I think of two things one is an infection if you had a productive cough or sore throat. THe other is perhaps it is bile from the gallbladder or a stomach ulcer something along those lines might fit since you have a lack of appetite as well and constipation. You may be backed up due to the constipation. I would see a GI doctor and have them give you an exam as well as perhaps some scans.

Ten years ago, I developed a second ulcer, and I have taken one OTC Prilosec a day for 10 years with no problem. Why not try an experiment and take one Prilosec or Prevacid a day for 4 days to learn whether your heartburn has stopped?

His GP is not qualified to handle this situation, only a Gastroenterologist can help him. An ulcer is like a crater and if left untreated it will eat right thru the stomach creating a fatal situation. The ulcer itself needs to be addressed not the symptoms. Your husband should have taken the clinic's advice. This is nothing to fool around with. Take care...
But I also just found out yesterday that I have a stomach ulcer so it hurts when I eat but then being pregnant makes me want to eat every couple hours. m 18 years old living in New Zealand and for the past month or so I have been suffering extremely painful burning sensations in my upper stomach, which was named Gastrisis when i went to the doctor a few days ago! Caused I think by taking too many nurofen due to a toothache! However - nothing seems to relieve me of my pain, even slightly! Tried everything, a diet of low fat milk and bananas, antacids, prescribed pills. Nothing seems to be working!
ve gone to one doctor in particular who made me do a Bari-meal exam to find out if i have ulcer. the results indicated nothing of such, just that i have an inflamed stomach. But i think it is more than that. He gave me zantac and some thing else but those pills just did not help. On follow up visits, if memory serves me right he prescribed the same tablets-still no change in my condition.
