My 2 yr old son has just vomitted for the 3rd time since I've been home (12am) and 1 more time before that. He pukes and doesn't have a problem passing right back out. For example his last time he roled over and puked, cried a tiny bit and then he passed right back out. 3 days ago I contracted, what I thougt, was food poisening, but all last week my wife's mother was really sick with something... seems to be a coincidence!
Yes, these are all symptoms of type I diabetes in children. My child was wetting the bed, extremely thirsty all the time and was vomiting; his vomiting, we think, was contributed to a stomach virus he had at the time. We took him to the ER due to dehydration -they did a blood chemistry and his blood sugar was 399-they immediately admitted him to ICU and he was put on IV insulin. He's been a diabetic now for 3 years-he's now 9. He's has handled it amazingly well!

There is stomach flu going round and many children have it ..Certainly if she is till sick and vomiting in the next 24 hours with a fever its always a good thing to have her checked out, meantime give her plenty of water and pedalite so she wont get dehydrated..ease up on the eating give her bland foods that wont make the issue worse .
So I've had the stomach flu since Sunday night & its now Thursday morning. I'm starting to get really freaked out that its lasting this long. My symptoms are the usual symptoms, diarrhea, headache, a fever, chills, etc.. I haven't thrown up at all this whole time thankfully. And I thought I was getting better because all the symptoms have went away, except I'm still getting diarrhea. Its just once a day, its not chronic like im running to the bathroom.
He told me I most likely have a sinus infection? Why do I have burning in my stomach and constant nausia? The fever seems to slowly disappearing and the bodyaches as well, but this conitinuous sickness feeling is the hardest part. I can 't stand to eat ANTHING.. I do not understand how this could be a sinus infetion and I took my first dose of antibiotics today(azithromicin) but I am curious will this help?
I normally wouldnt be nervous bc it was low risk but i developed symptoms. 5 days post exposure i had flu like symptoms with fever, night sweats, sore throat, achey muscles, ect... I went to doctor and he said it was probaly the flu. However I received a flu shot 4 months ago!!! So what could it be??After the medicene I was better after 4 days or so. Since then I have terrible diahreaa and upset stomach. Please advise.
gets around. Two days after I started having flu-like symptoms, achiness, intermittent headache, painful swollen glands in my throat and groin, itchiness. I thought maybe I had gotten herpes but then a couple days later I had a single incident of diarrhea that was followed by 3 days of constipation. Since then (about 3 weeks now) I have gone back and forth between constipation and diarrhea.
I developed stomach flu like symtoms about 48 hours later, loss of appetite, diarrhea, dehydration, very tired. lost 15 lbs in water weight. But my wife had the stomach flu same symptoms the previous week.
Also having some slight discomfort in my urethra. Going to the Dr in the next few days to see if I may have aquired a bladder, UTI infection from the dehydration, and to check for any STD's from the encounter, no discharge or pain when urinating.
I thought that i was getting better after a couple of days, but soon was awakened with a stomach flu in the middle of the night, I'm not throwing up anymore, but still have diarrhea and a very consistent pain in my abdomen, which I'm pretty sure is gas. Pregnant women are considered one of the three most vulnerable populations for getting the flu (children, the elderly, and pregnant women). I think 14 children have died from the flu so far this year. I sure wouldn't want to have the flu when pregnant, why add a reason to feel miserable and achey?

Well, I'm in California, and both my children have the 24 hour flu, one two days ago, vomiting and diarrhea, and the younger one today, but he just has diarrhea.
Sometimes stomach flu goes around, in The Spring. I am on Victrelis (15th shot today, and havent had a loose bowel movement, since I began, pretty much the opposite.
When I have had diarrhea in the past (which I HATE) I put myself on the BRAT diet, which is Bananas, (white)Rice, applesauce, and (dry white) Toast.
