Common Questions and Answers about Stomach tattoos for women

stomach

Avatar f tn Because of your pregnancy, your body is more susceptible to infection. And the first thing that infection would affect is your blood and your blood obviously reaches your baby. It's a bigger risk, clean material or not. Legit artists will refuse to do tattoos on pregnant women, trust me, I've got 60% of my body covered. I've been to expos, plenty different shops, everything. They ask you to sign consent saying you are NOT pregnant. If you are, they won't take the risk.
Avatar f tn I agree with these ladies, one of my friends is a tattoo artist...he won't tattoos on pregnant women due to the above stated reasons. Any reputable tattoo artist will tell you to wait until after you have delivered.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 weeks almost time for my bundle of joy , but the question is .. I'm breast feeding & is it ok to breast feed & get a tattoo ?
Avatar f tn No. If you still try to go around it, it's not likely to work in your favor. Artist won't take the risk as it is a liability. So they will refuse.
Avatar f tn The risk of infection. Like I said in my precious post....your immune system is suppressed so you are more susceptible to infection which infection fan definitely harm the baby.
Avatar f tn It has occurred to me that it actually isn't common knowledge that pregnant women can't get tattoos. Be nice, people. Some first time moms, especially young ones, really don't know things like this.
Avatar f tn Just wait small or big just wait. Also many places wont risk there shop for a pregnant woman. To many risk for infection and by the way you can't get a tattoo if your nursing. You have to be completely done nursing for a tattoo artist to tattoo you.
Avatar f tn Thank you all. I'm sorry for your losses JRW93! It is pretty hard coping and I can't help but think what I could have done differently. It was meant to be though. I just hate (not hate, but close to it) that with my first pregnancy, it was easy to get pregnant. I'm not going to lie, she wasn't planned. I had barely gotten off birth control to switch to another and Bam!
Avatar f tn Yes you can. I've read plenty of articles on it and if you trust your artist then yes. I thought about getting one myself butttt it's really hard to find someone who will do it while your prego. So personaly I say if you trust the person tattooing you and they know what's in the ink they're using and obviously use New needles than yea go ahead! I've met plenty of women who get tattoos while prego and they didn't have a problem at all during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn m wondering this is that if someone was in bed that she thought was entirely hot and exciting, and he had tattoos, she would probably find tattoos hot and exciting too. The excitement of the guy would sweep the tattoos into the package and she'd find them OK.
Avatar f tn My last post was about piercings in the third trimester. So this question is asking if tattoos are okay to get?? No bashing please because I'm asking questions other people wonder as well and I'm bold enough to ask, so if you're gonna post rude comments please don't say nothing at all.

Avatar f tn And how far along u r could make a difference. I got a peircing while pregnant but i just watched for infection and now its all healed and all is well.
Avatar f tn OK. I am a heavily tattooed mom to be. I know that there are artists that will tattoo you. With how safe the practice is now, infections are highly unlikely. I will not be getting any work done during pregnancy because I don't want to introduce unwanted stress, and because of the hormones and body changes, sometimes the body rejects the ink and pushes it out. My advice is to wait. It's only a few months.
9220968 tn?1413600225 They say it can but honey plenty of women get tattoo during their pregnancy and their baby be fine

Avatar f tn The only reason its dangerous is infection and risk of passing out during.
1931709 tn?1335833095 After the delivery the skin is no longer stretched hence affecting the look of the tattoo adversely. Tattoos are made to stay for life-long hence it is better to wait till you gain your normal shape and weight after pregnancy. Even after reading the above mentioned risks associated to tattoo during pregnancy you wish to get one, it is better you consult your doctor. It is better to check the hygiene of the tattoo parlor and keep the artist informed regarding your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Actually you can, I've googled all about it before and i didnt see any proven facts that it hurts the bby. The change of getting hepatitis and hiv are just as likely as they normally are but you just gotta think, would you rather risk your babies health or would you rather wait. Also, I've read that they most likely wont do epidurals on a women with new tattoos on their backs. Thats about all i know. Oh and your tattoo can get stretched from ur growing belly, ect.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to get a tattoo while you're pregnant? I thought about going for one when I got my taxes back, but wasn't sure if it was safe. I'm not wanting one around my stomach, but on my thigh.
266539 tn?1281402152 I'm not trying to discourage you from doing what you want. I'm just being honest. I've been pregnant, full-term, twice and I have freckles on my stomach that aren't where they used to be. And tattoos are expensive so just wanting you to use caution because I care.
