759386 tn?1324562124 I have tried acupuncture for headaches and it really helped to reduce the frequency of headaches... BUT I found that getting needles in my neck REALLY triggered extreme headaches and nausea and a lot of other bad feelings even though this is where a lot of the areas for headache treatment actually are located for acupuncture. I also get trigger point shots... like nerve block things, with needles full of medication, at my GPs office...
Avatar m tn Can you give us a little more information about what kind of pain your experiencing (Meaning, where does your pain come from)? Is it acute or chronic-pain? Different medications work differently for different people. Also, some medications work better for some types of pain than for others. If you could give a little more information about the specifics of your pain, it'll help a great deal. Keep in mind that we're not doctors (at least I'M not!
Avatar n tn Hi Scrubby, Geminigirl has provided you with the right information. Medicaid does vary from state to state to a degree. I've never been on the program so I have limited information but it's my understanding if they decline payment you have options. IF your medical provider deems in a necessity it's usually covered. Your PCP/PMP may have to write some letters for an exception but if that happens it's usually approved. Please share with us how this turns out for you.

Avatar f tn Hi my name is Lisa, on Wednesday I started subutex after detoxing off fentanyl 100mcg and dilaudid. My pain management dr put me on subtext 8mg sublingual twice a day. I know my body is still adjusting, but I feel like at around noon I start to feel anxious. I'm just not sure if I should ask my dr. for an increase in dosage or just deal with it. I just don't want to fail. I've been searching for a chat room or just anyone to communicate with. I feel so lonely and scared.
Avatar m tn NEXT, the doctor hurt his hand and cannot give me the shots and referred me to another doctor. The paper work was a nightmare but when i called my sport doctor for information, his office said, he is now giving shots again. This is just one example of the Medicare nightmares I have gone through. When in doubt, report it to Medicare with name and info. There are SOME caring people at Medicare that actually do listen. I was just lucky this time but give it a try.

Avatar m tn Hello: The answer is NO. Fentanyl is the strongest of the opiates and you would be taking a huge step down. I tried replacing Fentanyl with Oxycontin and went into W/D's. I spent the weekend like that as the switch happened on a Friday. Monday morning I was back on the Fentanyl. The Doctor had suspected that this may happen. To give to insight, I was on a 75mcg patch and replaced it with 40mg of Oxycontin every 6 hrs. That was not nearly enough. I would suggest that you not do that.
572651 tn?1530999357 The authors speculate about why the benefits of the stress management treatment did not last beyond the 24-week treatment period. One possibility they point out is that participants may require longer treatment to learn to maintain the stress-reducing behaviors on their own.
Avatar m tn It is possible to continue to have a stress fracture over months when it is not given due attention and appropriate care. Conservative management of stress fracture should aim at movement restriction and non-weightbearing for atleast 6-8 weeks, while stressful activities should be resumed gradually after 12-16 weeks. The duration of rest would also depend on the severity of the fracture and the healing response. For severe or non-healing fractures, surgery may need to be considered.
Avatar m tn Fatigue management is becoming a growing area of interest and research in Australia mainly due to the mining boom. As it becomes more a topic of interest this can only benefit other workers such police, nurses and other shift workers. That's why I started my blog: http://fatiguemanagementblog.wordpress.com/ so we could share experiences. Would be great to hear from anyone on how they manage their fatigue from varying shifts.
