Strattera like adderall

Common Questions and Answers about Strattera like adderall

strattera

Avatar m tn ve been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
Avatar f tn Strattera, Adderall XR, Vyvanse, and Daytrana are medications I have taken, my brother takes Concerta. Vyvanse and Adderall XR are the only meds I can take. I have a real sensitive stomach and immune system, and am allergic to a lot so I would think that you can handle most of these.
990354 tn?1307132886 I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!
Avatar m tn and is it safe to take lexapro and ginko biloba untill i get insurance to get strattera ...God i feel like a mess. Cant read a sentence without forgetting what i just read. My mind is racing constantly. any info would help...
Avatar n tn Feeling better after a few months I told my doctor that I still felt a little spacey. She prescribed adderall. People with ADHD like myself who take a stimulant like this get a reverse effect. I am now for the first time in 42 years able to stay on task without having to be ineracting with something like a guitar or golf clubs which I am highly accomplished in both. I use to alway have to be working with a tangible object to stay focused and sometimes that became difficult.
428176 tn?1205555587 Serequel really helped me. I have ADHD too so after 4 months on Serequel, they put me on Strattera first. I still seemed spaced out. Then I begged for Adderall after taking 3 30mg for 3 days my girlfriend got for me as a test. The Adderall has made me a different person. I use to be called ADD boy by my friends parents. LOL The only thing I have to watch is my blood pressure. I'm 42 and the adderall has the reverse affect as that of a normal person. It calms and focuses me.
673186 tn?1225983925 t know all that much about adderall. I did buy it and take it a few times so I know how it makes you feel, but thats about it.If I were to give you an answer here I would have to say that if it's prescribed to her taking any more then the prescribed dose continually is a lot,and if it's not prescribed taking any at all is too much.
889551 tn?1416184483 Hi! I was diagnosed with ADD recently and I'm waiting to get back in to see my psychiatrist. My last office visit we spoke about the possible medications I could choose from if I completed ADD testing with another Psych. He mentioned Strattera (but he said he didn't feel that it worked), Adderall, and Ritalin. I'm currently on abilify and wellbutrin for depression and these meds, along with adderall and ritalin lower the seizure threshold.
Avatar n tn I've been on strattera for two weeks and the only strong side effect I seem to have is that I get really tired or fatigued around 2:00pm. Will this side effect subside over time? Is there anyway to lessen it? I've tried other ADD medications however because they are stimulants I tend to get really agitated or even a little paranoid when I'm on them so I am hoping that Strattera works out ok. Are there any other non-stimulant ADD medications?
Avatar f tn As he was grew up we tried different meds for short periods, but the adderall made his tics worse, the strattera did not do anything ( we recently just tried strattera agan for the recommended time and dosage), in the past 1.5 years he has been involved with pot (it helps his tics) and then moved on to meth. He said he was very focused on the meth and it did not bother his tics. I am completely puzzeled how adderall could have bothered his tics and on meth did not?????
Avatar n tn 15 yr old daughter was diag with adhd 2nd grade - although was family "joke" adhd long before. 1st on adderall with explosive behavior - had to try before could take straterra, insurance. Strattera was fine for sev yrs - although only limited imp - just enough to tolerate her. Problems with social interaction and her mouth - she's constantly argumentative and I believe ODD. After menstruation began, strattera appeared worthless.
Avatar f tn now with that said i have been trying to get treatment for my add and feel like my treatment options are based around my past addiction. i was diagnosed with add in highschool and put on vyvanse for about a year (my parents thought i was too young to be taking stimulants so they took me off it). it worked amazingly with focus and keeping my racing thoughts organized.
Avatar f tn i dont want to stop the meds if they are going to help him. he tired adderall and strattera with the same side affect. can anyone recommend something that will work without him getting sleepy.
Avatar f tn Is there anybody out there who suffers from Hypotyroidsm and ADD. Would like to know what medication your Doctor has you on for ADD and does it do it's job? Thank you all!
Avatar m tn * Stimulant medications, such as dextroamphetamine-based drugs (Adderall, Vyvanese) and methylphenidate-based drugs (Concerta, Daytrana, Ritalin). They are also available as generics. * Nonstimulant medication, such as the antidepressant bupropion (Wellbutrin and generic) or atomoxetine (Strattera), which is not available as a generic.
Avatar m tn My son has ADD, not hyperactive, and was prescribed Adderall after Strattera quit working. The label says it can cause dependency after just as few weeks. How can this be a good drug if he needs to be on it long term? The dose is only 10mg and he is 16 but his dad has an addictive personality (recovering alcoholic) and it scares me. I have only gathered up my courage to give him 1 dose. I know about drug holidays and that is fine but if he doesn't abuse it, can he still get addicted? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I was taking 20mg of adderall xr and went to 60mg of vyvanse which i was told was like taking 25 to 30mg of adderall but i feel like im in some sort of withdrawal from adderall. am i the only one this has happened to?
Avatar n tn The only thing she will prescribe for my ADD is strattera It is better living with the ADD untreated than to use adderall in a situation like this.
Avatar f tn My son who is 9 years old was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 6, we have tried adderall, aderral xr, medate, medadate xr and now have gone throught all MG of daytrana patch. He is also taking .2 clonidine at night to help sleep. He also has ODD, my question is what medication can we try him on now that will MAYBE help with both? We have tried the Tenex smallest dose possiblr 1/4 pill in am. And he just could not function.
Avatar m tn Hi all my doc just prescribed straterra and i will be stopping adderal. Adderal made me super paranoid and angry. Anyone know anything about strattera? Any experience? I'm afraid my add is going to skyrocket since Addy is obviously stronger. I took adderal for about two and a half months.
Avatar f tn d goes into adulthood, belive me it does! I have it extreamly badly, and after a disastor with Rittaline im now on Strattera (atomoxetine, which is not yet licenced in u.k.) is there any other adults out there that have been, like me, misdiagnosed for years because . .. when I was a child a.d.h.d hadent been recognised. Then when I was older it was only recognised in kids, and not in adults?
Avatar n tn Is he taking 36mg plus 36 mg or 18mg plus 18mg?
Avatar m tn strattera, Aderall XR, and Vyvanse, but none of them seem to work. I've asked other people who have taken Adderall what happens to them and they say things like "you can focus on anything so well." When I take it nothing happens. I don't feel any different, it just makes me feel a little less drowsy. I'm supposed to take 50MG every morning, but sometimes I would take 100MG or 150MG just to see if it would work and still nothing happens!!
Avatar f tn My 7 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 4 and has been taking strattera! We added resperidal to try and help his moods last winter. After needing to increase it and having him wet during the day we switched to abilify! I think it is working somewhat although he still has his meltdowns! The dr prescribed concerta now along with the abilify and dropping the strattera.
Avatar f tn I used to only be content when I was in a comfy bed or a warm bath.. It sounds like you need to Add meds. It makes your discontent go away. They are amazing. I'm on Vyvanse.
Avatar n tn gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid. The Wellbutrin is a stimulating anti-depressant.
