Common Questions and Answers about Sprintec lo

ortho-tri-cyclen

Avatar f tn I used to take tri-lo-sprintec tablet generic for (ortho tri-cyclen LO) for the past 6 six years, but in Michigan we do not have it in generic form anymore. Therefore this month i started taking Eth estradi/norgestimate and I feel very lazy and sleepy all the time and I see that I have been gaining weight. My question is is what I am taking now the same as what I was taking before because that is what the pharmacy told me?
Avatar n tn Just kidding... I am on Tri-Sprintec, not Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo. I don't know if it makes a difference though.
Avatar f tn t keep my skin under control without being on the pill, so I saw my gyn and she suggested I might feel better if I have a steady dose of hormones instead of the varying levels Tri Sprintec provided. She prescribed Sprintec, which I will be starting next week. Could you help me understand the difference of how these two similar pills work? I know they are the same hormones, but how much do the levels differ?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I'm usually on the Maternal and Child Health forum because I had a baby girl last year. But my question is more about women's health so, here I am :) I'm on birth control pills called Tri-sprintec. It's the generic of Ortho Tri-cyclen. I stopped taking them for a little while partly because my partner and I really have no time to be intimate and it's hard for me to remember to take them everyday. Anyhow, I started taking them again two months ago.
Avatar f tn Hi Kay, Here is something you may find intresting Tri-Sprintec contains female hormones and therefore alters your female gynecological symptoms. Tri-Sprintec typically causes nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain, vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities and changes in your appetite and weight. Tri-Sprintec can affect your appearance and cause increased hair growth, loss of hair or freckling of your skin. It can cause nervousness, a headache and fatigue.
Avatar n tn About 3 months ago, I asked if there was a cheaper alternative because I was paying $50 a month for Ortho Lo. I started taking Tri-Sprintec, a generic version with increased estrogen.) I missed my period the second month and in the last week of the third month I started experiencing a lot of anxiety and depression. I have never experienced these things before in my life. I went to the doctor immediately and they chose to put me back on the Ortho Lo.
Avatar m tn I just started using the birth control Sprintec a week ago. I had a stroke on Monday. I cannot walk well, but other than that I have recovered quickly. I will be 20 on Saturday. I am only 19. I want to know how many others are out there who have taken sprintec and either had a TIA or a stroke due the birth control...is there anyone else?
Avatar n tn My next cycle was regular 28days. One day 1 of my period I started tri-sprintec, but discontinued it after 3 pills. This month my period is now going on 5 days late and 2 pregnancy tests have been negative. Is this normal? I did have unprotected sex during this month, but my husband did not ejaculate inside of me. Please help...
Avatar f tn I was taking BC sprintec (3 month doses) at the time in which my BC stopped working...aka I was having a period every month instead of every three months and it was happening while on active pills. After my period, I got intense vulva irritation, felt like a stabbing knife that would come and go throughout the day. Redness and swelling of vulva. No lesions. No blisters. No fever. No tingles. I got tested for everything under the sun with the only hit was on my HSV IGM coming up...
Avatar f tn I have been taking Sprintec for almost a month now and its caused my breasts to swell and nausea so far, but those side effects have gone away. Now my vaginal area is itchy and uncomfortable and I think it might be the pills. Should I call my doctor and set up an appointment to check and make sure its the pills and nothing serious?
Avatar n tn Ive be taking sprintec for 3months forgot to refill my prescription so I have missed 4 pills in a row sunday-wednesday they would all be blue pills. I have had intercourse with in theses days. Should I take a pregnancy test before I start back on the pill? If so when should I take the pregnancy test?
Avatar f tn I am 21 years old and on oral contraception (Tri Lo Sprintec) and have been on the same one for the last 9 months with next to no irregular bleeding, in fact it had made my period shorter. 2 weeks ago I started bleeding before I even started the inactive pills and it is still continuing. Relatively no cramps or any other side effects aside from the heavy bleeding. I took several pregnancy tests to see if maybe I was unknowingly pregnant and miscarrying, but they were all negative.
Avatar n tn Hello, if a person takes their birth control (Tri Sprintec) every night at 9pm, but forgets to take it at 9pm one night and has sex from 930pm to 1030pm, and then remembers to take it again at 12 midnight (3 hours late), is there a chance for pregnancy?
Avatar f tn I was on Ortho Tri for nine years, no problems. After switching to sprintec, the pills no longer worked. I was having periods while on the active pills and my vulva became dry and irritated (like a knife stabbing it). I can't get the pain to go away. Anyone else with this problem?
1430817 tn?1283289443 I have been takin my birth control (tri-sprintec) since march but i dont take it the same time everyday! should i be worry bout getting pregnant???
Avatar m tn Yesterday my dermatologist prescribed me 25mg Spironolactone 2xD and Tri-Sprintec BCP to help clear my skin up. I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body. I know that birth control pills increase estrogen levels in the body and that spironolactone is an antiandrogen drug, and naturally the body will replace androgens with estrogen.
Avatar m tn I just started taking this bc Tri-sprintec and im on day 3 I woke up and i seem to be extremely tiered. Is this caused by the bc? I have no energy to do anything.

Avatar f tn For about three months I've had these red rings on my upper thigh. They are just an outline of a perfect circle and aren't raised, indented, or itch. I've been taking Celexa and sprintec for 7 months, but the rings started months after I began taking the medicine. They sometimes form on top of each other, or don't form complete circles too.
Avatar f tn I've been on sprintec for 4 months and for the first 3 had no period. But now I've had my period for 3 weeks it slowed down for a day and I had sex. Then it came back. After two weeks I stopped with my pills and it has only gotten worse. I don't know what to do I'm weak and cranky all the time.
Avatar f tn I'm taking Sprintec birth control. Ive been on it for about 7 months now. On this pill pack, I missed the very first active pill on week 1, and took it the next morning. I usually start on a sunday, but I took the pill on that Monday. That Thursday, I was with my long distance boyfriend for the weekend and we had sex 4 times. He wore a condom every time, but I'm still scared. Could I be pregnant?
Avatar f tn Sprintec? If you're on a birth control pill, you shouldn't be ovulating.
Avatar f tn I've been on Sprintec birth control for 6 months and never had this problem till now. I have always started my period 3 days after I started taking the white pill. Right now I'm on the last week of my blue pills and I've started cramping and spotting a little. I'm not sure if it's normal or not to start your period a week early while on birth control or not because it's never happened to me until now.
