Avatar n tn In Bernese Mountain Dogs, a genetic familial susceptibility to the cancer has been observed. Other dogs that seem predisposed to histiocytic sarcoma include Flat-Coated Retrievers, Golden Retrievers and Rottweilers. Symptoms of canine histiocytic sarcoma include weight loss, low energy, limping and failure to eat. Chemotherapy has been mostly unsuccessful against this form of cancer, and most dogs succumb to the disease within months of diagnosis.
Avatar f tn This may just be a passing stomach upset, it may be a serious infection, or it may be pancreatitis, or something else.....it's impossible for me to tell you. Probably the best thing to do is to withhold food altogether for 24 hours NO FOOD AT ALL. Just water.
Avatar f tn I just wanted to mention the fact that you regularly give your dog milk ... unfortunately, milk is not good for dogs, so I would stop this straight away. Dogs are commonly lactose intolerant, for one thing, and while humans have specific enzymes to break down lactose (apart from those humans that are themselves lactose intolerant), dogs do not have enough of these enzymes, and the lactose often therefore causes diarrhea and/or digestive upset.
Avatar n tn My 7 year old boxer is all white and suffers from skin problems as noted in the test results. The summer months are the most difficult whereby the skin on his stomach becomes rough and very red. He has been on antibiotic therapy, which helps for a while, and is given the oral Vitamin A at 10,000 IU BID as recommended. For my part, I put aloe-vera on his stomach and sometimes spray SPF-75 on his ears and stomach.
Avatar m tn Well, nit all that unusual for dogs to vomit bile but it is a bit concerning that this has been going on for this long. You realize that you really should consult a Vet about this. There are conditions that can cause this type of vomiting that would need a Vet's diagnosis. How is he otherwise? How are his stools? How is his activity level? Is he drinking or peeing more or less? What food are you feeding? Perhaps this is a food allergy or gastritis of some sort.
Avatar n tn i have reflux and ibs but for thepast 2 weeks i have had a problem with the right hand side of my stomach i keep getting gripeing and crippling pain.
Avatar n tn At your age, it is even more unlikely and rare to have stomach cancer. The worrying is only making your symptoms worse. I would recommend talking to your doctor about seeing a therapist.
4307980 tn?1352565140 Hi, My Honey is a 4 year old Golden Doodle. I have two other dogs Hannah 5 year old Golden Doodle, and Dakota who is a 5 month old mixed Rottie/Mastiff pup. Honey always played with Hannah and Dakota, now she is on the sofa and won't come down unless you take her out and try and feed her. All my dogs eat one of the top notch dog food's you can buy Fromm, Gold for Large Breed Dogs. She will not eat it, I have been cooking hamburger and rice, chicken and rice, and she will eat this.

Avatar n tn Pet Diet plays a major role in influencing the effectiveness, pet response and ultimate outcome of chemotherapy in dogs and cats diagnosed with cancer. Cancer cells alter your pets body’s ability to metabolize dietary nutrients, including carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The effect of cancer on dog and cat glucose or "blood" sugar metabolism is most dramatic in pets.
969163 tn?1281105479 t want do give her something that might upset her stomach, or make her sick. She has cancer and has lost a lot of weight, now that it is getting much colder, I need to bulk her up. But of course money is low and I need to find more alternatives. My idea was to mix the mashed potatoes with the canned pedigree, is this ok??
Avatar f tn Ya, me either...if the vet wouldn't have told me I wouldn't have believed it...or maybe he's not a very good vet? Same guy that gave Sheba drops for ear mites without even looking or doing a swab...so who knows? Think I'll call the Kennel Club tomorrow and ask them.
Avatar m tn The night we put her down was the first day she was showing symptoms. Only symptoms she was showing was a swollen sore stomach. Which looked to of get bit bigger as night went on. She was still so happy, and hyper.. it hurts.
Avatar f tn I also probably should have mentioned that we have a family history of stomach cancer and stomach ulcers, which is also what got me to thinking this. My diet, when I do manage to get it down, is good - no worries there. I do not smoke, and drink alcohol occasionally. My specialist told me about an endoscopy but he said he didn't think I needed one, so instead, told me to wait. Do you really think it's worthwhile going back?
Avatar f tn that was positive for cancer. They isolated it to my liver and stomach area. They did an MRI and I have spots on my liver, so they did another one, and now I have a mass, but they say it's atypical. I have rapid heart beats, at some points, I throw PVC's, and have had to go to emergency 3 times, they don't know why this happens. My blood pressure also has gone up.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! I don't think you have stomach cancer or any other type of cancer. What treatment did you get for the H Pylori?
Avatar f tn She has no other symptoms, eating normal, sleeping normal, no vomiting, no labored breathing. As she is is 14, she does have some lumps and bumps on her body and moves more slowly than before....any guess as to what might be going on?
Avatar n tn at age 12...not old enough to be written off anyway. They are senior dogs, yes, and they can be sick dogs. But not just an old dog that has to be given up on. I ca't tell you exactly what was wrong of course. I don't know. And all the tests could have stressed her, and cost you a heck of a lot of money, maybe for you to discover she DID have the late stages of a terminal illness. It is possible -for example -that she had cancer of the Spleen or liver. I am so sorry.
Avatar m tn Hi i'm 23 years old and i'm worried i've got stomach cancer as i've read a lot of things on the internet about it.
Avatar n tn Vague but persistent gastrointestinal complaints such as gas, nausea, indigestion. Frequency and/or urgency of urination. Any unexplained change in bowel habits. Abnormal postmenopausal bleeding. Weight gain or loss. Abdominal swelling and/or pain; bloating and/or a feeling of fullness. Pain during intercourse. If vague symptoms persist longer than 4-6 weeks, insist on a thorough rectovaginal examination.
