1042948 tn?1253199221 What type of headache did the doctor say she had? Migraine? Cluster? Tension-type? Or sinus? It is important to know that before we start making suggestions for life-style changes and possible daily medications... because the treatments will be different depending on the different types of headaches. There are usually no cures for headaches unless the headache is being caused by some fixable physical problem such as a tumor... but, the doctor would have diagnosed such a problem already.

Avatar f tn My 28 year old daughter has had a debilitating headache since last Friday (29th). The pain is so severe she is reduced to tears, unable to function without increasing the pain level, and now nausea is constantly present. She initially thought it might be meningitis (sp) and went to the emergency room, both because of this thought and because the pain was so severe she could no longer cope. The performed CT scan and spinal tap, all tests came up negative.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Let's liken it to a migraine. Migraines are caused, usually, by a period of constriction of the blood vessels during stress, then when the stress eases, the blood vessels in the brain open up before the ones in the extremities do, forcing most of the blood to the head and producing the vascular headache. This might be similar to what's happening with you -- the stress is causing constriction of the blood vessels.
Avatar m tn This could be due to primary headaches such as tension headache, often associated with stress as well as exertion headache which occurs during or after an exertion like running. If it has been happening for months already, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor or be referred to a neurologist. Avoidance of triggers and prescription medication may help. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar m tn If this causes temporary or permanent cure of headache, the diagnosis of spontaneous intracranial hypotension is confirmed. Other tests are a spinal tap and measuring the pressure. Although spinal fluid pressure is usually low in patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension, it can be occasionally normal due to variations in the spinal fluid pressure. A dye can be injected into the spinal fluid and entire spine’s CT scan is taken to locate the leak. Please discuss this with a neurologist.
Avatar m tn It never goes away, It moves around to different areas of my head, and the only thing headache meds do is make it tolerable. I have been on many different meds, including Imetrex. I found out last year that I'm allergic to Imetrex, It made my headcahe worse. I had an MRI done last year and found nothing. I would really like to know the cause of these, and if possible a cure. I don't know what to do anymore, and my doctors have no idea what to do either.
Avatar f tn I've made it 33 weeks... I've been having severe headache, my doctor said its okay to take Tylenol but there has to be a reason they say dont take that stuff in the third trimester, right? I just don't want to risk my baby's life over a freaking headache. However, these headache put my body under stress, I get hot and nauseous... whats worse? I've made it so far and any risk seems to much...

Avatar n tn I also had a stress test this week. and like you, I had a Thallium test as there is a national shortage of myoview. Any strong headache should be reported to your doctor, and at the same time, several aspirin tablets should be ingested. That being said, I'm betting you were told not to have any beta blockers, in my case no slow-release nitro pills, and certainly no caffeine. Withdrawing from these products all could result in a headache.
Avatar n tn I had another doctor tell me that was ****. This is not a sinus headache. I have had several of those, this headache does not have congestion with it. I went to my eye doctor also and they said my eye was perfectly healthy. Up until now, I have not been a headache sufferer - I rarely get headaches at all. There is no stress, I am a teacher who was off for the summer. I have had a cat scan which revealed nothing. I have been told I do not have a brain tumor or meningitis.
Avatar m tn New research is showing that migraines have different symptoms. I only had the headache aspect of a migraine occasionally. My most noticable migraine symptoms have been plugged ear, off balance, nausea, foggy head/difficulty concentrating and fatigue. I've had all of these on a daily basis for over a year now. I am going to try avoiding certain foods including my life long love affair with heavy coffee drinking. I am not going to try the medication.
Avatar n tn How far along are you? I'm not sure about stress, but my OB agrees to 2-3 weeks before due date for pain, swollen feet.. medical stuff. Its really on your employer and how long they are going to allow you to have leave. My employer only allows 6-7 weeks of leave. Depending on if your Dr okays to go back to work PP.
