my dad has been having trouble with his chest since he was bit on the head last year by a black widow in sierra leone,i'v just been on the phone with him for him to tell me he's been gettin chest pains throughout the day and this afternoon it looked like something inside was sucking in his chest and like something was wriggling/crawling around in there,he said that lasted over an hour,him and my mum could both see this happening,what do you think it could be?

well its like this: i went to uams in little rock arkansas for help with the type 1 stage 4 hep c for a year and a half. after that time i asked the dr. why i haven't been put on pegasus and he said he was afraid it might kill me due to having an ammonia attack 8 months pryor. i stated the fact to him that i had been given 3 to 4 years to live and i would rather die from trying to put this disease "under arrest" than to die from.

t anything to do with my thyroid can be caused by having Thyroid Storm and to top it off Thyroid Storm can be caused by having a baby which I did just 8 months ago!

Hey Doc, I had papillary cancer about 6 years ago. I just switched from synthroid to levothyroxine about a week ago, and now I'm itching like crazy! My arms and legs mostly. It's unbelievable. Is their enough of a difference between the two drugs to cause such side affects? Please help! I'm itching up a storm! And switching to levothyroxine is the ONLY thing that I have changed! Thanks!

Have you been tested for Graves Disease and/or Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? It's not just carbimazole that can cause swelling of the thyroid or nodular enlargement. So can thyroid conditions, in general.

I am scheduled for another uptake scan Mon. And Tue....I am also worried about thyroid storm, since I am short of breath lately. Does anyone have a similar pattern and what was done? BTW...my last uptake scan showed both solid and colliod nodules, along with several toxic (hot) nodules...one being much larger than the others....help if you have any advice, thanks.

I just got an email alert from my local weather thingy-majigg and we now have another winter storm warning for snow tonight (just got 12" saturday!) and windchill warning as well. 40 mph winds expected- blowing snow, no visibility and windchills -15 below zero or worse!
