stomach pain blood in stool

I've been having blood in my stool for two days with severe stomach pain. I don't have pain around my anus so I don't think it's hemmroids. What could be going on? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/236652'>Blood in stool and cramps</a>.

If you have blood in your stool it will usually be very black or you could actually pass red blood...If you are having any stomach pain that you cant explain then you should probably let your dr. check you. One thing to remember if you have been taking pepto bismol or any antacid then it usually will turn your stools black....Something in the medicine causes it to turn colors...If that is the case then stop taking them for a week and see if your stools clear up....But i would still call the DR..

If you have loose stools with blood and mucus in stools with crampy pain in stomach, it could be due to infection (bacterial/amebic) and you need to have stool microscopy done for confirmation it. The other possibility is of inflammatory bowel disease. Other causes of blood in stools are aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, polyps (small growths) and malignant growths of tissue. Diagnosis is by ultrasound abdomen. In some cases sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy may be needed.

i have regular motions and have no irregularity in it. The problem i have is i get some lumps of blood in my stool.usually its black in colour . this blood comes almost on my every nature's call. stool is normal as it should be(not hard,not black) .i started facing this problem since i started jogging .i have reduced around my 10 kgs by jogging. i have no problems because of this blood(means no pain,no constipation,stomach ache nothing ).i feel fit from inside .

Last night I had quite a bit of blood come out when I went to the bathroom, then this morning the right side of my stomach started to hurt really bad and it has hurt all day and now tonight along with the abdominal pain I now have dark red blood clots in my stool. I have been diagnosed with Diverticulosis but I have not been able to get a colonoscopy. Hi, with blood in the stool, its unlikely that your symptoms are due to IBS. As you have constipation, your symptoms could be due to haemorrhoids. Piles or haemorrhoids is nothing but venous plexus (network of veins) in the anal canal, which, due to hereditary predisposition and constipation are enlarged and are dragged down, towards the anus. The first step towards therapy would be to combat constipation, which is done by drinking plenty of water, like doubling your usual intake.

Mine were elevated which causes more acid in the stomach. As my parathyroid hormone came down, I felt SO much better. I stopped the PPI's and just take carafate when I go to sleep. I do still have GERD/Acid Reflux but under control. Check your calcium serum also. Correct to check your pancreas and goldbladder. Blood test: Lipase & Amylase for pancreas. Check your stool color. Ask your doctor if you can have your stool analyzed.

However, today, noticed that I had what appeared to be blood in toilet and and upon wiping, bright red paper. Earlier in day, noticed slight pain on my left side below rib cage and later noticed I was gasey and burping a lot. My history, had H.Py.ori received treatment for one week and finished anti biotics on the 13th of June, felt ok for a couple of weeks and noticed belching came back and was told about possibility of candida overgrowth of which I had symptoms.

Do you remember if the blood was IN or ON the stool? Do you have any pain around the rectum? Do you have a history of hemorrhoids? If the blood is on the stool instead of actually in it, it may be bleeding from a hemorrhoid or bleeding from right inside or outside the rectum. Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Blood in your stool is not a symptom of IBS. I am almost 100% sure that you do not have cancer mainly becuase of your age. However it would be a good idea to see a gastroenterologist and undergo some testing to determine what is going on.

Without history it is impossible to say. One common cause of pain in the lower abdomen would be constipation. When you say "lower stomach," the stomach is actually a particular organ. Are you having any other symptoms? Is the pain relieved with lying down? Have you tried a gas reliever like Gas-Ex or Phazyme (simethicone)? Have you had normal bowel movements? Is there blood in your stool? Is it an odd color? Do you have diarrhea? Are you vomiting?
