Avatar m tn I have GI appointment at the end of the month. Is it possible to have a stomach ulcer for 6 months?
Avatar n tn My mother has had a bad back for years, she always has a dull ache, and every so often, the pain is excruciating, often triggered by menial tasks, we are in Spain at the moment and my mother is suffering with the pain, causing her to be depressed as nothing can ease the pain, we visited the hospital yesterday as we thought there must be something serious as the pain is so unbearable.
Avatar m tn Stress can also cause ulcers in your stomach causing these symptoms. Have you been checked for an ulcer? I would recomend seeing your physician and having an exam and full blood work up done. Whether you are generally healthy or not, it is still possible to get sick and stress can weaken your immune system causing you to catch certain illnesses. Please see your doctor.
Avatar m tn When there is no food in my stomach the acid inside starts to attack the ulcer causing pain. But when i eat, the acid digests the food and leaves the ulcer alone. Are these symptoms of an ulcer? PLEASE can someone give me an answer!?! i'm desperate here. I'm not sure if its something serious or just an ulcer! please can someone reply. thank you!
Avatar f tn Could I have an ulcer? I have stomach pain around my belly button and above - pain goes through to my back. Pain severe when I waken in the morning until I get up (strange) Pain is worse when I am lying down. When I eat, the pain goes away for a couple of hours, then comes back.
Avatar f tn I have gastritis - would this be causing upper back pain between shoulder blades after I eat. Antacids don't really seem to help much.
Avatar n tn Sorry your daughter has been in so much pain. I know with my heartburn it just burns from my stomach up to my throat. Could she have a ulcer? I know when I had one my stomach hurt and it felt like cramping. have you taking her to a family dr? I would start there. And maybe when she is having these pains to have her eat some tums or something that is for heartburn just to see if that helps because those meds also help with ulcer pain.
Avatar m tn bloating after eating (sometimes), upset stomach (often, especially after coffee), stomach pain pretty much right between the breastbone and navel, heartburn (frequently but not always), lack of appetite (sometimes), and belching (frequently). Sometimes the pain is relieved by eating, sometimes it's made worse. Over the past 3-4 months I've had two episodes of burping acid back into my mouth but I don't know if that's related or not.
Avatar m tn Based on the information, I think it is duodenal ulcer but it can also be nonulcer pain. Do you have a family history of duodenal ulcer. Duodenal ulcer can also be caused by alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, tobacco, taking NSAID's aspirin, brufen e.t.c. The most common cause is the infection with H.Pylori. Does the pain cause you to wake up in the midnight. About fifty percent of patients with duodenal ulcers awake during the night with pain, usually between midnight and three a.m.
Avatar n tn mild pain in the upper left side of the stomach down to the side. Worse after i take spiced food. What is it?
Avatar n tn The pain does not go off to the right, does not go through to the back. It is a clenching / wrenching pain in the centre just under the rib cage. The pain is intense to the point of causing fainting on occasion. It makes it difficult to breath. When the pain comes, it comes fast and lasts intensely for about 2 hour to 3 hours. It is always high intensity the whole time and does not rise and fall gradually.
Avatar f tn Why do i have pain in my upper left stomach, nausea after i eat, loss of appetite, and everytime i drink water it makes it worse
655875 tn?1295695107 t take otc medications very often and nothing else has changed. Whenever I took the oxy, I would have stomach acid come back up in my mouth about an hour after taking the medicine. I made an urgent apt with the pain doctor and she took me off of the oxy and put me on ms contin. She says I will very likely go through withdrawals. She started me a little bit lower with the ms contin to let my body adjust. I go back in 3 weeks and she will increase if needed.
Avatar f tn s a week later now and I still get abdominal pain (mostly shooting pain) feel nauseous and have a upset stomach. Should I go back to my doctor or is this normal? I have very little appetite and have not gained the weight i lost back again. thanks.
Avatar n tn (in your experience) Is it possible that if I had severe gastritis or even ulcers form, that they are not yet healed and this is why most foods are still causing this violent queasy reaction? How long does it take to heal an ulcer (gastric or duodenal?) Is it possible that I have yeast overgrowth in my stomach?
Avatar f tn under my rib cage is hurting, tender to touch, feels hard and the pain is radiating towards my back.. with sharp intermittent pains in the lower back and flank... severe nausea, but no vomiting... yet... freaking me out! help!
Avatar n tn I see this is a very old post, but I was wondering if you ever found out what was causing the stomach pain? I have had pain just as you described for a year now and doctors don't know what is causing it.
1752640 tn?1352767394 Gastritis is a more likely scenario. It might not be a bad idea to check with your doc and possibly ask for some testing. You may want to consider asking him to check for the presence of H. pylori, the bacteria that is implicated in causing stomach issues and gastritis.
Avatar m tn I have been avoiding spicy and acidic foods, however, I had something spicy today, and within the same area as the abdominal pain, I felt pain, rawness and burning. This pain and burning also occurs in the same spot with gas, which seems to stay in this area. This has been going on for 6 months. Is this caused by gallstones, ulcer or something else?
Avatar m tn I was taking Flomax to help pass the stone which makes me suspect as to maybe causing an ulcer or something but my doctor said it unlikely. Pain meds can cause ulcers, so you need to ask yourself if you've taken many meds in the past the my have screwed up your stomach.
209987 tn?1451935465 The ulcer in the stomach is different than the one in the esophagus, and the cause is probably different as well. Current thinking in the medical community is that stomach ulcers have nothing to do with food but instead are caused by an overgrowth of heliobacter pylori. This organism is always in the body but becomes able to establish a foothold in the digestive system when the immune system is thrown out of balance especially by a die off of beneficial organisms that are supposed to be there.
Avatar m tn Well about 3 1/2 weeks ago my stomach started hurting ( along with the back pain ) Scared that I was having problems with my appendix or gallbladder...I went to the ER. Had an x-ray done of my lower abdomen, which of course revealed nothing...blood work was fine...etc. They sent me home. A week later, here I am...still having the same back/stomach ache. I went to the DR. yesterday and he sent me right back to the ER to have my whole abdomen scanned with an ultrasound...
Avatar n tn I have had stomach pain for about 4 months now. It is especially painful in the morning and slowly feels better by late morning, but the pain does not completely go away. It really hurts when I push on it. I feel full faster than normal with a slight loss of appetite. I went to my dr. and he gave me an abdominal ultrasound and 40mg of Prilosec for 2 weeks. The Prilosec took the edge off but it didn’t make it go away. The ultrasound was fine.
