Avatar f tn I also probably should have mentioned that we have a family history of stomach cancer and stomach ulcers, which is also what got me to thinking this. My diet, when I do manage to get it down, is good - no worries there. I do not smoke, and drink alcohol occasionally. My specialist told me about an endoscopy but he said he didn't think I needed one, so instead, told me to wait. Do you really think it's worthwhile going back?
Avatar f tn Sometimes no symptoms are noticed because they can be so vague, or can easily be explained away by other causes, such as menstrual problems, fatigue, approaching menopause. Common symptoms many of us had are bloating, feeling full in the stomach, urinary frequency, back pain, bowel problems, abdominal discomfort or pain....... If you don't feel right, go for a good gyn check-up and express your concerns. Be persistant.
Avatar m tn Jon gave you great advice. It's very true that women can have different symptoms then men. We're all so different. I did not have the common symptoms, but, I did have a lot of what I thought were stomach issues. I was also very tired all the time. You are young at 42 but you do need to find a way to get checked out. My sister had her heart attack at 45. It's better to know what's going on. It could be stress and stomach issues or it could be heart related.
Avatar m tn Rafsan, your mother does need to get medical attention as soon as possible. As women, we know the severity of Breast Cancer. There are different types, some can spread rapidly without one even knowing. My mother's doctor just recently found a lump and turns out it is cancerous. I am not trying to scare you, but you do need to be aware of the high risk that women have of getting Breast Cancer. I would seek immediate medical attention..

Avatar f tn Stomach cancer may be without any signs and symptoms in the early stage. In later stages, it usually presents with upper gastro-intestinal symptoms like early satiety, upper abdominal discomfort, vomiting, pain, and weight loss. However, it is possible for stomach cancer to cause other symptoms like diarrhea. All the best, and God Bless!

Avatar m tn Since last year my periods have been irregular. I am 53. I would have a period for a couple of months, then not for a month, then for 3 weeks at a time, then not for 2 months, then finally last month (May) I started for one week very light and went for 3 weeks very heavy, and one week light. I have always had problems with cysts on my right ovary and have always had pain on that side during ovulation.
Avatar n tn s in your groin, you can get hernias in 5 spots i believe 2 sides of your groin (mostly in men), in your belly button (women mostly from child birth, or children born with them, however they are not uncommon in men) you can get them in your upper leg, and another spot on your tummy too....
976897 tn?1379167602 Most women believe that cancer (breast in particular) is the number one killer of women, and they are dead wrong! I am standing with you on this, dear friend.
Avatar n tn According to ovarian cancer statistics, this fourth-leading cause of cancer-related death in women will affect approximately 1 out of every 69 women born today. Other statistics show that the average age at diagnosis is 63 and the average age at death is 71. Ovarian cancer statistics gathered by the American Cancer Society indicate that in 2006, 20,180 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 15,310 women will die as a result. Thats enough for me..............they can take mine out.
341953 tn?1209481891 thanks so much for the comments. i thought for some reason it would be a little offensive, but you proved me wrong :) i did have a family doctor, but she is leaving the practice now....and to be honest she wasn't that great anyways. i was referred to a doctor that just came to my area, and from what i have read she is well known for being caring and really helpful. i don't go to her until feb 4th, and i feel sorry for her for all the loads of stuff i am going to drop on her!
Avatar f tn However i dont agree that OVCA is extremely rare for women our age in fact borderline tumours with non invasive implants are quite common in younger women (20's and 30's). Live life and be happy!
Avatar m tn Most women only have a 1.4% chance of Ovarian Cancer in their lifetime unless you have the BRCA Cancer gene and close relatives with Ovarian Cancer. With Ovarian Cancer you tend to lose weight. Anorexia is usually the first symptom listed. You could just be having heavy periods and need help with that. It is good to go to a gynecologist. The female system is complicated.

Avatar f tn Ovarian cancer may cause several signs and symptoms. Women are more likely to have symptoms if the disease has spread beyond the ovaries, but even early- stage ovarian cancer can cause them.
Avatar f tn dyspnea(sob) is occasionally present due to a pleural effusion. However, studies have found that symptoms occur in many women even at early stages of the disease. For this reason, early identification of symptomatic women has become a goal of the current approach to this disease.
