Stomach pain running

Common Questions and Answers about Stomach pain running

Avatar n tn The last few months I have been experiencing excrutiating pain when running in my stomach, feeling as though I am going to be sick and have bowel movement at the same time. This only happens with running and not my other exercises. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn Recently I have been experiencing excruciating lower abdomen pain when running outdoors. This pain is of similar characteristic to period pain but is definitely unrelated as it may happen one day and not the next and happens at all times throughout my cycle. It is not a 'cramp' as it is not muscular it is a more internal pain. The pain occurs about 2km in the run. I run at a constant pace so can not be linked to exertion.
Avatar f tn i do cheerleading but after i run i get severe stomach pains that last from 5 to 15 minutes. The pain is so bad that i cant sit still. It occurs in my lower stomach. It didnt happen that often before, it only occured from time to time, but now its getting to the point where it happens everyday immediately after i run. At first i thought it was because i didnt eat, or i didnt eat the right things, but i tried everything.
Avatar f tn I am not sure why but when I run long distance, I have severe lower back pain that sometimes wraps around to my stomach. Does anyone else have this problem or know what this could be from? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Lately for the past few months I have started running a lot because I want to run in races. Every time I run I get a pain on my right side right under my rib. This is not normal. I have good form, I am breathing right, I don't eat for hours before my run, I'm hydrated. I'm doing everything right and it continues EVERY time I run. At first I couldnt run for more than 5 minutes when this started. Now I can sometimes get to 2 miles but it still hurts everytime I run.
Avatar f tn Dehydration and fluid/electrolyte imbalance too can cause pain while running. Try drinking plenty of fluids with salts to avoid this. Gas in stomach too can cause pain while running. Hence you must rule out factors like acidity, belching , bloatedness, cramps, food allergy etc. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn As the pressure subsides, I normally burp which will make the pain go away. Although strenous biking can cause it, running and tennis are the worst for me. As you, no acid reducer seems to affect it.
Avatar n tn i am 14 and going to turn fifteen on 30th i had these causes ever since i was 8years old. after i run over a long period or a short period my stomach achs terribly my throte feels like i am on fire. and these causes happen when i stop running i even throw up and i didn't even eat. and when i feel better later on my stomach kills me and i just drop on the ground. i know this is serious and i should of asked a long time ago.
Avatar f tn It literally has made me sick to my stomach. I also know the only real way of knowing is having the surgery and then biopsy. I just cannot be rational at this point because fear has taken over. also not looking forward to three days in the hospital!
929061 tn?1258471551 i also am having pains in my stomach. it feels like it usually does after running for a while or walking a lot is that my muscles stretching?
Avatar f tn When I exercise especially running on the treadmill my stomach starts hurting on the lower left side and sometimes in the middle of my stomach closer to my chest I have this burning tearing sensation which I have had since I had my son I have been to the dr numerous times they said its gastritis but even the medicine they gave me didn't help and my son is 10 months old and it just keeps getting worse its not as frequent but the pain is worse
Avatar n tn If the pain is on the far left side of your stomach running down vertically, it could be hard dry stool trying to pass through your large intestines. If you haven't had a bowel movement in the last 2-3 days, you might want to try a gentle stool softner like Senna or a mild laxative like Miralax. It can take 24-72 hours for them to work so be sure to give it adequate time to work.
Avatar m tn I'm not sure if this fully describes what is wrong with me. The stomach pain includes a dull, achy pain that is constant, but gets worse with stress, caffeine, alcohol or certain foods. I think the pain causes me to eat more because it is almost like a hunger pain. It's so bizarre to feel full and still have the stomach pain I experience because I feel full and hungry at the same time. When I first started having these pains, I weighed 172 lbs and stood at 6'0.
Avatar n tn I have what I believe is unique in that if I try a certain excersie that involves the stomach, the muscles tighten to the point you can actuall see the muscles protruding from the stomach area. The pain is excrutiating and it lasts until the muscles "relax" but then the entire stomach area is sore. While I do a good deal of exercising including running, weights, sports, I cannot do Pilates or any other activity that uses stomach muscles.
Avatar f tn I have had stomach pain for the last few years. In the last year it has gotten worse and in the last six months even worse. It is now to the point that it is effecting my daily life. I have some acid reflux, sharp or consistent dull pain on the right side right under my rib cage, I am nauseated a lot of the time. I have thrown up a few times in the night and I want to throw up a lot. I have a lot of gas pressure in my lower abdominal area and sometimes it hurts too bad to stand up straight.
665587 tn?1265950524 I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this or not, but here goes. My husband is laying in bed with severe stomach pain and refuses to go to ER...he says "it's the stomach flu...eveyone has it" My concern is this...he had this for 1 day in November, another on Christmas day that lasted 30 hours, and again woke him up at about 1 am and been hurting since. Now he says it's getting better. The only other symptoms are nasea, no diarrahea, no fever............
Avatar f tn If anyone has any clue of what could be wrong with my stomach, please let me know. I am running out of patience, money, and ideas of what it could be.
313105 tn?1439583315 A few days latter I started having trouble sleeping with stomach pain pretty much in the same area, when I lay on my stomach. Saw my doctor yesterday, and he did the hernia test and said that was fine, and poked around my abdomen. I had a little pain low on my left side at my waist. My pain when I run is there and on the right side to. He's sent off for approval from my insurance to do a CT scan.

Avatar f tn My problem is that sometimes I would get very severe LOW abdominal pain when running. Sometimes is on the right side, sometimes is on the left side. It does not happen all the time, though. I worm up and increase my speed gradually. I am not sure if I should I see a doctor about that. If anyone has had anything similar, please share. Thank you!
Avatar n tn Hey, I am a 21 year old male and have just recently gotten back into working out and running. Every time I run long distances I eventually start to feel stomach cramps. Today, in the middle of my run, I felt a very sharp pain in my lower right stomach about three inches in from the top of my hipbone and then not long after I started to feel the same pain on my left side. The pain was very intense and it felt like something was about to explode.
Avatar f tn Does anybody else feel like their baby is going to punch through their stomach? I am almost 35 weeks and have felt this way since atleast 30 weeks. I am in pain almost all day. I feel like I am bruised on the inside. When I talked to my doctor she said its normal but I feel like this is too painful to be normal! I can not make it another 5 weeks this way. Thoughts or advice?
Avatar n tn I have recently developed brown spots all over my legs after running over 6 miles. (I am a marathon runner and run anywhere from 6-26.2 miles at one time). They look like bruises in the later healing stages. I call them "leopard spots". There is no muscle pain, nerve pain, itching. The doctors do not believe it is a dermological issue. There will be tons of these brown spots mainly over my quadriceps and calves; nothing on my upper body, back, stomach, etc.
192368 tn?1224207730 I had an MRI (of the spine only) that revealed Degenerative Disk Disease and a very small Hydromyelia. My pain worsened so I went to a pain mgmt. doctor for injections. including a Rhizotomy. Then a diskography, Cat scan, etc. -but its inoperable because of the multi-disk levels involved. Ive seen 3 neuro's about it so far. My other symptoms: I have night sweats, my eyes both have vitreous detachment, tremors, dizziness, vomiting.
Avatar n tn Now I don't have health insurance and I'm starting to feel the pain again. Throbbing pelvic pain, heat/cold flashes and also sick to my stomach. I take birth control regularly and have become so immune to Ibuprofen nothing seems to work. I have a feeling it's getting worse, but no one can tell me what is wrong. Please help?
