3062924 tn?1350414109 So I hope this is our big storm and that's it. I'd rather have this hurricane than a snow storm any day. Hope all the east coasters stay safe.
Avatar f tn My College refuses to close due to the nasty storm and I have to Drive in order to get to school in the heaviest the wind is gonna get. I dont wanna harm the baby though. If I do end up going and getting into an accident What is my risk of harming my baby? Are there any tips as to What I can do to make the trip there easier on me?
Avatar f tn t anything to do with my thyroid can be caused by having Thyroid Storm and to top it off Thyroid Storm can be caused by having a baby which I did just 8 months ago!
458072 tn?1291415186 Thanks for explaining that question AR, I didn't know what a thyroid storm was.
Avatar n tn I did have one storm before RAI, but also another one after wards, that is why I had to have the TT, my heart was not slowing down any. My doctor told me my thyroid was not slowing down fast enough for my organs to catch up, that waiting for the RAI to kill it off was not an option in my case, so did the TT two days later. I was a strange case though. Your body sounded like it was adjusting , although I NEVER fainted with a storm, I was bouncing off walls.
Avatar n tn You get over medicated. Too much medication. I have been over medicated before and became hyper years after my TT. You could also have re growth of remaining thyroid tissue. It has happened, rare, but it does. If you are getting hyper symptoms please let your doctor know. That is why you need to make sure you get your levels checked periodically.
1454777 tn?1288839052 Has any of you ever had a thyroid storm? If so, what was it like. I think I have had two, the first time, the er told me I was having a panic attach and sent me home, and I told them it was not, I had panic attacks before, but never like this. I happened again two days ago, but not nearly as severe. I stayed calm, even though it was hard to breathe. Last time and this time, I was out of it for a few days after.
Avatar f tn There might be alternatives to drugs for this. You could try...? If it doesn't work, well you tried. When there is a storm, I act as if it is fun. My dog responds to my mood. I get Misty's toys out, and we play. I do not hold her/comfort her/hide her under the duvet/ etc, or make like it's anything to be scared about. When the lightning comes I say "Ooh! What's THAT?" When the thunder comes I go "Wow!!" She almost LIKES thunderstorms now.
Avatar n tn That isn't a thyroid storm. A thyroid storm is an emergency situation and requires medical intervention. What you probably had was a whole mess of symptoms from being hypo and having high antibodies. The thyroid regulates body temp so that was probably the start of that attack. It is very difficult for some of us to be out in the heat doing anything physical, let alone just sitting. :) I always use an ice pack behind my neck and in front to cool myself down when that starts happening to me.
1570846 tn?1295829627 So before the storm began my symptoms started getting worse. I called the Neuro and the told me to us ea wheel chair for safety until my appointment due to me having random blackouts. Which i had one in the shower last night. So today we have this huge storm with 13 inches of snow and now the pressure in my head since yesterday is so bad i cant see straight.
Avatar n tn Hey Doc, I had papillary cancer about 6 years ago. I just switched from synthroid to levothyroxine about a week ago, and now I'm itching like crazy! My arms and legs mostly. It's unbelievable. Is their enough of a difference between the two drugs to cause such side affects? Please help! I'm itching up a storm! And switching to levothyroxine is the ONLY thing that I have changed! Thanks!
Avatar n tn Have you been tested for Graves Disease and/or Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? Both of these are autoimmune conditions that present with hyperthyroidism (low TSH and Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper ranges - that's assuming you had the FREE T4 and FREE T3 tested vs Total T4 and Total T3... It's not just carbimazole that can cause swelling of the thyroid or nodular enlargement. So can thyroid conditions, in general.
1308034 tn?1337644984 What were the symptoms???
Avatar f tn I would tend to reverse them and choose between Titan Storm and Hueston Storm. That way, if little Storm wants to go by Storm, he can (a lot of people go by their middle names), but he is not stuck with living up to it if he happens to want to be a milder boy.
2179775 tn?1337729186 My doctor thinks i am having a thyroid crisis, or thyroid storm. Can this be?? I realize i should now be in hospital, but i hate hospitals and will be last resort, my only relief is to get to sleep, which is pretty impossible. I also have intermittent rashes, vommiting, or trying to, and a terrible feeling of anxiety. Please give me some advice, this is the most awful feeling.
Avatar f tn ve felt kinda neaseous and achy the past couple of days but today I feel fantastic no nausea no achiness is there like a calm before the storm kinda thing when ur pregnant. It just reminds of like the eye of a hurricane I feel like I feel too good lol. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I am not a Dr by any means, but I thought if you were going into a "Thyroid Storm", you would need medical treatment ASAP!!?? I dont think "thyroid storm" just hits in the evening and then eases up and comes back every night. I truly feel Thyroid Storm is a life threatening medical emergency that needs treatment right away..
486038 tn?1300063367 Thoughts and Prayers go out to those affected by Tropical Storm Fay... it's flooded, rained and blown it's way across most of Florida and we here in Alabama will feel Fay's rain this week-end as well. Here, the Bay is dry as it has blown all the water out and by morning it is expected to be high tide and at the same time high winds to push it all the water up the bay along with a foot or two of rain so we expect some flooding. This is a small storm (low winds) with a lot of rain...
