She has been fine (except poorly diagnosed colic) up until 3 months ago when she got her 1st staph infection. Along with the staph she developed lethargy, high fever and a mild rash, this lasted about 3 days and she was better. A month later almost to the day, she got another staph infection, this time worse having to be lanced, the fever shot up to almost 105 and rash was bad...she stayed sick for a week and then better.

Yeah, I've also read that one of its side effects is skin discoloration/whitening. I just don't if it's a somewhat common side effect that can be expected or a dangerous one which is relatively uncommon & requires attention from a dermatologist. On the website that you've linked, it states that I should see a doctor if it's "severe." Yet what's considered "severe" in this case?
Yes. Staph infections are from a type of bacteria- staphylococcal. It can cause TONS of different problems and is easily spread to others. For example- have you ever heard of MRSA outbreaks? That is a kind of staph that is drug resistant and it can spread very easily. Toxic Shock Syndrome, when a tampon leads to a build up of bacteria that gets into the blood stream and shuts down the body, is another kind of staph infection. This doesn't mean you definitely have it, but it's possible.
I had a break out in my mouth last week and by Friday I had a sore on the bottom of my foot that woke me up because of the pain shooting up my leg. Went to doctor and he thinks it is a staph infection put me on antibodic and gave me a shot. Told me if it got worse to go to hospital. I have had these same sores for over 8 years and repeated upper respiratory infections.
Around 3 or 4 days ago something showed up on the side of my calf. At first I thought I had just cut my self and didn't think twice about it, until I noticed more bumps showing up in the same area. Now there are maybe 6 bumps ranging in size. They are slightly pink/red, slightly warm to the touch, and only itch every once in a while. On one of the bumps there's what looks like a scab. I often am outside at the river and go on hikes in Northern California.
About 1 week ago, started developing rash like pimply mark on right side of forehead followed by 3 swollen lymph nodes in neck, right side. Went to the nurse, she told me to change my earrings- didn't help. Next few days, started getting right sided migraines, extreme fatigue, eye pain(right side) and a general lack of appetite, also it was like my eyes moved slowly & I was sometimes disoriented. Went to doctor they told me "your body is working" and gave me ibuprofen.
Fish Oil does work as an anti-inflammatory...However, in a 3 month old puppy, you need to rule out Mange &/or Staph infection....Both are common in young dogs......A simple skin scrape (From your Vet) will rule out Parasites (Mange) & he/she will be able to tell by looking if it's a Staph Infection.....
Both conditions must be treated early ( With proper medications) or the battle is awful!!! Please, see your Vet ASAP.......

About a month ago, I had an ingrown hair near my vagina, and I attempted to pluck it. Long story short... it got incredibly infected, and I ended up with a staph infection. 2 brothers had a rash appear (and after swimming in a public pool) it has become severe and after several visits to a couple of different doctors it has been diagnosed as a staph infection. They are currently taking antibiotics for this. However, a skin scraping was not taken. Now, the health dept. and the parents are requesting the test to identify exactly which bacteria it is. Will the results be altered by already having the antibiotics on board?
MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) which is a type of staph infection is serious, if MRSA is suspected she should be taken to a doc asap. Staph can progress to impetigo (crusting of the skin) which might explain the area above her ear. Can you image search staph or MRSA and maybe give us a good description of the pustules?

I agree with your dermatologist as it can either be due to herpes or due to bacterial infection like staph caused by shaving and worsened by friction rub. Only culture of the wound can confirm the diagnosis. Lymphadenopathy can be found in infection (bacterial as well as viral). Hence you should wait for the report to rule out any herpes. Till then use mild soaps and wear cotton clothes.
Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. Apply warm compresses on the boil and keep the area clean.Drainage of the boil is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head.Take some over the counter pain reliever and consult a doctor for examination and antibiotics prescription.If there are recurrent boils,then pls get your blood sugar levels estimated.

Is it Staph epidermidis or Staph aureus. Ask them about that too. If staph epi then it is just normal bacteria and doesn't need treatment if Staph aureus it depends on how much you have of it. If only a few bacteria then they may not treat it but if you have a lot then they will give you an antibiotic. It depends on how what term you are in in your pregnancy if they can give you antibiotics. But the antifungal is a topcial so it should be okay.

I took a treatment with antibiotics called ofloxacin 400 mg for ten days, my tests showed to be sensible to this drug. During the treatment the acne almost vanished but after i stopped it the situation was as bad as always.

Since you are having staph infection, so if your girlfriend has been diagnosed with staph infection then chances are there that the infection got transmitted during physical contact like sexual contact or skin to skin contact. It is very surprising that the infection has not shown much results with antibiotics, In such cases, it is advisable to get the culture sample from the sores and a biopsy skin done which will confirm the diagnosis.

A couple months ago my face broke out in these itchy blotchy bumps which stay on my face all the time but it seems at least twice a day it flares up and it unbearable. My allergist said i had a staph infection also. Could that be triggering the rash on my face or would it be apart of the allergy? or a combination of both?
infectious disease dr got involved and did all blood work to rule out infection. All which came back negative for MRS, STAPH and all they could do after IV ANTIBIOTICS (she needed iv Benadryl as the rash and itching became unbearable.) is send her home to an allergist. allergist ran a few tests including autoimmune testing. New bloodwork came back positive for drug induced lupus! her rash and itching are not getting better despite on being on so many antihistamines.
Since I posted my situation, I have been to see the doctor. I was diagnosed as having a staph infection called impentaigo. Staph can be picked up anywhere and can live very long on any surface. I contracted it from my husband (who most likely picked it up at the gym) when he and I used the same towel to dry our faces. I then, not knowing what it was, spread it to other parts of my body through scratching. The doctor prescribed a cream that specifically kills staph and MRSA.
