Avatar f tn I cannot take more vitamin D, because I have hyperparatyroidism and I may get atrial fibrillation due to increasing vitamin D intake (last time at the beninning of this year, when vit D was increased to 100 mcg). During last few weeks my leg cramping has increased.
Avatar f tn On top of this it may be best to reduce your vitamin C intake when you are expecting your period as this does add to the intensity of your cramps. Some women use a huge flush of vitamin Cs to force their periods to come but when they succeed in doing so they are in for a rough ride. Hope this helps!

Then at bedtime, I repeat the calcium, magnesium, red yeast rice and vitamin C. I get everything I can in capsule form because it seems that I absorb it better that way.
Avatar f tn Thanks you so much for your response since I really have no idea about this. what I want to make sure is, since the doc is prescribed that alkali vit C not only for my sister, but doc also assured us it 'd be much better for a healthy person either ' do you think the statement saying that "taking usual acidic vitamin C is useless bcause our body will digest vitamin C better in alkali" is true?If that so, why all the vitamin C was made acidic ?

Avatar f tn My doc says I need more vit d so she put me on 2000mg a day. Are there any weird side-effects I need to watch for? Avatar f tn ve never gotten cramps before. Could it be caused by taking too much Vitamin C? The last time I had my period I took a lot of Vitamin C too because I was being paranoid of being pregnant cause I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. When I had my period then, I cramped a little bit but it wasn't as painful as now. But I took less Vitamin C now then that time. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend again about 4-5 days before my period was due which is on the 8th.
Avatar f tn Pains are pretty common the whole way through pregnancy, and it can be caused by a lot of things. If you're really worried and want to put your mind at ease, call your OB, have him/her check things out. Good luck!

409410 tn?1251072712 Also vitamin D deficiency causes heart, stomach, issues as well as muscle cramps, joint pain, anxiety and depression. Also Vitamin E and B 2, 6, & 12 deficiency can cause many health problems including diabetes.
Avatar n tn Technically, a vitamin tablet shouldn't dissolve in water -- it contains fillers and binders that are supposed to prevent it from doing that. It might get pasty, but it's intended to survive water until it hits the acidic/alkaline environment of the stomach during digestion (that's why vitamin C is recommended to be taken with meals). I haven't personally heard of it being used for constipation, however.
1580703 tn?1651904887 vitamin C (2000mg a daily recommended by a respiralogist) and 2000IU of vitamin D (also recommended) helped my lungs a lot. Although it is properly more related to lowering the inflammation caused by reflux than true asthma symptoms. The one supplement that helped the most though back when I was having severe asthma symptoms (to the point of needed a two week pred taper which wasn't helping that much) was something called N-acetyl-cysteine.
Avatar f tn Iron supplements will not be a problem if you take enough Vitamin C to alleviate those reactions. I expect that 2000 IU of C should be adequate. If not, take more. C does not cause a problem. Any excess is just excreted.
Avatar f tn My doctor recommended vitamin c n it's been working well for me

Avatar f tn fat soluble, such as A, D, E or K, and water soluble, including all of the B vitamins and vitamin C. Fat-soluble vitamins stay in your body, whereas water-soluble vitamins are absorbed immediately, with any excess being excreted in urine.
Avatar n tn So my boyfriend and I were playing around and he fingered me for the first time in my life.... He fingered me another two times on separate days and I started to feel cramping at the lower area of my stomach. I know it usually means period pains but all the times I got my period it's usually an ache and not pain. So I started eating parsley leaves and a lot of Vitamin C just in case. I've experienced a lot of diarrhea and I've been burping a lot.
Avatar n tn potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, or vitamins B1, B3, or B6 and Vitamin D. Generally deficiencies of any of the above can cause muscle twitching and spasms in localized or generalized areas of the body. Get your kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Hence if you take alcohol or coffee then cut this down.
