Avatar m tn First of all, Congratulations : ) As for your rash, there are so many ingredients in a cigarette, 599 approved additives, that it is very possible that your body is reacting to the "loss" of a certain chemical or additive. If it continues you might want to see a doctor. Good luck and if you need support, we are here.
Avatar n tn I had thanksgiving dinner and not long after eating I started getting bad stomach pains. I have gas or had gas and got sick 6 times. Stomach pain isn't cramping and there is no spotting but the pain won't subside. I always have some sort of stomach ache and nausea all the time but this pain is different. This isits 1st pregnancy and I'm just not sure what to do. Tried calling my boyfriend but he's sleeping and has his phone off.
1469794 tn?1286630557 I am withdrawing from Opiates and Cigarettes. Which would be giving me pain in gut, like hunger pain feeling even though I am eating?. Also, my sense of smell and taste is peaked and nothing tastes good? I thought when you quit smoking it HELPS your taste buds or does it take time?
Avatar f tn Hello In past i am very heavy smoker now i quitting smoking. After quitting i feel pain on my left side on chest. Any one tell me what is this.
Avatar f tn My trigger, mainly is anger, I thought, until I relapsed AGAIN after April and finally realized my other trigger is my chronic pain. Smoking was helping me cope with it. Smoking also Increases my pain so 38days ago, I was done with smoking for good and I feel very secure in saying that. I don't miss it a bit! I think of it this way. My pain will never go away and anger and stress will always be a part of my life...I have no control over those as they are human emotions...
2120637 tn?1335999377 The crazy part about all this is that I never considered all these symptoms to be part of quitting smoking. I thought the stomach flu was somehow lingering and spreading around my body in other ways and kept blaming all the symptoms I was having on the stomach virus and started getting the bad anxiety because I kept thinking it was still the stomach virus but knowing that stomach viruses don't last that long but thinking I must have caught a new strain with changing symptoms lol.
Avatar m tn ve quit for long periods of time before. I have put on about 15 lbs (not related to smoking, more from over eating due to stress). I have for the last week had a throbbing pain in my solar plexus (right in the centre of the chest on the little bone at the bottom), a feeling of a tight chest, but my airflow is fine. I am asthmatic but it is well under control. I am coughing up mucus and am fairly stuffed up, all signs that my body is cleaing out the crap in my system.
Avatar n tn I'm sure your doctor told you that quitting smoking will help with your stomach in the long run, and that's why you're posting this right? The emotional ups and downs of quitting should have your stomach more in a knot than what it is now. Now that you don't smoke so many more doors have opened up for you, but that alone doesn't "cure" UC... A good diet, lots of exercise, and mental/emotional stability are key with keeping UC under control. Hold in there.
Avatar f tn You didn't really say what quitting smoking did to your anxiety level or what other maladies you might have now or in the past (such as diabetes, gall stones, etc...) that could put two and two together. Just a WAG here, but perhaps quitting smoking made you anxious and created a cause and affect situation. Smoking does play a role in how your body functions and its affect on blood vessels, even psychological addiction.
Avatar f tn So I've had acid reflux since I was about 8. I've had ulcers in my stomach and esophagus since I was 15. I've gone on bland diets for months at a time and took prilosex and zantac, nothing helped. Then I started smoking Marijuana and it's like I don't even have stomach issues. I'd get the occasional heartburn after certain foods but not horrible. I've been smoking for two years.
394931 tn?1208115595 I believe that there will always be a day you want it, a secound you miss it, but at the end of the day you will die from smoking and thats not fair for our children, our family, its selfish and we are above it... Just be strong, we can all do it... IAnd when im really needing a horrible stinking cig, i go to the balcouny and take a big deep breathe of air, it will make you feel lucky to be alive..
903476 tn?1242237037 I almost immediately started gaining weight even tho I cut 200 calories a day from my diet and replaced my need for smoking with tooth brushing. I also added another 6 blocks to my daily dog walking. But sadly I still put on nearly 100lbs and my weight now is given my a new whole bunch of health problems. I now have sleep apnea, hair loss, fingernail loss, acne, acid reflux, strange painful and blistering rash`s all over my arms, legs, hands and feet.

Avatar f tn t smoke — in addition to contributing to a host of serious health problems, smoking boosts stomach acidity. (Ideally, smoking is a habit you should break before getting pregnant. If you're still smoking and are having trouble quitting, ask your caregiver for a referral to a smoking-cessation program.
Avatar m tn All I have requested from my smoking spouse and smoking friends, is to clean their ashtrays when they are done smoking. This is working put very well. Good results - Sleeping so much better. Still using the CPAP for the sleep apnea. Feeling is returning to my hands and feet. Interestingly I am eating less after stopping and have dropped 4 pounds over the past week. I can now smell things again. Somehow, nocturnal erections have returned. Better circulation? My complexion has improved.
Avatar f tn I've been a smoker, weed and cigarettes, for 10 years. I smoked all day everyday, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant I quit cold turkey, and that is the best way to stop. It's not difficult, being a mother you have to do what's best for your baby. Just thinking about your baby should be enough to stop you from smoking. I don't even want to smoke knowing it could hurt my baby.
Avatar m tn That's normal to feel those things after quitting smoking. You can always seek an advice from health professionals on how to overcome it. It's not easy for sure to put an end to your smoking habit, but just keep the will, have some patience and discipline and you will surely get rid of it. Anyway, there are other smoking alternatives that you can always which is safer and healthier like a laser acupuncture, or switching to e-cigarette.
Avatar m tn Your theory is my theory - just the act of continuing to inhale something made me crave cigarettes like crazy which is why I quit the weed back in January with the hopes it would make quitting smoking much easier. It did! I quit c/t on Apr28th and haven't taken a single puff. I wish I could say I haven't smoked any weed at all in 7mos, but I can't. Have smoked a couple times after I hit the 6mo mark and as predicted, felt cravings for cigs that weren't there before.
Avatar f tn that wasnt right in my opinon but coming from someone who does smoke ive talked to my doctor about my smoking and he told me yes of course its not good for your baby but you can put your baby in danger if you do quit.. but if you can quit thats great! I currently still do smoke maybe two a day because i dont want to stress my baby out with withdrawls..
Avatar f tn I smoked wiTh all my kids so far and they were all healthy weight and no issues from smoking. Every Dr that hears it is baffled, they can't explain it.
Avatar f tn I quit smoking June 2012 after smoking for many years. Congrats on your decision to quit. I wouldn't necessarily call smoking a "crutch" since you were doing it while using. I would face it independently from your opioid use. Having said that...maybe waiting a tad bit longer to where you have some more clean time under your belt so its easier to handle. Just an idea...I waited until I had been clean for 2 years 4 months before I quit smoking. You dont want to overwhelm yourself....
Avatar f tn Hello. I've quit smoking for 3 weeks now after 32 years of smoking. I am using the patch and my doctor put me on zyban when I saw her sept 5 because I couldn't stop crying. The crying has gotten better I feel terrible. I think I'm obsessed with my breathing to the point where I feel it all the time. My chest feels tight. I feel myself inhaling all the time. I've been to the emergency room twice now in two weeks. Chest films taken. They put me on high does prednisone for.
