Avatar f tn I have noticed that I have a pain in my right lower quadrant. But it seems to come and go. Anyone else have this issue?
Avatar f tn Pain in the back while bending down and resulting pain in the left lower abdomen sounds like a herniated disc in the lower thoracic spine affecting the left spinal nerve that innervates abdominal wall muscles and skin. You would probably feel some numbness or tingling in the skin in affected area. "Slipping" feeling speaks for spondylolisthesis (search online), where a particular disc is so damaged that vertebra below and about it move back and forth...
1040763 tn?1254945697 I am a 26 year old female weight 216, height 5'9 - in general good health. Starting one week ago Friday I had a horrible pain in the top of my stomach right in the middle just below my breasts. The pain continued for three days. Friends and family told me that the pain sounded like that of an ulcer. I took some over the counter meds - (mylanta, pepto, pepcid,) and a couple rx (prilosec & previcid) to no avail.
Avatar n tn If pain is on the side in the left lower quadrant, it is possibly from the colon. Some rare condditions like volvulus (a part of the colon twists around its axis) could be possible. Small intestinal hernia would be also posible - this could be probably possible to detect with the hands as a soft lump in the affected area. I guess, ultrasound could be the first investigation and X-ray with barium swallow or enema after that.
Avatar f tn Currently, as has been the typical presentation felt for the past few years prior to the stellate ganglion injection, the majority of the pain is comprised of an underlying, constant, aching, sharp pain over the entire lower-left quadrant of my back, and muscle spasms cause a stabbing pain in random intervals over the same affected area.

Avatar f tn I have recently stopped taking all pain medication and I feel everything. The lower left quadrant pain, upped left quadrant pain, and the upper right quadrant pain from the removal of my gallbladder. I experienced hot flashes and cold chills last night. This morning I had cold chills so bad that I had three blankets on, a hat, hoodie, and winter jacket on inside my house with the thermostat at 73 degrees. It took me over 4 hours to warm up.
Avatar n tn I saw your comment here and noticed that you share some of the same symptoms that I had when I found out I had a benign tumor in my back. I had right quadrant pain and pain in my back. I thought that the pain was due to appendicitis and went to my doctor. The first time I was told I was overweight and needed to diet; the pain was all in my head. I went back 3 months later because the pain returned and it turned out I had a 4 cm mass pushing up against my inferior vena cava near my right kidney.
Avatar n tn It feels as though someone is inside me, stabbing to get out, in a very localized place in my left lower abdomen. It comes in waves of pain, gradually increasing in severity, hits a peak and then drops to very little pain, that cycle will happen in about 30 seconds and repeat itself over and over. Sometimes the pain is less severe and I can function, other times I'm curled up in bed in too much pain to speak. The waves of pain take my breath away they are so bad.
Avatar f tn I went to the ER several months ago for severe pain in my lower right abdomen, along with uncontrollable diarrhea and vomiting. When in the ER, they did a pelvic exam to rule out PID, and were going to do an ultrasound to rule out appendicitis but decided not to when my bloodwork came back and my white blood cell count was only slightly elevated.

Avatar n tn After I eat I very quickly develop a very intense burning sensation, very similar to heartburn, however it is in my lower left quadrant. Sometimes combined with nausea. I have found that the burning is more significant if I have had a large bowel movement. I have been taking Miralax for the last 2 months in hopes the symptoms would subside. However, they still occur. The burning/pain is not every single time I eat, but at least 4 times a week.

Avatar f tn My husband has intermittent pain in the left lower quadrant of his abdomen. He’s also experiencing increased bowel movements and urination. There is no pain associated with either function. He’s also feeling constipated and sometimes feels that there is more urine in his bladder. He notices it a little more when he eats. Any thoughts?

Avatar n tn Besides the liver, the pancreas stretches from the right upper to left upper quadrant and the pain is usually felt deep as your describing. Ask your Dr. to check for pancreatitis. Stomach issues also cause URQ pain such as Gastritis, Peptic Ulcers, and Gastroenteritis. Ask for an H-Pilory breath test to rule that out. Are there any other symptoms other than pain? Do you experience nausea ? Does it get worse with eating? A little more description will help rule out things.
Avatar f tn I have hypothyroidism. My tsh was 11+ and my doctor put me on 25mcg of levothyroxine. I've been on it for exactly 1 month and now i've developed abdominal pain that started out in the right lower quadrant and is now in the left lower quadrant x 3-4 days now. I'm very bloated. I'm still having bm's but they are small and hard and dark - but not black. I also haven't had a period in 3 months. I'm not pregnant.
Avatar m tn Could be anything, including IBS, My own experience has been to have pain in the upper left quadrant versus the lower left quadrant on occasion.
Avatar f tn I have a very active lifestyle, however for the past few months every time I eat I feel like it just stops at my stomach. I feel bouts of nausea and have pain in my upper left quadrant of my abdomen and in my lower left quadrant of my abdomen. I do not have my gallbladder and I have had a complete hysterectomy. I have regular bowel movements two or three times a day. My question - what could it be? My colon cancer was stage I and received no chemo or radiation.
Avatar f tn What could be the cause of a lump in the lower left pelvis area? I also have pain in this area, this lump seems to feel like it moves around a little bit. It is not an ovarian cyst as I had an ultrasound done and left ovary appears normal. I was diagnosed with endometriosis last year (2007) and gyn said that it might be GI related. Have appt in July for colonoscopy to look at my colon. Could it be a swollen lymph node/gland?
Avatar n tn Pain in the lower left quadrant is generally suspected to be either a cyst on the ovary or diverticulosis. If they haven't checked you for diverticulosis you might ask them to do so. Have you had a signoidoscopy lately? I believe you'll need to have that and a lower GI to make a definitive diagnosis. It sounds like you've already been checked for pelvic inflamatory disease and the possibility of an ovarian cyst, so you might go with the diverticulosis testing to be sure.
Avatar m tn Always after defecation, I feel like something is stuck in my rectum. Five months ago I went to the ER with acute right lower quadrant pain near the appendix with the pain reflecting right in my back. Normal bloodwork, plain abdominal x-ray showed excessive intestinal gas. Pain continued for several days and then nausea came also. I couldn't eat anything because everything made me have symptoms.
