Then bam! The result showed that i have uti! I thought it was just some kind of yeast infection cos i dont feel symptoms of uti. No backpain no pain in urinating at all. The normal bacteria/infection count is 0-2 but mine is 15! She immediately prescribed me antibiotics to kill the infection. I will have another urine check tom to see if the infection is all clear. It's better safe than sorry and i think we know our body well enough so listen to what you body tells you.
Could the urinary infection or penicillin affect the test and is ten weeks long enough to test accuratly?I know 12 weeks is the usual time but do you think 10 weeks was good enough.
Hi, the symptoms described could be due to an infection, most probably streptococcal or a viral infection. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain.
I may be completely wrong and just have strep throat or the early stages of pneumonia (some of my friends have both of those, and I've been around them in the last few days), but I figured I would ask on here. I'm not sure what the typical time frame is for symptoms to appear, and I read that gonorrhea of the throat is typically asymptomatic.

m not sure that is what would of caused you to miscarry though. Strep b is a bacterial infection that can cause problems if left untreated when you deliver. I haven't heard it to cause any complications during the actual pregnancy but I could be wrong. What they do is when you go to deliever your baby they put antibiotics in your iv 4 hours before you give birth to prevent it going to the baby. As long as you get the antibiotics the chance of it passing is extremely slim.

If the doctor believe it requires treatment, a simple round of common antibiotics will be prescribed. You did not and could not have given this to her.
Usually with a bad strep infection you would get a fever of about 100 or more. Some viruses would cause a fever too. The other poster brought up a good point is that you could also get tested for Gonorrhoeae or GC of the throat. So if you are not better you should see a doctor and discuss some of these issues.

First time vaginal swab (and cervix) was investigated, strep beta hemolytic group b was found. 10days Xiclav therapy was prescribed. After that, strep was gone, but e colli was there, so Bactrim was prescribed for 5 days. 3rd time only enterococcus faecalis was reported and nothing was prescribed until after 20days the doctor repeated examination. 4th swab indicated presence of strep b (second time) and enterococcus faecalis, amoxiscilin is prescribed for 8-10 days.
m kind of freaking out! i thought the sores might just be canker sores and that i might also just have strep, but now that i'm getting more sores, i'm not so sure. also, if this is a primary outbreak, how long should i expect it to last? i am seeing my boyfriend again in a week and want to know whether i shouldn't kiss him, etc. it started on monday, btw.

I've had strep before... believe me, if you had it, you wouldn't question if it were strep =) Strep usually gives you the white spots, so while it MAY be that, it's probably not. I suspect a lingering illness based on you being a smoker and recently having a sinus infection. Mucus can drip from your sinuses to your throat and cause all sorts of fun inflammation, and smoking would just irritate your throat further.
Except for a low growth of Group B strep. The discharge has a burning sensation, I have stomach pains, pain sometimes with sex, painful periods, excessive lubrication with sex.. There isnt a stong odor however. My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection).

If he had a strep infection and still has a sore throat, then your child's physician should order an ASO titer and find out whether or not the antibiotics completely killed his previous strep infection. If not, he needs to get on a new antibiotic ASAP.
So about 5 almost 6 months ago I had a very bad throat infection that was very similar to strep. I had 1 rapid strep test and 2 throat cultures in the span of 1 month and all of these were normal. Also for the past 5 months all tests I have done have been mostly normal.
I do have high blood pressure now, the lymph nodes under my neck have been swollen for 4/5 months, sometimes have lower abdominal pain, and get frequent hot flashes.
I just got over having a yeast infection, I'm supposed to get my group B Strep test next Tuesday. Does anyone know if the result of the test will be affected since I had the previous yeast infection or is that something totally different? Is the yeast infection something I should bring up to my doctor during the appt on Tuesday? Any help will be appreciated!
I was tested for strep and mono. Strep came back positive (Strep C) and negative for mono. I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared. My original symptoms were gone so I didn't bother taking the rest of the antibiotic. (I know, my fault).
