Common Questions and Answers about Stages of death with lung cancer

death

Avatar m tn Please keep in mind that this varies according to the location of the metastisis. I personally know of survivors of many years with mets to the bone. It would also depend on your Mother's general health and what treatment will be prescribed. Another point is that all the lumps you describe in your Mother's breasts may not be cancerous; it would only take one malignant lump to cause the metastisis. Kindest regards ....
Avatar f tn Hi my name is Dawne and I am 48 years old. I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer Stage IV on August 21, 2007. My cancer has mets into my lung. I found out last week that my calcium levels are very high. I also suffer from severe rheumatoid arthritis and osteoperosis. My RA doc wanted me to take reclast for my RA. My cancer doc is concerned that my high calcium levels are indicators of my cancer spreading into my bones. I am having a bone scan on this Thursday coming up.
Avatar n tn t do any lifting or it makes it worse. Im wondering if I have the early stages of lung cancer. my father had lung cancer when i was 10, but it was non malignant.
8016255 tn?1396293364 My father died of what was told to us of lung cancer, but he had brain cancer, a heart attack, liver cancer, caused by prostate cancer. I'd simply center on keeping the family in comfort unless you think a crime was committed.
Avatar f tn I think the key is eliminating the cause of what is damaging your liver regardless of whether it is hep c or alcohol or Nash (fatty liver deposits) or whatever else it may be. If the damage has not gone to far, your liver has the ability to regenerate or at least not continue to deteriorate. If you have more then one cause, naturally it will accelerate the damage, that's why not drinking alcohol and not being overweight are so important if you have hep c.
1014186 tn?1251036546 40 is young for lung cancer, but then again it's also very young for a diagnosis of emphysema! My Mother smoked heavily until she was diagnosed with lung cancer at 45yrs old. I provided palliative care over the next four years, until she finally lost her battle aged 49. It's not a nice prospect to face, and usually the doctors are usually up front with their suspicions.
Avatar m tn ty hunn my mom died in 1984 my dad died in 1985 i was born 1982 both died from same thing except my dad had a rare form of heart cancer and lung cancer as well

Avatar n tn Using this system, outcomes are best for patients with early stages of disease, with small tumours, no spread to lymph nodes, and no distant spread (metastasis) to other organs. Outcomes are also better for younger patients. Overall, despite treatment, 5-year survival for all types of lung cancer is not good: 11% for males and 14% for females.
Avatar m tn Cancer has spread in the lung. Now blood is beginning to accumulate in his lung. We were told when blood starts to accumulate that is a sign he is in the final stages and we can expect a rapid decline going forward. Would someone shed some light on this for us? What should we expect?
1511858 tn?1290477459 A rare side effect of Cellcept is Lymphoma. Not to induce your panic but I would recommend having Lymphoma ruled out. A lesion in the lung can be benign or malignant. The PET scan will reveal more.
4461995 tn?1357955108 I just found out this morning that a dear friend was just diagnosed with Lung Cancer that has metastasized to her brain. She just found out and it is Stage 4. She has started radiation but doesn't know about chemo yet. Does anyone have any words of advice for me as to the best way to be supportive? I live in NJ, she is in CA and I am going to go out there to stay with her for a while soon. She is single.
Avatar f tn The docotrs unfortuneately CANNOT tell where they are UNTIL they replant, either in the same location or in new loactions in your body. It is pretty textbook for people with ANY kind of cancer @ the two year mark AFTER "Treatment" that these NEW cancers are discovered. When I asked Oncology HOW will they know, they told me that they have to WAIT to see them in scans/x-rays/CT's ect ect.
Avatar f tn Stomach cancer may be without any signs and symptoms in the early stage. In later stages, it usually presents with upper gastro-intestinal symptoms like early satiety, upper abdominal discomfort, vomiting, pain, and weight loss. However, it is possible for stomach cancer to cause other symptoms like diarrhea. All the best, and God Bless!
2088555 tn?1332655139 Hello and hope you are doing well. If you are a smoker and have developed long standing lung infections/inflammation it can compromise your lung function. Breathlessness on exertion could be due to the decreased lung function. There could also be superadded infection o the lungs. It's unlikely to be cancer of the lungs. To improve lung function practice breathing exercises and quit smoking. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation.
518117 tn?1429276273 I thought for certain I would be coming in with bad news that you had lung cancer. The breast cancer was bad, but your next cancer will be terrible and there will be another cancer if you do not stop smoking. One that no one will be able to cure you from. It will happen sooner rather than later." There has been a lot of stress in my life. I lost my oldest child at age 31 three years ago. My world and life totally stopped. My son was very ill the last year of his life. I took care of him.
Avatar m tn While lung cancer usually does not cause signs and symptoms in the earliest stages, symptoms such as chronic cough, coughing up blood, chest pain, hoarseness, weight loss and shortness of breath may occur. To rule this out and ease any worry, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Direct clinical examination and additional diagnostic tests such as imaging studies of the lungs may need to be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
514586 tn?1211451717 Hi, Cement dust would contain silica and this can be related to the development of lung cancer. A problem with this risk factor is the difficulty in quantifying what constitutes a significant amount in relation to the occupational exposure. If there are findings in the lung already in the imaging study, then you could discuss the possibility of doing a biopsy with the doctor in order to confirm if there is cancer or not.
Avatar f tn could it be anything other then cancer in my lung, my family has a history of lung cancer, and I quit smoking in 2001. could the pain in my butt be related to the nodule in my lung? could the kidney be affected? please tell me it's probably nothing more then a cyst.. I'm 54 years old and already went through the grind.. I'm a postive person, but still quite frightened at the prospect of having to go though it all again! I appreciate any responses ..
Avatar n tn Although I am very worried, given what I described, do you think its more likely an infection or remnants of TB, or are those symptoms of lung cancer developing?....I did get a TB test sometimes in august after returning from vacation in Asia, however, the results were fine (I had to get this done for preparing to enter professional school). I am not sure what to think, but it’s hard to concentrate on anything. Thank you for your inputs.
