wellbutrin is great also to stop smoking but it is also and antidepressant. Also if you take it make sure to keep an eye on your blood pressure. It raised mine through the roof with no blood pressure problems to begin with.

I have never used wellbutrin for weight loss, but I was given a script for it once to help stop smoking. I took it for about 3 months; it didn't help me stop smoking, nor did it help me lose weight. You would need to talk to your doctor about getting off it safely.

m on 10mg of Prozac and have noticed some weight gain within the past 2 months or so and my doctor has suggested I start taking Wellbutrin along with the Prozac but my biggest concern is having panic attacks. I suffer from panic disorder w/ agoraphobia and the Prozac has been helping but I'm afraid that adding on the Wellbutrin may counteract that. (I know it is considered a stimulant for a lot of people - hence the usual weight loss.

Wellbutrin will not be effective for anxiety because it increases your catecholamine levels (dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine) which are all excitatory neurotransmitters. t have an issue with food even when quitting smoking, so all I can do is pray for you and hope someone will come along with a comforting idea. I would suggest walking when these urges get so strong, but far too cold for you guys there in Canada. my wife is taking chantix to stop smoking and when she finishes the first month of chantix can she then take welbutrin as it is not as strong. The chantix is giving her bad dreams.

Hi, I am taking 30mg remeron a day, I need it for anxiety, light depression and sleeping difficulty. My problem is that I also have a too high sexdrive, and am trying to stop smoking. Does anyone have advice on what other antidepressant would be better for me? Remeron is ok, but not helping with the sexdrive and smoking. Also, if you know a better med for me, how do I switch this new med with the remeron I'm taking. I don't really want to take more than one.

wellbutrin seems to depress the "craving center"...i was able to cut back on smoking while i was on it....i'm not sure about long term effects, i ended up with a skin rash...turns out it was a morphine reaction...(mildly allergic to what i'm addicted to, hahaha), the doctor thought it was from the wellbutrin and d/c it. it's an antidepressant...and it can be addicting too. if you have a doctor you may want to involve them to help you kick the vics....

He then prescribed Wellbutrin which I thought was strange because all the research I had done said it was for depression and to help one to stop smoking. I took it anyway and within 3 weeks I felt better than I had in years. This past couple weeks I felt I was slipping backwards so I went back to the Doctor and he increased the dose to 300mg. Wellbutrin 150 mg xl worked great for me while quitting smoking. Today I am tapering off the wellbutrin and I have 60 quit days from the cigs. I also lost 8 lbs in 2 months, however not sure if it was the xl or sr or even the current 75 mg hcl that I'm currently on now.

I have no problem for someone to temporally use Wellbutrin to stop smoking since smoking is so terrible for you health. If you want to stop without any pharmaceutical Rx you might want to consider Rhodhiola rosea bought from a food supplement store. It will affect your serotonin level and dopamine level as well as having a stimulant adaptogen similar to nicotine. I really hope you stop smoking.

As for taking the Wellbutrin to stop smoking, how is lung cancer for a reason? Wellbutrin has been very effective for me to stop smoking and continue to stop smoking. I have had one lobe of my lung removed. I think it is well worth the risks and even the side effects. I am hoping that this subsides. I am reading and finding that a lot of the side effects come and go. This didn't start until I was on the medication for over 6 months.

Wellbutrin seems to be an antidepressant and for helping with smoking cessation, not for helping people ejaculate sooner when having sex. In your shoes I'd talk to the doctor about its undesired effect on the results of the Viagra, and unless you need it as an antidepressant (or to quit smoking), stop taking it. Give it a while to get out of your system, and see if the Viagra works again.

I have depression but no longer like to take drugs to treat it. SSRI's helped me over the years but they outlived their usefullness with side effects and I've developed other statagies for depression. I was taking welbutrin this time more for smoking cestation but I couldn't stop thinking about women in a very sexual way. It was very annoying and I now stopped and feel a lot more in control. I am trying to quit smoking anyway and took it for a while about ten years ago for depression with no bad side effects. I know SSRIs are probably better for anxiety, but I hate the sexual side effects.
