Avatar m tn However, if a person has been recently exposed to the Hepatitis C virus, he or she will need to be tested again. A Reactive or a positive Hepatitis C antibody test result means that Hepatitis C antibodies were found in the blood and a person has been infected with the Hepatitis C virus at some point in time. A reactive antibody test does not necessarily mean a person still has Hepatitis C. Once people have been infected, they will always have antibodies in their blood.
Avatar f tn Been having a bad stomach virus for over a week with Terrible diarrhea my stomach feela like sour milk! Im drinking loads and loads of water to keep hydrated. But im nervous. If it could harm my baby having such a sour stomach? ?
Avatar f tn You're welcome. You're gonna be okay. I know how bad it *****. But baby will be just fine and so will you. If you get to the point where you go six hours without having to pee while you're up during the day then you want to call your ob and ask if they think you need some fluids. If you stick out your tongue and it's dry, you're getting to the danger zone. But most of the time bugs like that are self-limiting and you'll get better before it really gets that bad.
Avatar f tn ( Woke up with a sick little one today and then after lunch started getting any upset stomach headache back ache and having to have frequent regular bowel movements. Avatar f tn It could still be a stomach virus, however, it could be a bacteria or even parasite. I recenlty had a stomach virus that lasted about 7-8 days. Have you ever been tested for or diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)? Your headaches could very well be a sign of dehydration - with all the diarrhea, you can get dehydrated pretty quickly. Be sure and stay well hydrated - water, ginger ale, sports type drinks are all good.
Avatar n tn s not completely understood how it fights the hepatitis C virus, but in general, it interferes with the virus' ability to replicate. For optimal results both must be taken.
Avatar m tn Then you can decide. You also need to have a biopsy to see how much(if any)damage you have to your liver. If you liver in not damaged you might could wait for a better treatment. But remember the older you get the faster the progression tends to speed up so be careful. Trials are going on now for better meds and even tx without the interferon. But it takes years to get them to market.Tes there are people that are clearing the virus within days. Good Luck on your Dr visit tomorrow.
Avatar f tn I am glad I had a chance to treat and was lucky to avoid the sx. I wonder how many of us are as lucky.
Avatar n tn Since learning of my Hep C diagnosis, I have obtained many of my older medical records to satisfy my need to know how and when I got Hep C and, so far, I have learned that my liver function tests were elevated as far back as 1985, and were every year until 2008, but none of my doctors evidently ever felt it was necessary to tell me or to check out why they were elevated. Anyway...so far all things in my medical records are still pointing towards the transfusion as my source.
Avatar m tn I may be wrong here but I'm thinking your viral load is so low, that your doctor is hoping your own immune system will keep the viral count low and may even perhaps eradicate it. It happens. good luck.

The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.

Avatar f tn As far as your health..boosting your immune system is the best way to fight the virus. My doc said to take a multi w/ folic acid, L-Lysine (both maintain and help in cell production), eat veg/fruits, avoid smoking/drinking, exercise, reduce stress as much as possible. getting the vaccine will only protect you against the strains of the virus that you haven't contracted yet (some not all..

Avatar f tn t tried any hairball remedies and will look into that. The food was put back as soon as I got the chicken cooked and cooled. As for keeping him crated, he comes and goes at will, the door is open, but he does spend most of his time in the crate.
