Avatar n tn I NEED TO KNOW OF A GOOD OVER THE COUNTER COUGH MEDICINE,I HAVE A NAGGING COUGH THAT HURTS MY TEMPLE AREA WHEN COUGHING
Avatar f tn and it does go away as they tell me but any over the counter remedies should be discussed first w/a doctor...plus keep in mind that many opiate addicts have health problems no insurance have neglected their bodies and do not see a doctor on a regular basis!
Avatar f tn yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.
Avatar n tn But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.
Avatar f tn I have a cold an taking no medicine is killing me. Is there Any over the counter meds I can take?
5079728 tn?1365549989 So any medication that you can go in and buy without a prescription is considered an over the counter medication. This would include every single med lined up on the shelves ..... pain killers, cough meds, diarrhea meds, nausea meds, stomach meds, anti-itching meds, everything. If I recall correctly, you have cirrhosis, so you really do have to be careful not to take anything that the doctor does not approve first.
Avatar n tn Finally if going to the bathroom is painful run water over the area, urinate in a tub or shower. All these help to dilute the acid in the urine. If you have a lesion in an area that is causing a lot of pain and if it is so positioned that by putting a finger or two on it then put some thing on your hand and cover the area by pressing down and covering the area which will make it less painful to go to the bathroom. To make you feel better as well bath in either Aveeno or Epson (sp?
Avatar f tn An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.
Avatar f tn If you google opiate withdrawal you'll find the stomach ache is listed in with the symptoms. I read that it has to do with the opiate receptors. You've been on quite a stiff dose and it will take time to get back to normal. Great that you have your physician working with you on this. Keep going, you're almost there!
Avatar m tn It could be reflux. I would try an over the counter medicine like prilosec or prevacid to see if it helps.
Avatar f tn First, my doctor had in the pass given me some a medicine to help with my stomach which did not work. Also he had recommended an over the counter med for gas that helped but was not the best. He told me after I explained my symptoms (gas, bloating and a stomach ache) that he believes it is IBS. I have not lost weight which is a good thing. I told him that I have been eating (while on vacation 4ozs of Activia) and now that I am home I have increased it to 8ozs.
Avatar f tn I take it twice a day (hence it totals twice the max strength) and my stomach feels great as long as I stick to it. Over the counter comes in various strengths and the maximum strength even has an option that includes mint to give a cooling sensation. If you're not much for medicine, I recommend trying ice cream. Not a whole truck load of it or anything, like half a pint at a time.
Avatar f tn My doc thinks my vomiting and indigestion could be helped with over the counter indigestion meds. Is anyone else taking anything? Have they worked? How have they reacted with your anxiety meds? Thanks!
765828 tn?1306263868 , there could be a serious reason why this is happening, i dont mean to scare you, it could be that you are constipated and pushing to much, but if the bowl is filled up, i would call your doctor right away, and this way, they can rule out different causes and hopefully get to the problem, i wouldnt take anything over the counter until i was seen by a doctor, good luck, let us know how you make out.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to become addicted to over the counter medications? My 75 year old mother recently moved to my town so that I could help her financially, etc. I have become very concerned about the amount of excederine, prilosec, nasal spray, aleve, and other antacid medicines that she takes. She has a history of bleeding ulcers, she smokes about 2 packs of cigarettes a week, high blood pressure, and other ailments of old age. I didn't realize that she was taking so much of this medicine.
Avatar m tn First of all thanks in advance. This girl I'm seeing kind of forgot to take her Celexa for the past 5 days. Either she was busy or just forgot but now she feels like crap. Her dosage is 10mg. Is there anything I can get her so she can feel better? Preferably over the counter. You know maybe some food, tea or any over the counter medicine? Or any "household remedy" I can make for her?
Avatar n tn t handle Aspirin so the Doctor prescribed a slow acting one, a pill which will break down much slower and not upset the stomach. It seemed to work for about three weeks, but the stomach pains came back. So now I take Clopidogrel instead and this has been working since 2008.
Avatar f tn The Vet offered a perscription, but I would like to try something over the counter first. Can I give him aspirin or would it hurt me? Any advise would be appreciated.
2001101 tn?1331494740 If you get your anxiety down your stomach problems will get better. Yes, you can get the Pepcid Ac over the counter. You might want to get decaf peppermint tea. Caffeine and make your anxiety worse.
409410 tn?1251072712 I think the stomach thing and hardly any meat on me is causing the cold intolerance. It could be that anxiety and stress (and I have a lot right now) might be a cause.
Avatar f tn So I've had a stomach ache for the last three days! I can't eat anything without it hurting my stomach. Does anyone know of what I can take?
Avatar m tn I am currently taking 150 mg of effexor xr. My question is What over the counter medicine can I take for headaches?
Avatar m tn This can be due to gastritis or hyperacidity or heartburn. Pepto-Bismol is an over-the-counter drug used for treatment of nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhoea, and other temporary discomforts of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract. Ginger ale is often used as a home remedy to alleviate indigestion or motion sickness. Hence you can take them and once you feel slightly better you can get antacids and anti-emetics form the pharmacy. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Been going through a rough patch and never really had to deal with the nausea and stomach pain etc in the 15 + yrs of dealing with anxiety. The fluids definitely helps. I will do what you said about buying things I like. Therapy is great as for the longest time I didn't have it and I got tired of just seeing a psychiatrist and getting meds. I prefer to get to the root of why anxiety at all or at the very least work on triggers of it.The mind can mess with you sometimes that's for sure..
Avatar f tn Well I felt fine that night then the next morning I woke up with a migraine and was vomiting literally the whole day. TuesdayI felt fine except for a slight stomach ache, now Wed. I have horrible stomach pain in my abdomen and bloating. Could this all be from the pills I took? Would the side effects last this long?
