period

Avatar n tn but you can still spot and bleed sometimes while on the pill. even if you have been on the pill for a year. it happens. it doesnt usually mean anythings wrong.
963403 tn?1247176873 It is normal to have irregular spotting between periods, especially when you're new to the pill. The pill also makes your periods much lighter, because what the drug does is thin out your uterine lining. The thinner the lining, the lighter your period will be when it sheds. (That's what a period is-- the blood is what lines your uterus every month.
Avatar n tn Sometimes your periods won't come bang on when you finish your last pill. Implantation bleeding is a reddish/pinky colour. Brown discharge is a sign of old blood which is normal at the beginning of your period. I was in the same boat as you last month. My period was 6 days late, had pink spotting which scared me so I took a test and came out negative. But my period did come and it is normal for your periods not to come bang on time when you finish your last tablet.
Avatar f tn I have been on birth control for 2 months now. I haven't missed any pills, but I usually take them within 2 hrs. Its always between 825 and 10. But 4 days ago I had un protected sex then took my pil 4 hours late. Then the next day I started on my white pills. I'm on yaz so I only have 4 white pills and I'm on the day where I should be starting my new pack and still no period. Is it possible to be late while on birth control? Or do I have a big chance of being pregnant?
Avatar n tn i have been on yasmine pill for the last four months and the weeks i supose to get my periods for the last four months, i have kept taking the pill- im not sure wat time in the month my period is due now! is it dangerous or bad to keep taking the pill when im suppose to get my periods ? i have been getting spots of bleeding for the last 2 weeks now! i would be grateful for any advice on this topic?
Avatar n tn I have just been prescribed with YAZ the birth control pill. My period came, so i took the first tablet, but then it stopped within hours. My periods normally last for 7 days. I don't think im pregnant, is this normal?
Avatar f tn m looking everything up and the bad side effects for coming off the pill. The reason I went on YAZ about ten months ago was to first (vainly), clear up my pimple problem which I never had before until I started to get my periods twice a month (which was the second reason I went on).
Avatar f tn I know it’s a lot of info, but I am worried I’m one of the 1% who get pregnant on the pill. I also understand there is always a chance I could be pregnant with unprotected sex and that I should take a test if my period doesn’t come on Friday. I’m scared because I’m a pretty good pill taker and I’m healthy and active- could it just be my body trying to adjust to the pill again, can I have spotting this soon before my period, what are the chances of being pregnant?
Avatar f tn I have been on Yaz for almost a year now.. and last month I finished my entire pack including the white pills without any "withdrawal period." I start each pack on a Sunday, and on my second pill on the new pack (Monday) I got some spotting like how it is when you are about to start your period. However, it ended there. My full "period" never came. Yesterday, i finished that pack and still my period hasn't come.
Avatar f tn The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.
Avatar n tn Sometimes when your on the pill for a long time, your period sometimes goes away. My periods before when I started the pill, were like 4 days...now they are about 2 days of spotting. Some months I have cramps and sometimes I dont. If you used a condom, i doubt your pregnant...especially if the condom didn't break.
290867 tn?1333569278 The only downside of pills with only one hormone is that sometimes you have missed periods or no periods, but this did not happen to me. My periods were very regular, no nausea. Nothing. The pill was also very effective in preventing pregnancy for me even though lots of people don't think so! But if you use a condom or the pullout method I really think you'd be safe and it really all just depends on your body. Some things work for some people and others don't.
Avatar m tn m very good about taking the pill on time and I even take the sugar pills which is supposed to be the time when you have your period. I have probably missed a pill or two during the years I've been taking it but again I have never had any problems. I am sexually active and my partner and I sometimes have unprotected sex. I worry that sometimes I may be pregnant because my periods will be light sometimes and heavy with clots other times.
Avatar f tn She believes that I had been a little stressed this past month because we had a pet emergency, plus my job (I am a petshop associate and I am on my feet a lot) and now being off the YAZ. She said the lateness is most likely the YAZ having finally been cleared of my system. Is that true, does it take 2-3 months for a birth control pill to leave the system? Am I just being overly worried and that combined with everything else causing the lateness?
178590 tn?1294176767 I was on the mini pill and got my first AF in October after I stopped BF in September. I stayed on the mini pill until just recently because I had 2 more months of it already. I got my AF mid pack for 2 months - I assume since mini pill doesn't stop O, I got my AF 2 weeks after O regardless of where in the pack I was. My doctor didn't say anything about switching pills other than pick up where you left off, don't have to wait for AF and start after that.
Avatar n tn The one thing that has NOT changed is my bizarre periods, which began around when I was diagnosed as hypothyroid. Even though I am on the pill, I have spotting/breathrough bleeding throughout the month, every single month. It's almost on schedule - I can predict when it's going to happen. My doc has changed my birth control pill a few times to try to get things back to normal, but there's been no change. My pap test is normal. Anyone else have this frustrating problem?
Avatar f tn t had sex for 7 weeks since me and my ex broke up. So I missed three days in a row of my pill on the third week, and I read you are supposed to restart a whole new pack if you miss that many on that week. But between that time I got my period, so I started taking a new pack like the instructions said. The weird thing is, is that I'm still on my period and today is day 9. My periods are usually short, probably 4 days.
Avatar f tn Last month I started to have some brown spotting between my periods. I didn't think much of it, but it seriously lasted from like...five days after the end of my period until the beginning of my next period. That worried me. But it went away after my most recent period ended, so I thought I was fine. But today I noticed it was starting up again. My period ended a week ago. What is going on?
Avatar f tn Could this be implantation or regular spotting while on Yaz? I have also been having diarrhea since the day before i had brown discharge. Could this be the cause of the spotting?
Avatar f tn Have you seen the write up on the YAZ pill and issues people have experienced as Bayer "maker" of YAZ has not kept to their promises in terms of how good this pill is compared to other contraceptives. In a forum on this website there were quite of bit of ladies who told thier stories relating to this pill, headaches, bad acne, heavy mood swings, lot of others. Is Yaz treating u well?
11403762 tn?1417924478 Not taking a pill either.
Avatar f tn I hope that the 8 pounds comes off easily after stopping the Yaz. I decided to take a pill break and hope things revert to normal. The only postitive aspect of Yaz for me was that my skin looks great. It did not help with my fatigue.
911052 tn?1242791283 So I was on the marina IUD for two years and I just got it taken out on the 24th of April. The day I got it taken out I started taking the pill (Yaz). I didn't wait seven days to have sex nor did I have protected sex with a condom within those days. I have been feeling very moody and tired lately and have been eating more than I usually do and have been having food cravings. I have also been bloated.
Avatar n tn A year a ago I was on a pill and I thought that my anxiety and weight was an issue so I changed to the Yaz combined pill. My anxiety and weight haven't changed. I have never had trouble with weight until this past 2 years and although I am watching what I eat and exercise 3 times a week nothings is working. I also get extremely lethargic the week before my period and this has been since my last child 10 years ago. Is there any pill out there that will help?
Avatar m tn Hello there, I've heard from more than one source that the bc pill Yaz also sold as Yasmin, same stuff, is dangerous. If Yaz is causing you to be depressed, with panic attacks and anxiety, I would suggest getting of Yaz altogether, with the help of your family doctor. Wouldn't even finish the end of the package of Yaz. I've heard it can cause blood clots. Seeing as you had unprotected sex with your boyfriend, this would be a good time for a doctor's visit. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I have tried several types of birth control to help with this and of course they do regulate the periods, but they are never less intense and the other side effects of the pill (nausea, weight gain, constant mood swings) are always so severe that I honestly would rather just have the irregular periods.
368785 tn?1270432283 i stopped bleeding at the end of my cycle, but started spotting a couple days after starting the pill. over the past few days the 'flow' has been heavy enough to need a tampon. but i noticed tonight after i got done feeding the baby (formula, not nursing) that it was a lot more mucous than blood. does anyone know what could cause this? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
