It has been 6 months and I still have some hunger type pains and nausea after I eat. A bit better but not any worse. No vomiting / high temps / blood in stool. I do have yellow stools which I assume are caused by all the tums and nexium I am taking. I have GI appointment at the end of the month. Is it possible to have a stomach ulcer for 6 months?
If you do vomit up blood, an ulcer is almost always the cause. Is the blood bright red or dark red? As ayri stated, most pain meds like ibuprofen and asprin irritate the lining of the stomach and for most GERD sufferers that is what can initialy set off their symptoms. I noticed you said you puked after sphagetti and tomatoe sauce. Tomatoe sauce is very acid and will cause more acid, which therefor irritates your stomach (and possibly ulcer). I would suggest an endoscopy as well.
My uncle recently had a heart attack and is now fine, but the meds he is on revealed a stomach ulcer (caused his stomach to bleed as they aggrevated his ulcer) that he was completely unaware of, being that he does not drink and previously had no symptoms. I htink it will probably transpire that he has had this bug.

Having hunger like pangs and some dull burn in my stomach right at bottom of my sternum.
Stomach gets noisy at times either while eating or a few hours afterwards. Have gas off and on and flatulence.
Have been taking Omeprazole OTC and seems to help some. Been like this for going on 6 weeks.
No bloody stool or vomiting. I have bowel movement every morning with nothing out of the normal as far as stool changes. Pretty much the same every time in color and consistency.
How much blood? If you are vomiting red blood you could have a bleeding ulcer and that is an emergency. I have had a tiny amount before and it was due to irritation in my throat. You should at least make an appointment with your physician. If you vomit red blood, become dizzy or faint or have black sticky stools you should go to the emergency room.
My son who os 19 yrs old is having stomach pain with vomiting and complains that there is something in his throat for the last 2 wks. He has been to see 2 different Dr. He has been taking something for acid reflex and is on malox and musinex. He is getting no relieve. On 2 different occasions he has been vomiting blood. Any suggestions? He is not eating and is losing weight. Please HELP!!!
Boy, I don't know. Stomach issues are so hard to figure out in little ones. When I was 11, I was sick for three months and lost 30 pounds (which is a tremendous amount for an 11 year old). I had every test run on me and nothing was showing up. I had stomach pains and nausea so I just stopped eating. They were suggesting it was psychological.
If you have been vomiting due to morning sickness you might have ruptured a vessel or started to develop a ulcer due to stress. But if it persists and geta worse through out the night OR you develop abdominal pain and you don't feel comfortable then go to the ER. Always better safe than sorry, especially when your pregnant (even tho I don't think vomiting blood has any direct relation to the baby) but regardless I'd make an app with your PCP if it persists.
Vomiting blood can be serious. Blood can come from not only the stomach but also from the esophagus and the reasons for the presence of that blood can be due to a number of different conditions. Each condition may have to be treated differently. You need to make sure where that blood is coming from - have the scope done.
Did you heave a lot before vomiting? It could have been a little blood mixed in or even something you ate. If it burned coming up could have been stomach acid. Sometimes if blood and acid mix it can turn black. I would maybe bring it up to your doc at your next appointment. It could also just be one of those one time things that have no explanation. I wouldn't worry to much.
During the treatment, I began have mild queasiness and aching in my epigastric area (many areas)
I developed an angry vaginal yeast infection. I treated that, and began probiotics right away. By then my stomach was very painful and churning burning ALL the time.
The foods I was eating regularly started making me feel like vomiting. Like potatoes, then beef, then chicken, cauliflower etc etc It' s as though I was/am still getting allergic to all these foods.
The reason stomach acid does not destroy your stomach is because your stomach is lined with mucus membranes. Stomach acid is not like the advertisements that show the acid in a container and a TUMS is added to the container and the acid is neutralized. Your stomach has acid pumps that spew acid whenever food or liquid is added in your stomach. I do not know how many acid pumps there are in a human's stomach, but enough to attack whatever is added to your stomach for digestion purposes.
t know if this has anything to do with it, maybe a stomach ulcer or something? Thats the only time it hurst though is when i drink alcohol....
He needs complete evaluation and investigations like complete blood count, blood chemistries, blood clotting tests, and liver function tests. Other tests like esophagogastroduodenoscopy may help. Treatment involves treating the cause and symptomatic treatment. I hope it helps.

If the stomach bleeds, as in an ulcer, and the blood is digested by the stomach acids, you would vomit what looks like "coffee grounds."

You need to be examined.
If you start vomiting bright red blood, this would be an emergency.....get to the Emergency Room at the hospital right away.
