I was a bit drunk at a party and went to light a cigarette, but it was windy and I accidentally inhaled some of the fumes when the flame went out due to inattention. Should I be concerned? I've felt a tad out of it, but I don't know if that's from worrying about this or from the inhalation. I just don't know how toxic a gasp of butane is, and the internet is mostly filled with horror stories about huffing.

I have Hep C, geno type 1, went through 66 wks of Pegasis and interferon,, level went down to zero at wk 15 but levels came back after 6 wks of stopping treatment. I am thinking about getting involved with a research study with Boceprevir and Pegasis and interferon but am concerned that I may end up with the Palcebo. Any thoughts if I should just wait for the FDA approval or go ahead and do the research drugs?

Hey Doc, I had papillary cancer about 6 years ago. I just switched from synthroid to levothyroxine about a week ago, and now I'm itching like crazy! My arms and legs mostly. It's unbelievable. Is their enough of a difference between the two drugs to cause such side affects? Please help! I'm itching up a storm! And switching to levothyroxine is the ONLY thing that I have changed! Thanks!

Have you been tested for Graves Disease and/or Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? Both of these are autoimmune conditions that present with hyperthyroidism (low TSH and Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper ranges - that's assuming you had the FREE T4 and FREE T3 tested vs Total T4 and Total T3... It's not just carbimazole that can cause swelling of the thyroid or nodular enlargement. So can thyroid conditions, in general.

My treatment has started in August 2009. I had a form 3 of Hepatitis C and, unfortunately, cirrhosis. The virus load was around 320,000. However, after 4 weeks it became only 600.00; after week 12 it was undetectable. This month, during my annual tests, doctor asked me to also take Anti HCV test with following result: POSITIVE with value 2.952 (cutoff rate: 0.150) Does it mean that: Hepatitis C has relapsed? Result just indicates that antibodies are prent.
