby. Its normal to get crazy every now and then especially being pregnant now!
Avatar m tn Post traumatic STRESS syndrome. the key word being stress. I dont think that the ptsd so much caused the ms but the MS is made worse by the PTSD. as we all know stress makes the ms worse. So I agree that if you have been dxed with ptsd and then develope ms later on down the road - why could you not say that the ptsd makes the ms worse ?
Avatar m tn My doctor said it was allergy based which makes sense because it is accompanied by varying ear pain, nasal drainage and an itchy throat. I have been put on Allegra-D which drastically reduced the symptoms. I am a military aviator and I'm restricted from taking certain medicines. The last six months, I have been in a non flight duty and started taking benadryl which I am normally restricted from taking due to the drowsiness side effects.
1237757 tn?1323143119 I have a friend that returned from active duty in Afghanistan who is struggling settling back home. They think they have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (which I think they have as well) and to top it off there previous partner who was bipolar committed suicide and they haven't really dealt with that yet as well. They keep getting moved about with postings and as much as they have tried have been unable to get in to see a military psychologist for over 8 months now.
Avatar n tn If your PTS is because of a military experience, then the military should provide some kind of assistance in counseling. hope any of this helped!!

Avatar f tn The dostors were hoping it would get better with time but it just got worse. I go to a Military clinic for regular stuff like a cold or flu ect... and they are not good Doctors at all. There answer to everything is motrin and prozac but finally they got a civilian PA there that had worked in Pain Managment for years and they let him start a pain clinic at the military facility. He was great and he took his time and listened to his patients.
Avatar f tn 1. You dont marry into the military. You marry someone in the military.. 2 military life is hard? Yes, for the service member. Bc you my dear aren't in the military.. 3. Avatar f tn There are certain rules in the military in relation to both diseases and I want to make sure I am diagnosed properly so if they decide I am not fit for duty that I am compensated properly. I have deployed ten times and I know that some of the situations that I have been in could cause the Anxiety portion, but I dont think that I can prove that if I have ADD that it was caused or started while I was in the military.
Avatar f tn We are in the military. My husband deployed two years ago. Before he left, my then, k/1st grade son started hitting his classmates and saying bad words and completely disconnect himself from class. I was forced to get him evaluated but nothing came of it. Now, my husand is leaving again, this time for one year. He's displaying the same pattern. We have him involved with a counseling program, but two days into school and he's already physically hurt two kids.
388423 tn?1208308371 My question to you is what are the normal side effects to this kind of pain management and does it work? I am concerned that it is just masking the pain and I will do something silly and injure myself more. Also, I have been having hot flashes (It is 32 degrees outside right now and I have the windows in the house open.) I also cannot sleep at night with out taking something to make me sleepy. My pain is not gone and I still have to take my pain medication on a regular basis.
Avatar m tn do hard impact contact to the ground in 5 or 6 different areas of the body ,cause changes that later turn painful ,cronic , such as parachute landing ,feet knee ,arm, shoulder in the military they teach you to land with least amount of trama to the body , this was not allways easy to do and i feel the injurys way after the service, cervical ,and lumbar and knee problems all extremly painfull and seem to be worse each year?
572651 tn?1530999357 The authors speculate about why the benefits of the stress management treatment did not last beyond the 24-week treatment period. One possibility they point out is that participants may require longer treatment to learn to maintain the stress-reducing behaviors on their own.
317787 tn?1473358451 I was on a blog about the poor people going through flooding in various states when I came across someone in Texas mentioning this. They said it was a military exercise however their governor has told his state troopers to keep an eye on them during this exercise which includes 7 states. Being the nosy/inquisitive person I am I looked it up. There is a lot out there but I was trying to find mainstream news on the subject. Not sure this is it but still curious.
Avatar m tn It is possible to continue to have a stress fracture over months when it is not given due attention and appropriate care. Conservative management of stress fracture should aim at movement restriction and non-weightbearing for atleast 6-8 weeks, while stressful activities should be resumed gradually after 12-16 weeks. The duration of rest would also depend on the severity of the fracture and the healing response. For severe or non-healing fractures, surgery may need to be considered.
