Avatar f tn Anterior to the sternum in the subcutaneous tissue there are 3 hypoechoic nodules ranging from 1.3 to 1.5cm. These nodules are nonspecific. They could represent fibrous tissue. Its crazy I think my body may produce nodules, I had them on my thyroid and got bigger so I had surgery 2 diff. time on my thyroid. Is this something I should be concern of since there is discomfort there.

500943 tn?1210113003 I have lung nodules to and had pneumonia over a year ago and now i have respiratory problems that has put me on oxygen, but my pulmonologist has just tested me for rheumatoid arthritis because it affects the lungs to and my vocal chords are not working right either and could be the arthritis so you might want to get it checked. 679604 tn?1226449365 I went to the ER for pain in my lower stomach, and they did a CAT scan and found that I had two nodules on my lungs. I can't remember if they said the size was 3cm or 3mm but either way they told me to follow up with my regular doctor. So I went the next day and she sent me to have another CAT scan. When the results came back she told me that they were two positive nodules but she wanted me to wait for 6 months to have them re-checked. But why wait.
667562 tn?1228262025 I am not sure what is meant by nodules in the esophagus - the GI specialist will likely need to put a camera into the esophagus/stomach to see what is going on (aka endoscopy). Sometimes nodules in the thyroid can push on the esophagus and cause swallowing problems -- perhaps this is what is happening. Depending on the size/appearance of the nodules, FNA biopsy may be necessary -- about 5-10% of thyroid nodules are cancer.
Avatar f tn I have 2 nodules in lower lobes. One 5mm one 4mm. I am concerned about mets though I have no symptoms of a primary tumour elsewhere. I am 42. I read that mets are usually in the lower lobes. I have a relear scan in 2months and Im terrified they will have grown. Is it likely to be mets with no cancer symptoms and at my age? The ct was done for rib bain and the nodules found coincidentally.I have no weight loss or fatigue. I had a ct colonoscopy 18 months ago which was fine.
Avatar m tn I was first diagnosed with hyperthyroidism back in May 2004. I had a couple small nodules on one lobe of my thyroid. I was started on PTU (can't spell the full name LOL!) and responded very well to it. After a few months, the nodules had disappeared and my thyroid levels stabilized. In July of 2008 I was started on Amiodarone for my atrial fibrillation. Amiodarone has an iodine content to it and seems to have caused my thyroid levels to go up again.
Avatar f tn Had a low-dose CAT scan 18 months ago that showed a 3mm non-calcified nodule in the left upper lung, as well as several calcified and partially calcified nodules in the lower lung. Was a 2-pack/day smoker for about 15 years, but quit 30-years ago. Doctor just rechecked my lungs with a regular CAT scan with and without contrast. Nodule has grown to 5mm. The report from the radiologist noted that he did not have access to the original scan for a comparison but said everything looked normal.
Avatar f tn Hello.. the thyroid gland demostrates multiple low density nodules and areas of course calcification. The left node is enlarged but does not extend to the retrosternal position. Am in remission for NHL. Oncologist doesn't seem concerned, should I be??
Avatar n tn 2 months ago i started having difficulty swallowing solid food, went to dr, tsh is .01, t3 and 4 are high normal. had ultrasound, have 3 nodules, each are 4 centimeters. i have lost 40 lbs in 2 mos. only have left thyroid, right was removed in 93. would these 3 nodules cause the swallowing problems. had ged which showed nothing inside esophagus or stomach. i literally feel like i'm going to die, weak, anxiety attacks, dry skin, tremor.
Avatar f tn Larger nodules - over 4 centimeters, are more likely to be cancerous than nodules less than 4 centimeters Men's nodules are more likely to be cancerous than women's nodules A solitary nodule is more likely to be cancerous than nodules found in a "multinodular" thyroid Nodules in a person younger than 20 or older than 70 History of external neck irradiation during childhood "Cold" characterization on ultrasound - meaning that the nodule does not absorb iodine or
Avatar f tn Yesterday I was in horrendous pain with violently upset stomach. I went to urgent care and they were worried that it might have been my appendix so gave me a C.T. scan. They asked if I was allergic to iodine, my answer was no but I do have several cystic nodules on my thyroid that are slowly growing (Endo. now treating me with synthroid, even though my TSH levels are normal to see if it shrinks the nodules).
1837563 tn?1339903800 I was so sick to my stomach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She wouldnt tell me anything. So I called my doctors office and asked them what did my mammo say. She said they found two nodules, one in each breast, with Malignancy RULED OUT. I was crying and in a panic on the phone. Its like I was re-living my moms nightmare all over again! She told me not to worry. That MANY patients get call backs all the time.
Avatar f tn You may not have all these steps, the incidence of cancer from nodules is 5 - 15%. My nodules were not cancerous, but my thyroid tissue was. There are so many unknown factors, this is not an exact science. Nodules and thyroid cancer are hard to diagnose, and unless they get cancer cells from the nodule (it is very difficult, needle into a 1 mm cancer is a long shot) they sometimes cannot give you a good answer unless they remove at least one lobe of your thyroid.
983959 tn?1248749173 ve read some sites that most people who are found with nodules in the colon or stomach are normally due to an allergy (could be wrong). That's my guess. You're probably going back in for another colonoscopy some time in the future to check on the nodules if they're growing. I wonder if your doctor did a biopsy as well..anyway I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it but I do think you've got some sort of reaction to food going on. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed about three years ago with Hypothyroidism with three small nodules on my right side and one large one on my left. I suffered considerably with tiredness, fatigue, muscle and joint pain. I take 0.5 mg synthroid daily and don't seem to have any problem with that anymore. My levels have never changed. I am going to be 41 years old. The nodules are 95% not cancerous. The ones on my right side have grown 2 mm each in the last year and now measure 4mm.
Avatar f tn Many of us have nodules on our thyroid and they cause no harm. Nodules are common with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis - do you know if your doctor tested you for that? Once you get started on thyroid medication, some of your discomfort should go away. Without knowing what labs were done, and the test results, it's hard for us to comment fully. When you get the results, please post them here, along with the reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.
Avatar m tn He said I looked good on paper and made no changes. Also, six months ago new nodules were found in my thyroid gland during an ultrasound -- could this be causing the change in my TSH levels? I was told we would watch this over the next year.
Avatar f tn His cancer has been passive. He recently went for a stomach and chest CT scan. The scans revealed a nodule on his lung and a nodule on one of his thyroids. I need to know whether these nodules are in direct link with the cancer and what they are, will they go away in time, are they harmful? Is this something CLL patients normally encounter?
Avatar f tn hi just wondering if anyone out there has severe pain in back, hips, and stomach, mostly on left side with endometriosis been having these symptoms for 6 months now and my gp said it sounds like endometriosis but strong painkillers dont work has anyone any suggestions please
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's a year ago this month. I also have numerous thyroid nodules. I've had four FNA over the last 4/5 years for the nodules and all have come back fine, no cancer TG! I returned to my endo in Nov for my six month checkup and had another scan which revealed two new nodules, the largest 2.5cm, it is located directly behind the 2.6cm one which was aspirated previously.
Avatar m tn The thyroid isthmus measures 3mm in thickness. There are multiple nodules detected in both thyroid lobes. On the right, the largest nodules is located midaspect and measures 9 mm in diameter. It is heterogeneously hypoechoic. In the right thyroid lobe/isthmus, there is a 2.3 cm diameter diameter heteregeneous complex nodule that is compatible with the palpable abnormality experienced by the patient. In the superior left thyroid lobe, there is a 2.3 cm diameter complex appearing nodule.

1144849 tn?1395455166 s an autoimmune disease causing the nodules is going to add to your thyroid profile. Toxic nodules kind of trump anything else in their path. However, once you have one autoimmune disease, you are more likely than the general population to develop another, so that might make it worthwhile to know.
673012 tn?1225915011 I have a general question for people who've had surgery on their thyroid and people who have or had nodules. I've was recently told by a second endocrinologist that I should get my thyroid removed and the three noncancerous nodules (affectionately named Tom, ****, and Harry) that sit on both sides and the top. First, I told them they'd have to chase me with the knife. But they I thought about what they said, "If the nodules bother you, then they should be removed.
