States where marinol is legal

Common Questions and Answers about States where marinol is legal

Avatar f tn There are some that will abuse anything and everything, legal or not. As for more harmful, actually it's not. Any kind of abuse is a bad thing for's just that pot does not have a tendancy to make people behave violently, and it is actually proven to be non addictive. So in most way's alchohol is far more dangerous. Now, I am not a propenent of making alcohol illegal...if people use if properly it's fine. It's illegal for underage people, which I fully fully agree with.
Avatar n tn I now plan on relocating to the left side of the country, Up in the corner where cannabis is legal to prescribe, and this will be where I take the next treatments for hep c
461838 tn?1255793816 The problem with nausea meds like zofran, and pills like marinol, is that during cancer chemo the nausea can be so bad that the patient cannot tolerate oral meds. I tried prescription nausea meds but they were horribly expensive and not particularly effective, even when I could hold them down.
649848 tn?1484935765 That often is an argument thrown up . . . well, alcohol is legal. What's that old saying, two wrongs don't make a right? I think I would be disturbed to walk by people smoking pot openly. I haven't smelled it in years, literally. I have not a friend that uses pot recreationally. It must be in various groups or something or you hang out with people like yourself, I don't know. But most people my age--- in my 40's have been there done that with pot (or never did) and are completely over it.
1056851 tn?1318724578 however other states where medical marijuana is legal (not very many) have learned from these mistakes and are working on tighter regulations, which is encouraging. I also live in Canada and am grateful medical marijana has been available for designated conditions for the past 10 years or so.
Avatar m tn Around 25% of heroin users become addicted. The worst is tobacco, where the number is closer to 30% of smokers, many of whom go on to die because of their addiction. There is clear evidence that in some people marijuana use can lead to withdrawal symptoms, including insomnia, anxiety and nausea. Even considering this, it is hard to make a case that it has a high potential for abuse. The physical symptoms of marijuana addiction are nothing like those of the other drugs I've mentioned.
224049 tn?1204594715 When it comes to a drug that is currently listed in schedule I, if it is undisputed that such drug has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States and a lack of accepted safety for use under medical supervision, and it is further undisputed that the drug has at least some potential for abuse sufficient to warrant control under the CSA, the drug must remain in schedule I.
560501 tn?1383616340 It's called Marinol (sp?) Many people do not think it works. One of the problems with isolating THC is that it removes the many compounds found in marijuana that may be involved in bringing relief to it's users.. Unfortunately, in this country, particularly at the Federal level, there is staunch resistence to using marijuana medicinally. However, with a drug such as Sativex, the gov't/FDA may be more willing to grant approval or even run further trials.
1747881 tn?1511918860 But the fact remains, it is still getting into the hands of children/adolescents and some people who are not so responsible. We talked about it before, perhaps on another cause, but where is the personal responsibility here? As a parent, it scares the $hit out of me regarding all of the crap out there that my kids may try. I just have to hope that every single talk we've had about the subject sinks in.
Avatar n tn I think medical pot, especially Marinol, is a really good option for our sx.s. It has been used for HIV tx. for along time. My doc wouldn't presribe it because I was getting really depressed & "he said" it can cause depression. I'm not sure if it really can, cuz I never felt depressed back in the old days. One real plus that I can see immediately is the munchies. I know I had no appetite while on tx.
Avatar n tn This was several months back and my memory is not what it used to be. If it were legal here I would give it a try. My take on fibro is that some drs were never taught anything about it therefore, it doesnt exist.

29837 tn?1414538248 Nausea and lack of appetite were not problems for me, but I understand how smoking would help those having those side effects. Which states allow MM? How willing are doctors to prescribe? Do you buy from a legal source or is it ok to buy it on the streets? Is Marinol (sp) as effective as smoking?
Avatar n tn It not only helps w/ depression, but increases the appetite and cuts down on depression in people treating for AIDS, but also is being used for HCV and anorexia. If it's legal here in good ole' N. Dakota (welcome to N.D., please set your clocks back 20 years) I imagine it's legal everywhere now. Pot in a pill, who woulda thunk it?
284078 tn?1282620298 It took us over 8 hours just to get the eye pressure under 50 (which is still about 3 times normal.) He was rapidly losing vision from an attack of acute angle closure glaucoma IN BOTH EYES. That is one of the most significant things that people don't always realize. In my business it is extraoridinarily rare for an acute, severe problem to happen to both eyes unless there is some sort of terrible industrial accident, explosion or facial trauma.
