Common Questions and Answers about Stomach ulcer foods to avoid

stomach

Avatar n tn please, how will i treat stomach ulcer?
Avatar f tn s stomach, but enough to attack whatever is added to your stomach for digestion purposes. Substances like dairy foods contain Calcium that turn-on the acid pumps. Nicotine from cigarets activate your stomach acid pumps, etc. If you vomit, some of the stomach acid is within the vomit. If you vomit again, more of the stomach acid is used up. Since your stomach acid pumps will probably be turned on, it is hard to determine how much acid is consumed in the vomit.
Avatar m tn Low vitamin D levels will cause this because without D your stomach can't absorb calcium which will lead to cramping from dehydration
Avatar f tn All these foods have a habit of irritating the stomach. try to avoid them and see if that helps. If not, go to the pharmacy and pick up some nexium and see if that helps.
1103038 tn?1449650320 Does it sound like this? http://heartburn.about.com/cs/articles/a/Gastroparesis.htm Or does it occur after eating certain foods like wheat, rye, barley, malt? And sound like this? http://kidshealth.org/teen/diseases_conditions/digestive/celiac.html If it seems to occur after eating wheat, then it could be a problem with gluten. If you can buy foods with teff instead of wheat (hoping you can get this since it grows in Nigeria or something).

Avatar m tn helps me gain weight, reduces inflammation, and avoids any sort of acid reflux, AND, helps to reduce blood pressure. I do not care for fish, and cannot eat almonds, peanuts, and try to avoid cows milk, spicy foods, onions, garlic, etc. Hard to construct a meal plan with such stringent requirements.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I have read many things on different foods to avoid, such as broccoli, peaches, brussel sprouts, etc. I don't COMPLETELY stray from them, but if I have them it's very rare. I was just curious as to what I should do/eat before I have these tests redone, so there aren't any false results. I do not want to be put on a higher dosage of medication that I don't need. Thanks for any help.

4569680 tn?1359580401 Pylori and I am finding it nearly impossible to find foods to eat that I can keep down and not upset the ulcer I have. I had bread and peanut butter and it came with pain and throwing up. I am nervous about my calorie intake. Does anyone have advice? Also, how long before I can start reintroducing normal foods to my diet? Thanks!
Avatar n tn The exact location of pain and other details will help in determining the accurate cause .Take light meals. Avoid spicy fried foods. If the symptoms are severe consult a gastroenterologist. Best of luck and regards!
Avatar m tn I have GI appointment at the end of the month. Is it possible to have a stomach ulcer for 6 months?
Avatar n tn In general, avoid all fatty foods. Cessation of smoking helps to heal ulcer. Avoid consumption of alcohol. Take the last meal of the day early and let there be a time gap between the last meal and bedtime. If you are overweight, try to reduce weight. Adapt a regular exercise regime, which will improve bowel movements as well as relieve any tensions or stress. Avoid all pain killers like NSAIDs which will aggravate your problem. Regards.
Avatar m tn To be safe until you can get in - avoid fatty/fried foods, and avoid anything that can irritate the liver, such as alcohol, Tylenol (acetaminophen) products, and even any cholesterol medications that you might be taking. But get this checked out ASAP.
Avatar m tn Everyone is exibiting pretty much the same symptoms of heartburn, extreme stomach cramps, sometimes even moving to the back, nausea, vomitting...etc. Doctors are all eliminating this as GERD or acid reflux. Its ridiculous, no one has discovered what the hell is going on here. Either the problem is so simple that all one needs to do is make adjustments to diet or alternatively its so complicated that no doctor knows what is going on.
Avatar f tn Do look at the list of foods to avoid with reflux as the above poster mentioned as these foods can trigger your symptoms to flare..... Only a Dr exam and testing can determine exactly what is going on, so do see a GI Dr for that. In the meantime avoid greasy, acidic, spicy, caffeine, alcohol, smoking.....as all of these can trigger symptoms...I will try to get back to you with a link to our Health page list of foods to avoid....also try to relax as stress is yet another trigger.
Avatar f tn I'm pregnant with my 3rd child I remember most the foods to avoid is there any latest ones that could of been brought out and not known since I was pregnant 6 years ago...
Avatar m tn Does anybody know what foods and beverages to avoid for the liver?anyway let me know.
Avatar f tn My question is do you believe that this is indeed a stomach ulcer? If it is a stomach ulcer then how long would it take for a PPI such as Dexilant to help alleviate the symptoms? Thank you for your time and sorry for the long post.
4569680 tn?1359580401 I have H. Pylori as of right now as well as a history of benign PVCs. I have been eating the blandest of the bland foods. Bananas, boiled chicken, plain brown rice, etc... My loving boyfriend went online to try and find ulcer friendly foods, to make sure I didn't have an attack like the one that put me in the hospital thinking I was in cardiac arrest but instead found the culprit, the ulcer.
Avatar n tn Ulcers are usually caused by the bacteria H-Pylori, but acidic foods can exacerbate the problem or cause acid reflux by themselves. Pineapple juice is extremely acidic - avoid! Stick to apple or mango juice which have much higher pH.
