Common Questions and Answers about Stomach pain nausea food poisoning

stomach-pain

Avatar f tn Every time the start, I have very severe lower stomach cramping as well as nausea (no vommiting, no fever, no other pain). At this point, again....sorry to be descriptive, I am just pooping blood. This started about 4 episodes ago, and that's all it is...just blood. Not a large amount, but enough to be clearly seen in the bowl. The weird part is, in between these episodes I feel okay. The cramping and nausea are only when it happens. I would go to the doc but I do jot have insurance.

5221747 tn?1365396245 I made steak for dinner two nights ago. Medium rare but only right around the center. but i was fine that night. Then i ate the leftovers yesterday around 4pm. Around 5-6pm i started feeling really weird. Shortness of breath, nausea, and just all around strange. Then around 8 i started throwing up everything in my stomach. I couldn't hold down water. I couldn't even keep down tums to relieve the burning in my throat and chest. After, i started experiencing contractions.
Avatar n tn Go to the doctor I don't know what the symptoms are, but when I hear this started after a chicken sandwich I think about salmonella. In general, salmonella symptoms begin with nausea and vomiting and progress to abdominal pains and diarrhea. Additional signs and symptoms include fever, chills and muscle pains, and can last anywhere from several days to two weeks.
Avatar m tn He had Chinese food earlier in the day with no after effects, but after eating the sweet potato fries for supper he walked the tread mill for 30 minutes and soon became violently ill - vomiting, diahhrea and a fever. He said his stomach felt HEAVY! Could this possibly be food poisoning, or effects of Diverticulosis? The next day he still ran a fever, high blood pressure and pulse. Eventually throughout the day he became better but his stomach was sore. What would cause the soreness? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I have now for more than a month been suffering with a sore throat, swollen glands, constant pain in the top of my stomach, feeling of food getting caught In throat/chest, nausea, back pain and fatigue! Anyone had similar or can advise??
Avatar n tn There are allergy tests for chicken; however, what you described was more like food poisoning. Most common form of food poisoning is from under cooked chicken. If you continue to feel ill, suggest you go to your doctor.
Avatar f tn So after church yesterday we go to a restaurant and have mother's day lunch. We came home I layed down and watched a movie, about 2 hours later my stomach gets a knot in it. I drink some water and immediately throw up. I've had food poisoning before so I already knew that I was in trouble. Now here it is the next day and I don't feel any better besides the puking. I'm concerned about the baby I'm 16 weeks pregnant.
Avatar f tn I think I might of had a slight bit of food poisoning. I posted yesterday saying my stomach hurt after I ate at a Chinese restaurant and went walking. I tried sleeping it off even tho I was in so much pain. I was able to sleep for a hour. Then woke up in pain again. Then just now, I threw up. Not once, but 3 times . I feel better. But I went to go brush my teeth and got the feeling again. I don't feel noxious anymore. Thank gosh!
Avatar f tn Your persisting symptoms of pain, nausea and vomiting could indicate a viral gastroenteritis. The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. In the meantime take oral fluids and OTC acetaminophen for the pain. Regards.
Avatar n tn Wow, what a night! It sounds like food poisoning to me, as my husband had it and re-acted the same way. You need to stay hydrated and get some electrotrolytes, and potassium back in your body. With having severe diarrhea you deplete your system of this and it can make you very tired, nauseous, and weak. Drink lots of orange juice or Gatorade and you should start feeling better. If not, I would get checked out. Best of luck.......
Avatar f tn I've been having awful stomach pain in my upper right stomach for almost 24 hours now. It hurts to take deep breaths and nothing seems to relieve it. I initially thought that it was gas pains, but it just isn't going away. I am belching constantly but have no other symptoms.. I'm wondering what this could be, I know that it isn't normal.

Avatar m tn I was getting stomach aches from time to time. But now it has become more frequent almost everyday I feel nausea or discomfort in my stomach. Basically I feel bloated and full and also nauseous. I feel like the stomach ache usually starts in the afternoon or night. What I feel that could of started this is in high school I eat little. When I finished I started eating more and more often; one of the main reasons was because I wanted to gain weight.
Avatar m tn I have been vomiting and my stomach hurts a lot I feel bloated.
Avatar n tn Although the diarrhoe and vomit are no longer an issue my stomach still feels sore and sick and I have absolutely no urge to eat or drink. Could this be food poisoning and if so have I left it too late to go to my doctor?
Avatar f tn Ok so I'm not sure if I have food poisoning, my uncle cooked tea and we ate about 6pm. It was chicken kiev. It's now 9pm and I have been sick once and now the other end is running! Avatar m tn Hello. I got food poisoning, and threw up 6 times last Friday and went to the hospital to get rehydrated, along with pain and nausea medicine.. I haven't thrown up since, but for the past 4 days, I have been feeling nauseous if I get out of bed. And I'm eating lightly (oatmeal, rice, crackers, steamed vegetables) and when I eat I feel the pain come back. I'm wondering, am I feeling nauseous because of lack of nutrition? Am I past the throwing up phase at this point?
Avatar f tn I have had food poisoning in pregnancy and i was throwing up a lot had headaches belly ache and belly pain
Avatar f tn It could be a stomach virus, they aren't always accompanied by a fever. Or it could be morning sickness again. I got it again as soon I started my 3rd trimester. I got nausea and diarrhea. Although if yours came on suddenly I would bet it's food poisoning or again nd stomach bug in which case it won't hurt the baby but you HAVE to stay hydrated and call your doctor she might be able to get you some nausea meds.

585414 tn?1288941302 I have what appears to be some form of minor food poisoning but its just a matter of a stomach upset. I don't have any fever or cramping or vomiting. And my stool has returned to normal after some minor diarrhea yesterday. I have some minor nausea and due to this I can't physically cope with the idea of eating. Hopefully this should pass or I'll see my physical doctor. He would normally speak to my psychiatrist to confer but he's out of town.
Avatar f tn t know) and I am wondering if the chicken was a bit undercooked and is to blame for my symptoms. I know everyone handles food poisoning differently, but I just feel like I have an upset stomach right now without any other symptoms. Thank you in advance for any replies and please pardon the descriptive question.
Avatar f tn The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Headache may/may not be related to the stomach ache. Common viruses that cause cold flu or stomach flu can cause nausea and headache. There may be other associated signs like runny nose, diarrhea, fever, body aches which may be suggestive of a viral illness.
