stomach flu lasting 5 days

So I've had the stomach flu since Sunday night & its now Thursday morning. I'm starting to get really freaked out that its lasting this long. My symptoms are the usual symptoms, diarrhea, headache, a fever, chills, etc.. I haven't thrown up at all this whole time thankfully. And I thought I was getting better because all the symptoms have went away, except I'm still getting diarrhea. Its just once a day, its not chronic like im running to the bathroom.

Last Friday (10/24) I felt lousy all day. Nauseous/ bloated. Late in the afternoon I got extremely clammy and got up because I thought I was going to vomit. I made it into the bathroom and started to pass out, turning very pale and feeling numb all over as well as my vision becoming dimmed. I laid down to sleep and felt better. I then had water/loose diarrhea from Fri (10/24) a couple times a day until Mon (10/27). Today is Weds (10/29) and I just had sludge diarrhea.

The stomach flu hasnt been bad here at all. And I know when I get sick cause once I am sick I get sick bad lol I just hope its nothing serious. Thanks for the advice though :) going to call my doctor in the morning!!

only time id be worried is if puking goes on for more then 48/72 hrs or if you have a fever lasting more then 4 /5 hrs. You are able to take 2 Tylenol at a time only twice a day. Hope you feel better soon!

I agree with you on all points. Thats why i was asking YOU if flu symptoms lasting over 5 weeks seemed a little alarming along with my situation.

not sure if the tip where the sperm is held could have broken or any other condom breakage (first time, so not that experienced) got tested on the 6th week and tested negative. little more than 7 weeks, i seemed to have caught a flu thats lasting more than a week now although the worst (soar throat) seemed to have been over in 5 days (2 months have past since encounter).

If you're vomiting days in a row, you probably have some sort of stomach virus or flu. If it doesn't stop, go to your doctor.

Yesterday and today I've been feeling sick . Like ideal nauseous and dizzy and getting head aches . I told my doctor but he was more focused on how low my babies head was . So since yesterday I've been gettin irregular contraction lasting between 30-60 and they're all over the place . Today I'm feeling really off . I'm nauseous and my stomach hurts and just feel sick ! Anyone have an input on what could be going on ? I'm 39 weeks 4 days .

If it's gone on for longer than a few days, I'd call the doc's office. This isn't exactly flu season, so maybe you picked up something else, like a parasite, since it sounds like it's already too long lasting to be food poisoning. Take care!

I think I caught the stomach flu from my nephew and my moms helper. I am about to be 36 weeks, so is there anything I can do for it, or do I just have to wait it out? I haven't really ate today and drinking is just as bad. I have gone to the bathroom numerous times today and have been continuously nauseous for about 5 hours.

You could get canker sores during a virus or if it was a combination of a regular flu or cold with stomach flu, which can happen, you could get most of these symptoms. How high is your fever at 7p.m. is it low grade such as around 99.0 F? Your body termperature normally goes up in the evening and you may still be fighting something. The weight loss is unusual. How much weight have you lost? It could be due to water weight loss due to the diarrhea.

I had the flu recently and it lasted about 5 days. My fever only reached 102. 105 is very serious and you should be in the hospital.

My 2 yr old son has just vomitted for the 3rd time since I've been home (12am) and 1 more time before that. He pukes and doesn't have a problem passing right back out. For example his last time he roled over and puked, cried a tiny bit and then he passed right back out. 3 days ago I contracted, what I thougt, was food poisening, but all last week my wife's mother was really sick with something... seems to be a coincidence!

If it only lasted a couple hours and not several days it was food poisoning...most people get it without even knowing it because they automatically label it as "stomach flu" if your doctor said 2 go if it doesn't go away I wouldn't worry about it if it's finally over with...

I am on day 6 of this and I still have diarrhea, cant eat anything that it doesnt give me gas (bloating feeling), gurgling in my stomach. I have lost 5 lbs. in this time and have tried Gas-X, Rolaids, Gaviscon for the gas issues, but havent tried anything for the diarrhea. I am drinking plenty so not feeling dehydrated. But there is nothing that I can eat that doesnt turn my stomach upside down and make me cramp really bad. Please tell me what you would suggest.

About a week later I had a small outbreak around my bellybutton lasting 2 weeks then 2 weeks after that I had minor flu like symptoms including some diarrhea and a cough after seeing the movie with easy e and him having HIV and seeing his continued cough I got really paranoid. I had small swelling of lymph nodes in my groin then a week later came fatigue muscle pain nerve disconfort and stomach pain (more of a upset stomach feeling). All this lasted about a month and a half.

Thanks for replying again. The only ''real flu'' I've had that just lasted just a few days was the 24 hr stomach flu. I've had bouts of horrible flu in the past which lasted almost 10 days. That's why I get a flu shot every year. I think I'd rather live with the outbreaks than the side effects of Acyclovir, but thanks so much for your help.

I felt like I had the worst case of the flu. Today (day 5) was like a whole new day thank the Lord. This has been a battle but is well worth it. All your posts have saved me.

I had diarrhea shortly after the encounter lasting approximately 2 months (still have soft stool), sore throat, fever (occurring around 6 month mark), flu like symptoms, tiny red dots on my body,mild night sweats, nausea, ear infection (6 months), stomach infection (5 months)and joint muscle pain to the point that I could hardly walk or sit (this occurred at 7 months and is slowly getting better). I had a negative test at 14 weeks and was advised that it was conclusive.
