Avatar n tn One more thing, the best thing you could do is keep removing the warts and have a healthy life style, sleep well, eat healthy food, stop smoking & alcohol use if you do, have multi vitamins especially those contain vitamin C & follic acid and do regular excercises... this is best to help your immune get more strength...
1770029 tn?1325802355 Hi and sorry you are ill. There is no such thing as "stomach flu" meaning the influenza virus does not cause flu in the stomach. It is considered gastroenteritis. The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.
Avatar f tn Well, unfortunately, you can be contagious a few days to up to two weeks after a stomach bug. But usually it is 3 days. However, she may have had gastroenteritis, etc. which isn't contagious. I'd say you are in the clear but good hygiene to prevent illness is always a good idea.
Avatar n tn I think you should step up and talk to both of these gals you've been with in the last month or so. Let them know that you've been diagnosed with genital herpes and you have no idea how long you've had it. That way they know that they need to get themselves tested to find out what their own status is. Wouldn't you want someone to do the same for you?
1370830 tn?1280176503 Once all of the blisters are crusted over, the virus can no longer be spread and shingles is no longer contagious.
Avatar n tn Go under the perception that you can be contagious at all times even though most of the time you probably are not.
Avatar m tn m confident your symptoms are not due to any infection from the sexual encounter you are concerned about. There are no STDs, viral or otherwise, that can explain all your symptoms. For sure no STD casues itching of the scrotum, tingling in the groin or legs, the urinary symptoms you report, stomach cramps, acid reflux, or the facial symptoms described.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your answers to my earlier questions about how contagious GHSV-1 is. You helped and your responses were comforting. Yet I have some more questions: (1) It is my understanding that it is hard to shed asymptomatically from my stomach and that is why it is taking longer to heal (will...it's healed...but for the redness to go away). Do you, or anyone else, know how long it normally takes for your stomach to heal completely (as in no signs at all)?
969557 tn?1314370614 I would always be on the safe side and figure yes I am contagious. How long have you been on treatment? And the virus can come back - viral breakthrough. Not trying to scare you, but if you have not had a pcr since week 4, you need to get one.
Avatar f tn how long have you had this?
Avatar m tn I have done a lot of research and know it can take up to 2 years for your body to fight the HPV virus and even if the warts are not present you can still transmit the virus. How long should one wait to have sex with a new sexual partner after treatment? Am I still contagious for those 2 years? Is the virus less contagious after warts have been treated? Can I give genital warts to a man through a blowjob?
Avatar m tn How long before I have herpes outbreak am I contagious to a male partner, through oral and vaginal sex?
Avatar m tn s much more likely you had a regular common virus. However, you have a wife and your outside the marriage activity puts her at risk every time you do it unprotected. So, you should wear condoms with her even if you have to explain it and can get tested. You can test for gonorrhea after a few days and chlamydia after 3 weeks. That's a general time line, check with your doctor/clinic. HIV test was completely unnecessary. You had zero risk for HIV.
Avatar n tn Remember, though, that nobody really knows for sure so there may be a small chance that you are contagious. You are also still able to reinfect yourself with any of the many other strains of HPV both low-risk and high-risk. Are you contagious during the first year or 2-year.? Yes. You are definitely contagious while you are having a wart outbreak. It's difficult to say whether you are contagious between outbreaks and that first year, but I would certainly assume that you are.
Avatar m tn You are correct that you are most contagious with a blister and during prodromal symptoms which are times you should refrain from sex. Many studies are available for asymptomatic shedding on top of that, and it really depends on the individual. The range is anywhere from 5% -20% of the year. You can take antivirals to minimize the risk and of course use protection. The best thing to do is get tested. If you provide more information about your situation we can offer more input.
Avatar f tn There's a good reason why lots of people are confused about how long mono is contagious. That's because the way mono works within the body is tricky. Mono is short for mononucleosis. It is caused by an infection with the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a virus in the herpes family of viruses. Once someone gets mono, the virus stays in that person's body for life. But this doesn't mean that if you've had mono you are always contagious.
Avatar n tn Just a personal queston on here. How old are you?and how long have you had this virus for?
