Someone I know had a few unprotected encounters with a guy, and a week or so later developed "Vomiting, Fever, Muscle Aches". Now there are a few bad sicknesses going around in my city with the same kind of symptoms, and the water in my city has been under a "must boil" rule lately and shes pretty sure she had some of the water. She was only really sick for a day. Does this just sound like a stomach flu, bad water, or does this sound like ARS ?
I'm not sure what you need help with--help relieving your symptoms, or a diagnosis as to what's causing your problems. If this pain continues and/or worsens, I'd see a doctor as soon as you possibly can, just in case. My guess would be the flu, like you suggested. I know there is something doctors can give you for the flu after you already contracted the virus. It's supposed to shorten the duration of it, and that's a GREAT thing!
With the flu,...in my experience,....you just gotta "ride it out".....don't try to do anything but lay around in your snuggly pajamas and rest....take some aspirin for your fever, try to keep hydrated with water and juices or 7-up (not sprite).....and when you feel up to eating something,....THE BEST thing is chicken noodle soup,...or cream of chicken soup.....there's something magical in that broth. at your local drug store or Walgreens, they are Zinc, which really help ease symptoms of the Common Cold, and the duration of the cold is cut shorter. They are not for a prevention, you don't want to take zinc everyday, but as soon as you feel a cold coming on, then take them, they have different flavors, they may leave an aftertaste in your mouth, but they are worth the aftertaste, you could always use a candy or something to rid the aftertaste later.
I developed stomach flu like symtoms about 48 hours later, loss of appetite, diarrhea, dehydration, very tired. lost 15 lbs in water weight. But my wife had the stomach flu same symptoms the previous week.
Also having some slight discomfort in my urethra. Going to the Dr in the next few days to see if I may have aquired a bladder, UTI infection from the dehydration, and to check for any STD's from the encounter, no discharge or pain when urinating.
Was able to work and just felt like I had flu. I did develop about 2 1/2 days into the illnes many ulcers on my tongue and mouth, quite painful, which does scare me since many websites list them as primary ARS symptoms, even go so far as to advise physicians their presence can point away from other viral infections and more towards HIV. There was never any rash.

I was wondering about this too. My sister caught some sort of bug a few days ago and was throwing up. Ever since then I've been feeling nauseous but haven't thrown up or anything. By this point I'm assuming it was anxiety all along and I wasn't catching anything because she is all better and I haven't got any worse. The anxiety and nauseous feeling still lingers some though.
So I've had the stomach flu since Sunday night & its now Thursday morning. I'm starting to get really freaked out that its lasting this long. My symptoms are the usual symptoms, diarrhea, headache, a fever, chills, etc.. I haven't thrown up at all this whole time thankfully. And I thought I was getting better because all the symptoms have went away, except I'm still getting diarrhea. Its just once a day, its not chronic like im running to the bathroom.
i just got disgnosed also, about 4 days ago. i have had FLU symptoms and have not been able to leave bed or the shower.. and its been 10 days for me. are your flu symptoms starting to subside at all? i hate to say this but try pot. i dont normailly smoke but it really works w the nausea and energy. oh and dont go back to work without making sure you are not contagious.!
He told me I most likely have a sinus infection? Why do I have burning in my stomach and constant nausia? The fever seems to slowly disappearing and the bodyaches as well, but this conitinuous sickness feeling is the hardest part. I can 't stand to eat ANTHING.. I do not understand how this could be a sinus infetion and I took my first dose of antibiotics today(azithromicin) but I am curious will this help?

Tamiflu isn't a vaccine, nor a substitute for a vaccine. Tamiflu CAN be taken if you're exposed, or very soon after symptoms start.

Hi and sorry your son has migraines. I don't believe and haven't read any articles that say any association with migraine and flu shots. You can get migraines as a child or adult. The "sticking him the leg comment" sounds like a nerve issue. I would recommend a neurologist if you haven't been to one. They can do an EEG for the migrain and to rule out seizures and absense seizures. etc. and check out the "sticking or poking" feeling he has.

Generally, the majority of people infected experience NO or very mild symptoms that may go overlooked.
If ARS is experienced, it will happen 2-4 weeks after infection, last 1-2 weeks and subside suddenly. Regarding your listed symptoms, some or all may be present in varying degrees( this is why we don't attempt to diagnose HIV through symptoms).
