916131 tn?1318681712 You and I will never be the same. Death has a cruel way of changing us a human being, but we are also survivers and will be able to handle anything that comes our way. It's going to be ok, but one day at a time and one step at a time...

Avatar f tn I had a 5 year old male maltese and on christmas eve, I gave him a small piece of pork and let him chew on the large pork shoulder bone. On christmas morning when I woke up, it was apparent that my baby was sick the whole night as there was vomit all over the kitchem which is where he slept, his water bowl was empty and after filling it was apparent he was dehydrated as he drank all the water but then threw it up. After a few hours he seemed ok, not too happy but the vomiting had stopped.

Avatar n tn A person who is developing IPF will first begin to notice a shortness of breath, a general fatigue, and often a dry, hacking cough which cannot be controlled. Progressive: As a patient with undiagnosed IPF continues their daily activities, the lack of oxygen circulation begins to become more and more obvious, and the patient will find themselves out of breath during even the most routine activities.
Avatar f tn I'm living it right now and to be honest, I am aware of 5 to 7 steps or stages of the grief process, but they don't matter, because you survive one day at a time ....baby steps, and not time frame, since everyone heals at their own pace. It's been 2 years for me and I do feel better, but I am not yet completely healed...it takes a long time.
Avatar n tn A person in heart failure should be on a cocktail of drugs and usually a pacemaker or ICD is implanted, but even then it won't stop the heart from failing completly. Currently to my knowledge stem cell research is only in the animal testing stages but looks encouraging. As to why her doctor did not order a pacemaker I can only guess he assumed her case was too far gone and the risk of the procedure did not outweigh the benefits.
495284 tn?1333894042 You may isolate yourself on purpose, reflect on things you did with your lost one, and focus on memories of the past. You may sense feelings of emptiness or despair.
Avatar f tn It has been a sad couple of days on Medhelp! I am terribly sorry for the death of your pet. I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier myself and I know how horribly sad I would feel at his unexpected death. Could you please supply some answers to the following questions so that I may be able to give a more detailed answer? 1. How long was your bike ride? 2. Could your dog go outside unsupervised? 3. Did your dog have access to garbage, and other non-food items, chocolate, or raisins? 4.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry fir the sudden loss of your puppy! Just death and the lack of circulation could be the cause. However, it could have been lack of oxygen from choking or possibly heart problems. Yes, could be poisoning so do check your yard thoroughly. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell unless a necropsy is done.
Avatar m tn There are many other less common reasons. Many times a veterinarian can perform a necropsy( an animal form of an autopsy) to determine the cause of death.
Avatar f tn Stage 1 is considered a small amount of fibrosis. Stages 2 and 3 is considered a greater amount of fibrosis or scarring meaning the disease has progressed. The more fibrosis the harder it is on the liver to carry out it's functions. As the damage progresses further, many scars can form together, which can lead to stage 4, or cirrhosis.
976897 tn?1379167602 There was no brain activity at all, yet she kept her memories and all body functions. Nobody knows why being cold has this effect on cells. A man required an aortic aneurysm to be operated on quickly, it was due to rupture. His heart was stopped while a bypass machine took his blood, cooled it to around 18 C and was pumped back into his body. All the monitors were flatline. No brain actitivity, dilated pupils and no heart beat. He was what would be normally classed as dead.
Avatar m tn Hi my dog Jessie a king charles spaniel about 7-8 years old was diagnosed with cancer about 7 mounths ago it had a growth on its mouth the lower gum and had also got growths on the side of her eye about four mounths ago and on her leg in the last month they said they could do little more than provide her with steroids.
296076 tn?1371334474 In the paper years ago I saw a picture of a 4 month old that had been abused to death. several broken bones at various stages of healing. That picture still haunts me. The baby was so perfect and all it knew in life was pain. At least this baby has a chance at a life. I hope they revoke parental rights immediately so this baby can be adopted!
Avatar n tn The point is there are alot of feral dogs around here (from which we saved him) and if he makes a sound on the plane more likely than not standard SOP will be followed and the animal will be shot.
1211319 tn?1282527452 No one can really answer this but it sounds like it wont be long before getting a lot worse. Dying from liver disease is a horrible death i.e not having a sound mind, vomiting blood everywhere. Sorry you are going through this. I'm not going to say to get him help because I'm sure you have tried this many times. Just try and make him comfortable until the end. Hope you or him don't suffer much.
Avatar f tn I have never known a dog to die that long after receiving a rabies vaccine and have the death be caused by the vaccine. Rabies vaccines are killed vaccines, meaning the virus that is being injected is not viable and therefore not able to cause disease. An anaphylactic reaction usually happens almost immediately after being injected, and if not almost immediately, certainly within 24 hours. Unfortunately, the only way to tell for sure what the cause of death was would be a necropsy.
Avatar n tn Did you have a necropsy done on her? (An animal autopsy). That could have shed some light on the cause of her death. Any other comments that we might make would be nothing more than guesses at this point in time. You mentioned that she was a healthy active dog...when was her last veterinary visit?
Avatar f tn 90% of a flea problem is in the other three life cycle stages that live on the pet or in the environment. Spot on treatments kill adults and the eggs and it much more effective, safe and the best treatment we have to date. It is also true that good house keeping with plenty of vacuuming is an important part of the overall control of environmental life cycle stages.
11856217 tn?1421620474 I too am so very sorry. I lost our 3 year old dog the week before Christmas a year ago. In a horrible way---- my father in law had passed away that day and I was upstairs at bed time talking to my kids about his death. I spent extra time with each of my kids letting them get their thoughts and feelings out. I then noticed after a bit that my trusty, faithful dog was not upstairs with us. I found her in the kitchen with a bag over her head.
Avatar n tn Problem is it takes a gentle, trained hand to feed a small animal and too often the animal will aspirate (breath in) some of the fluid, food or formula. It gets into the lungs and is a perfect medium for bacteria to grow. And it can be hard to catch it in time. By the time I see the animal at work, it's already non-responsive and having trouble breathing. The treatment plan was excellent but it's a tough thing to beat. Again, I'm sorry.
1201072 tn?1289760591 My wife who recently broke her Femur and has had Hepatitis C for a long time refuses any treatment for this Hepatitis condition. On the contrary she drinks at least 10 beers a day and also mixes this with other prescription drugs. The Doctor at the Hopital said she is operating on 8% of her liver and her chances of living for the next one year is slim if she keeps on drinking. His statement to her had no effect and she continues to self destruct.
Avatar f tn t sound like a lawsuit would do what you want. You might instead post a brief and straightforward account of what happened on Yelp or other review site, and also, you could talk to the veterinary licensing board and explain what happened and see if they tell you it was a wrongful death. They will probably investigate, and both that and your review will get the vet's attention at the very least. Be plain when telling the story, just explain the facts, don't let the tone be vindictive.
