strattera

990354 tn?1307132886 Thanks I figured I wouldn't get the buzz but does it work as well as adderall otherwise?? Does it help with the ADD?
Avatar m tn Hepatotoxicity is possible, though of course not probable, with Strattera, and lab work would be ordered before starting it and during tretament with it. In the 3+ years between January of 2005 and April of 2008, a number (6) of caes of liver illness were reported to the FDA. I would suggest talking with the prescribing clinician and reviewing the options. There are alternatives in addition to Strattera.
Avatar n tn So was wondering if anyone else is on a combo like this and it’s helped. And how long. I seem to be anxious more lately before adding Strattera....hoping this helps it. No libido what so ever.
Avatar f tn Because of the way Strattera works, it takes 2 to 4 weeks for it to become effective. Typically, if you are getting side effects, it may be because your dose of Strattera is too high. This is something that you need to discuss with your doc. Any reason you went with Strattera instead of a Methylphenidate type of stim medication? No, I would not try klonopin in the morning. Something like Tenex might be helpful. Tenex, "Can be given 2 or 3 times/day.
Avatar n tn Straterra is an anti-depressant type of medication. They use it for adhd and to stabilize behaviors/moods with children and adults. Though its rate of success isn't as high in children as adults it does work with some. Your son is too young for them to classify him as bi-polar, but ODD with the mood swings sounds more like that is the diagnosis you might be looking at, I am not a doctor, but you may want to ask. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Im a 34 year old female just diagnosed with ADD. my dr out me on strattera because of an existing heart problem. I started it 5 days ago. the 1st day i took it at 8am. by 12 i couldnt keep my head off my desk. and i killed my scalp with my letter opener. i felt like i had bugs all in my head. the next day i took it at 1pm. same thing. im taking it later at night so i can hopefully sleep through all of the "bugs". has anyone else had itching as a side effect?
Avatar n tn Not being familiar with the properties of Strattera what does it do . .is it a muscle relaxer as it works for his ADD condition? Just curious as i really don't have an answer but trying to figure it out with you .. there are some other great people here who may have ideas and even some products outside of Prevacid are mentioned in the archives worth looking into perhaps. Could it be the combo of the two meds are causing the reflux ?
Avatar n tn ve been taking strattrea 25mg for 1 week 40 for 1 week 60 for 2 weeks now my dosage has been increased to 80 i really want this to work...i feel tired all the time how much longer should it take for the effects to kick in?
Avatar f tn Hummm, the problem is that strattera is not a stimulant, which is probably why it was prescribed to your son, and I can not find Raynard's symptoms listed as any side effect of strattera. "Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggeration of vasomotor responses to cold or emotional stress." ADHD can cause a lot of emotional stress. You really need to talk with your doctor. You also need to do some research as allmymarbles suggested.
Avatar m tn I've been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
Avatar n tn The Adderal XR was effective at combating my ADHD symptoms but made my anxiety worse, so my doctor prescribed Strattera. I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms.
Avatar m tn Strattera should work better, but it may take up to 4 weeks to feel full effect. Sounds like your doc is taking it slowly - which is a good idea! I personally don't know of anybody on both, but I can understand why they both might be prescribed. Would think that the main problem might be a sleepy feeling. Do let your doc know how things are going.
Avatar n tn Anyway my Doc gave me Strattera and the 3rd day on it I felt dizzy and confused, I felt over anxious and felt like I was loosing my mind. I had been on dexadrine years ago for depression after a hysterectomy at age 27 and I told him that my life came together on it but he gave me Strattera. I told him I really wasn't feeling the Strattera and could i please get enough adderal until the Strattera kicked in. He originally had boo hooed any narcotic adhd meds.
Avatar n tn hey my diagnoses is bipolar depression i take 150 zoloft,50naltrexone,60mg inderol,trileptal 900,stelazine 6mg,cogentin 0.
Avatar m tn Does strattera give any false positive reading for a urine or hair follicle test? Would it come up as a amphetamine or methamphetamine, or any other illegal substance?
Avatar n tn I take my strattera before bed I wake up feeling normal and can focus. I don't know why they say to take it in the morning.
Avatar f tn I have a child that has ADHD. I though that going only with vitamins and diet was going to just be our thing. I made my child suffer :( After a year of bad grades in school (no behavior problems) I did put him on medication. WOW what a difference. It took a few tries and yes it was a little frustrating, but seeing him make A B honor roll again was wonderful. He is like a different person.
Avatar m tn Sounds like an overdose. Talk to your doc. Also for some people, strattera does not work as we'll as the stim meds.
Avatar f tn t been on medicine for it since college. Starts out with my former medicine, strattera, but when I would take it I felt my heart was out of control and my blood pressure went up. Now on wellbutrin for about a week but I feel foggy and it is causing worse ibs. Not sure if that side effect will go away but giving it a try. My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now.
Avatar m tn ask your Dr. about Strattera. It is prescribed for Attention Deficit disorder, but is not a stimulant. It is non-addictive and not a controlled substance. It also has some of the same properties as SSNRI's. Since it affects neurotransmitters it is a very useful drug.
Avatar f tn Hi there. There is a book called by Susan Ashley that I need to look up the title for you as it is really good at understanding the ins and outs of add/adhd. The issue with kids with nervous system issues is that they are often 'unregulated'. They have issues with modulation which is how they handle their emotions. The process that others go through with anger, frustration,, and sadness are speeded up and much more of a base level reaction.
