I don't get it all the time it is once in a while and not necessarily when I breath in. It is when I lay down. I don't know which one it is you have if any. But these are some suggestions for you. I have been having horrible chest pain for four years now and it feels like knives stabbing into my chest. At first it was only on my left side and would last a couple of seconds to an hour. Now it has obviously gotten much worse at will last up to two days at a time, and ocassionally on my right side as well. ve actually had similar problems. I get this pain on the far left side of my chest and sort of under my arm. Then it might switch to the right side for a while and then go back. It is only when I am resting and so far only at night. The pain is mild but I have no idea what it is. I am 16 and im very healthy as far as i know. I run and have been swimming a lot more recently. I have had a stabbing/burning pain in the left side of my abdomen for about a month now. I have nausea and vomiting, no appetite and go between loose stools and feeling constipated. Hey, Same thing has been happening to me. On and off pain on the left side of chest. I also got an ECG and everything was OK. i still have the bloody thing and its driving me mad.. it even radiates to my back and sometimes my left arm. I also have GERD so that's one potential cause. I reckon in your case it would be muscle strain. its like this, if something was going to happen, it would have happened by now.

The gall bladder is on the right side of the body so it most likely isn't that. i have such intense left side pain its under my left breast like in my ribs gos around to the center of my chest . i take a RX but sometimes its not enough. i do NOT have burning and that seems strange to me, this pain will last up to 10 hours and always at night. i dont eat before bed so i dont know what brings this on. i thought it was my heart did all the tests and $8000 later my heart is good... but this pain is SO INTENSE .
