Spotting between periods could be caused by uterine polyps. You should ask your gyno to do an ultrasound to rule that out before you get the IUD. The IUD helps for bleeding but only if your uterus is clear of polyps and/or fibroids. Otherwise you'll still have bleeding issues anyway even with the IUD.
I am a 20-year-old female. About 7 months ago, I began spotting between periods. It would happen once or twice a month, in the middle of my menstrual cycle, and would last 2-3 days. The blood was light brown in color. After this happened a couple times, I went to see a gynecologist. When I described it to her, she said it was normal and that it was because I was ovulating, and that it may have been caused by stress.
Mine started in January, the whole month, but only with spotting. But this month, starting 3/15, I started spotting. And today I am bleeding but not heavily with some small clots. I am not on any medication just multivitamins. I do work graveyard shifts as a nurse and thought it could be stress or not eating right. Someone please help in answering our questions. I can't explain not having intercourse with my husband because I am having this problem.
Hey everyone I am asking this question regarding my girlfriends problems she has been having lately. She usually has her period between the 20th-30th every month. She didnt have hers in august because she had just had her gallbladder removed im thinking, but had some weird things start to happen in early september. She thought she was having a period around the 8th of september but she said it was just spotting. I picked up a preg. test and it said negative.

This time it was more although I did not have to wear sanitary napkins.. But am worried. Am scared of going to the doc as well..... Can anyone tell me if this is serious?

I ,too, have alot of spotting with discharge between my cycles. I do have a cyst on my left ovary associated with pcos. I'm am on metformin. I know they cause irregular bleeding. What I don't understand is why I am spotting the same time every month. I've read it could have alot to do with the changes in hormones. I've also heard some people spotting just before or during ovulation.
Irregular periods and spotting in between can be a sign of a hormone imbalance.
If you are not eating properly and may be anaemic that too can throw your menstrual cycle off balance as too can stress.
It was wise of you to do a pregnancy test, because sometimes you can get a light show of spotting.

Spotting in between,skipped months,crampy months with or w/o a period,heavy ,clotty periods,red blood periods,brown light periods of 9-10 days,mid cycle periods,all of it. I just guessed it was normal for peri" mental" pause.

I hve all the other symptoms:momory issues,at times wicked mood swings,body aches and pains,bloating,cramps,hot flushes,etc. ugh. At least I am heading in the right directions...
Light bleeding/spotting between periods is very common and is usually just a small amount of blood from your last period that did not get expelled. It is usually kind of brown in color as it's "older" blood. If what you are seeing now is fresh (bright red) blood, I urge you to see a gynecologist. I would urge you to see the doctor either way to simply rule out any problem. If you use tampons during your period, there is some possibility they may be irritating your hymen.
This is light pink and sometimes red! Not super dark but bright red like fresh blood red. I had horrible cramps starting on cd 9 and it stop on cd12 when I started to spot the pink and red. Now it’s cd 13 and I’m spotting red. If I need to go, I will see my doctor but I want to see if others have had this and if it was just a random occurrence or if it turned out to be something more serious.
